Chapter 503: Chapter 504 You Really Know How to Play_1
"By the way," Lamia suddenly seemed to remember something and pointed to the wardrobe. "I actually prepared a little surprise gift for you."
"What is it?" Aiden looked over cautiously.
"Oh, wouldn’t it cease to be a surprise if I told you?" Lamia encouraged Aiden with a smile, "Go ahead and open it."
Aiden stood still, pondering for a moment, then turned to the mercury amalgam golem.
"Open that cabinet," he commanded.
"That’s no fun," Lamia protested from the side.
"I always have a bad feeling about this." Aiden watched calmly as the mercury amalgam golem opened the wardrobe.
In the wardrobe, a woman in a military uniform was curled up, her face already devoid of color, her eyes tightly shut, showing no signs of life whatsoever. She looked just like a corpse.
Aiden turned slowly, his words deliberate, "Lamia, explain this. This body isn’t your food reserve, is it?"
"Don’t get so scary all of a sudden," Lamia quickly waved her hands, "Move her out and take a closer look, she’s still alive!"
"Alive and you didn’t tie her up?"
"I fed her a kind of drug that puts humans into hibernation. For at least two days, she’ll be very quiet. Her heartbeat and breathing have both slowed down, which is why her face is so pale. If she were a corpse, she would be turning blue by now," Lamia explained.
The hibernation drug, something Meiruki’s slave could also concoct with the Magic Potion, and Lamia, being more skilled than her, had no reason not to know how to.
"So, who is this person?" Aiden confirmed with Lamia.
"An officer from the base. Pretty, isn’t she? I caught her to provide some entertainment for you as a way to repay a small part of the favor I owe you. You don’t have to thank me," Lamia grinned as she spoke.
"...She’s a follower of Mr. Blood Coat, right?" Aiden dismissed Lamia’s crude joke rather bluntly.
Lamia and Qiqimora were once attacked by Mr. Blood Coat with a group of followers; at that time, they roughly remembered the faces of some of them.
Aiden had instructed both of them to take a part of these followers out and also to capture one or two for interrogation.
"Yes, she’s the only woman who was brought by that masked man. I remember her very clearly," Lamia answered, "This woman’s spirit has also been completely controlled. When we caught her, she even tried to kill herself, so I simply used the drug to calm her down."
"Good, then wake her up," Aiden was already eager to start the interrogation.
"Once she wakes up, she won’t be so quiet. Are you sure you don’t want to have some fun first? We’ll have to kill her later anyway, so why not make use of the waste," Lamia suggested with a wicked smile, "I specially chose her to keep alive for you. Don’t worry, I’ll keep it secret from Qiqimora. Do you need some Magic Potion for virility?"
"Wake her up," Aiden repeated somewhat helplessly.
"Oh, I get it, it’s the struggle and resistance that excites you, isn’t it?"
"Wake, her, up!!" Aiden enunciated each word, glaring at Lamia.
"Tsk tsk, so frightening," Lamia said mockingly.
Only then did Lamia move to lift the female officer from the wardrobe, and as Aiden wondered where she would produce the drug to reverse the officer’s hibernation, Lamia suddenly opened her mouth and bit down on the woman’s neck. In the instant Lamia opened her mouth, Aiden’s keen eyes spotted her upper canine teeth rapidly elongating and sharpening, like those of a venomous snake.
He immediately understood all the mechanisms; Lamia could store some concocted Magic Potions inside her body and, like a venomous snake, use her fangs to inject the drug into her prey.
After injecting the antidote, Lamia shifted the female officer from a horizontal to a vertical embrace, wrapping her arms around the other’s neck and ribcage. The female officer’s stature was definitely not petite, and could even be described as quite tall, but in Lamia’s arms, she seemed as frail as a little girl.
Only a dozen or so seconds passed before Aiden saw color returning to the female officer’s cheeks and her chest began to rise and fall.
After a while, the female officer slowly opened her eyes and locked gazes with Aiden.
As the initial haze cleared, she bolted awake, eyes widening in alarm.
Just as she instinctively prepared to open her mouth and scream, Lamia suddenly tightened her grip, clamping down on the other’s throat and ribs, instantly cutting off her voice.
The female officer struggled violently, trying to pry Lamia’s hands off and attempting to scratch her skin with her nails, but Lamia’s strength was overwhelming for her. The female officer’s nails left several marks on Lamia’s skin layer, but no blood appeared; underneath the damaged outer skin were fine scales.
Aiden murmured a divine incantation softly, and then said to Lamia, "Let her go."
"If she makes a sound and someone hears, it could be troublesome," Lamia said.
"I’ve already taken precautions, don’t worry," Aiden replied, "Let her go first, she looks like she’s about to suffocate."
It was only then that Lamia released her, and the female officer immediately charged at Aiden with a shrill scream, loud enough to awaken every guest staying in the inn.
Aiden stepped aside and dodged, moving to one side, and the female officer crashed into a "wall," a cage that enveloped them flickered momentarily.
Aiden had conjured a cage that covered half the room with the punishment of "retribution," and specified that sound couldn’t travel outside the cage.
"Restrain her!" Aiden commanded.
The mercury golem immediately pounced on her, transforming into shackles that bound the female officer.
"Prevent her from biting her tongue," Aiden added the command.
A piece extending from the part of the shackles fixing her head adhered to the female officer’s face, and before she could react, it penetrated her mouth and pried it open, then morphed into a firm gag.
The Goddess of Vengeance suddenly appeared next to Aiden, arms folded and looking on with interest at the female officer who was bound in chains, forced to kneel on the ground, and forced to open her mouth. She nodded her approval.
Meanwhile, Lamia whistled at the scene.
"Kid, you sure know how to play."
"Brat, you really know how to have fun," Aiden heard the nearly simultaneous remarks from both.
"It’s just to prevent her from biting her tongue," Aiden answered calmly.
This was a lesson learned from the interrogation of Sophie Carter; some people wouldn’t hesitate to bite off their own tongues to keep a secret.
"Was that cage also your doing?" Lamia asked.
"This thing can completely contain sound," Aiden told Lamia, "it was already proven when you fought me."
"I can’t believe I even used Dragon’s Roar on you," Lamia realized what he meant, "Is this barrier really that powerful? I kind of want to try it out."
"Don’t mess around, you don’t have the memory from that time, and I’ve had my ears deafened by you once already. Alright, you head outside the cage now; I need to interrogate her," Aiden gestured for Lamia to leave the cage.
