Chapter 546: 547 Chapter Like-minded Readers_1
At dusk, Aiden took the keys and came to the warehouse.
This warehouse was used for storing abandoned goods and rarely used large equipment in the prison, and usually, no one came in or out, except for weekly fire inspections.
In the morning, when Aiden came to the prison, he had brought the stray dog possessed by Tony here and did not return until mealtime to check on things.
Aiden opened the door, walked past the shelves to the farthest corner, and saw the stray dog lying on the ground asleep, while Tony was sitting on a chair, engrossed in reading a magazine.
Although still a gaunt figure, his body could move as freely as a normal person under the influence of the "Wordless Code." The magazine was provided by Aiden to help him pass the time and not be too bored here.
"Being locked up here must be tough," Aiden said.
"Ah, Mr. Galord," Tony looked up when he heard the voice, previously engrossed in his reading, "Have you finished your shift?"
"Not yet, I just came back to work and there’s quite a bit to catch up on, so I need to work late. Sorry, there’s really no way to let you into the main area, so you’ll have to make do here," Aiden apologized to him.
"It’s okay, not at all a hardship," Tony said with wide eyes shaking his head, "Before, I had to be locked up at home and continuously possess animals. Being able to flip through a book with my own hands to pass the time satisfies me greatly."
"Your demands are certainly low," Aiden chuckled, "Are you reading ’The Explorer’?"
"Yes, it’s my favorite magazine, it has ’Fantasy House’s’ serial ’The Hound Knight’," Tony showed him the magazine content, "Do you like to read it too?"
Fans of The Hound Knight really are everywhere, Aiden thought to himself.
"I used to read it all the time, but I haven’t followed it for a while now, I only read the adapted comics," Aiden nodded.
"I haven’t really read many comics; when I was possessing others, it was hard to flip pages myself, and I had to get my dad to read to me," Tony said.
"Then I’ll look for the serialized magazines for you," Aiden offered.
"That..." Tony hesitated, stopping short.
"If you have a request, just ask. There’s no need to be so hesitant; I’ll help you if I can," Aiden discerned Tony’s thoughts.
Harrison Dodge evidently put a lot of effort into his son’s education, and while Tony was still not adept at socializing with people, he was quite well-mannered. It was just that sometimes he could be overly polite, hesitating to inconvenience others when he had something to ask.
"I’d like to see the latest issue of ’Dreams of Youth’, do you have it here?" Tony asked tentatively.
"You like reading that?" Aiden asked with a slight widening of his eyes.
"Sorry, forget it if you don’t have it," Tony hastily waved his hand.
"No, I was just surprised to find someone here with the same interest. I do have a subscription to that magazine, shall I look for you later?" Aiden replied with a smile.
"You also..." Tony realized something and suddenly got excited, "Like ’The Watcher’s’ fairy tales?"
"Yeah, I do," Aiden nodded.
If he didn’t like them, he wouldn’t have submitted those stories to charitable magazines for the world to see.
"Sorry, it’s just that I get a little excited when I meet someone with the same interests. I’ve always wanted to make friends with similar hobbies..." Tony scratched his cheek and smiled sheepishly.
"Well, there are actually several inmates here who like that magazine. If you’re interested, you could write letters to them," Aiden said.
"Writing letters... to prisoners?" Tony was somewhat surprised.
"I do encourage prisoners to have normal correspondence with the outside world. After all, prison is a repressive and closed environment; appropriate contact with the outside world helps prisoners reintegrate into society in the future," Aiden explained. "This prison also has juvenile inmates around your age who are the main readers of this magazine. Of course, it’s up to you."
Tony seriously considered it for a moment, and finally made up his mind, "I think... I could give it a try."
"Alright, then I’ll go ask for you."
Aiden thought to himself that Avansa and those twin assassins indeed needed to learn to socialize for reintegrating into society.
"By the way, Mr. Calder, about the trade..." Tony suddenly remembered.
"The discussion over there isn’t going very smoothly, of course, it’s their internal issue. As for the conditions you’ve offered, they have no objections," Aiden spread his hands.
"So what exactly is the situation now?" Tony asked carefully.
"Their internal transaction is set to have me as the guarantor, but I need some time to prepare on my end. Before the official transaction, they’re prepared to provide a temporary solution."
"They can create an empty shell of a body without consciousness for you to parasitize."
"That kind of thing... my father actually did that before... but those bodies had a short lifespan, and after parasitizing for a while, they would demonize," Tony blinked his eyes.
"Don’t worry, the ones they make will be better than the products of the Harvest Mother Cult, allowing you to use them for a longer time. You just need to provide some hair, and you can try it out first."
As the sole authority, the reproductive effects of the Hatching Egg certainly had to be above the power of the "reproductive" saints. According to Abigail’s explanation, the Hatching Egg could also rapidly clone progenies that fully obey the mother, and with her own powers slightly adjusted, she could create bodies more suitable for Tony’s use, and could regularly produce them as well.
"Alright then, when can I expect it?"
"Overall, it will take about a week," Aiden replied.
"Then it looks like I need to hurry up and get ready," Tony suddenly said.
"What kind of preparations do you need to make?" Aiden was taken aback.
"The assessment, you said there was an assessment to work in your prison, right?" Tony said matter-of-factly.
"Well, yes, there is such a thing," Aiden recalled, "I’ll get you the Prison Administration Regulations to memorize later. The written exam mainly covers that. What do you want for dinner? Your body needs to eat now, doesn’t it?"
"Bread is fine."
"I’ll go pick out some food for you then," Aiden saw that the other party was being polite,
"I appreciate it, Mr. Calder," Tony nodded with the utmost respect.
As Aiden was about to turn around and leave, he saw the magazine in Tony’s hand and remembered something about Deborah.
"Tony, how much do you know about the original model for the Hound Hero?" Aiden asked offhandedly.
"You mean... Mr. Duboman the Hound?" Tony blinked.
"Yes, him."
"That..." Tony hesitated for a moment, then answered, "My father, he did investigate that man before."
