Chapter 414: Chapter 414: The Greatest Sincerity_1
"You can’t do it on credit, and neither can I," Aiden spread his hands toward Heinz.
"We can pay a ’deposit,’ aside from this final payment, you can make many demands!" Heinz said.
"You misunderstand me, what I mean is, I have already prepared the compensation on this end, we don’t have to do it on credit," Aiden suddenly raised his hand and made a gesture.
This action caused the people from the Royal Secret Police to tense up for a moment. Although the deal was openly discussed, everyone was aware that both sides were prepared for conflict.
Fortunately, this raise of the hand wasn’t a signal for attack, but the masked mysterious woman who walked up to Aiden’s side, then slowly removed her mask.
"Heinz," the woman greeted.
At that moment, Heinz felt as if an icicle spear pierced through his heart, chilling him gradually from the top of his head.
The Royal Secret Police stationed in the yard were caught off guard, and the atmosphere at the entire vineyard plunged directly to a freezing point.
The person who removed the mask was none other than their arduous assassination target, Sara Rekhsia!
For a brief moment, a few secret police officers were ready to pull out their guns right there and complete the mission, with even the members of the royal guard sent by the king beginning to reach for their pistols at their sides.
"Nobody move," Heinz suddenly shouted in a low voice, halting their actions.
"Sir?" A colonel from the Royal Guard narrowed his eyes at Heinz.
He was appointed by the king to oversee Heinz’s execution of the mission, and if Heinz showed any negative attitude towards it, he would certainly take action.
"Wise choice," Aiden nodded to Heinz, "Even the roughest gangs should know what happens when you suddenly reach for the goods during a deal, look at your shadows."
The secret police looked down to see their own shadows bubbling and churning as if something was about to burst forth from underneath.
"Don’t act rashly, I’ve lost count of how many trigger fingers I’ve snapped," Daili smiled, holding a short magic wand, "We specifically chose a sunny day to come here."
"Give the sniper in the attic a break too," Aiden added, "Don’t think we can’t reach him just because he’s hiding there."
Meanwhile, the mercury amalgam golem stepped forward to shield Sara behind it.
"What are you preparing to do?" Heinz asked.
"I told you, I want to conclude the deal all at once. So I brought what you’re looking for right here," Aiden spread his hands, "Now can we talk alone? Of course, Miss Sara will join us since she is part of the transaction."
Heinz looked toward Sara, but the mercury amalgam golem blocked his view, preventing him from seeing her expression.
"I refuse," Heinz suddenly said.
"The deal was initiated by you, and now you refuse?" Aiden challenged.
"Forgive my bluntness, but the deal you proposed is somewhat suspicious. I cannot know if you are indeed Aiden Galahad or if she is really Sara Rekhsia," Heinz said.
As Aiden had anticipated, Heinz was already aware of the information regarding the Divine Language he possessed, and was cautious about it.
The "Substitute" ability of the "Existence" authority could, at its initial stage, change the appearance of one being within a certain range centered on oneself, or exchange the appearances of two beings.
At the initial stage, he could only maintain the substitution of one individual or the mutual exchange between two individuals at the same time.
If this Sera was fake, then the negotiation naturally could not proceed.
"It’s really difficult to talk with you, so how about this," Aiden proposed, "choose two of your most trustworthy subordinates to step forward. Make sure their appearances differ significantly."
Heinz regarded Aiden suspiciously for a while before finally giving an order for a man and a woman from the secret police to step forward and stand in the middle of the path leading to the estate.
"Then I’ll begin," Aiden nodded, then started chanting the Divine Language in a low voice.
In an instant, except for Heinz and Veronica, everyone’s expressions changed.
The secret policemen were astonished because the language chanted by the prison chief was so similar to the secret techniques of the Hofmann Family, while on Aiden’s side, Daili and Presia both realized that Aiden was using Divine Language they had never seen before, and Asenna, who had only studied necromancy and knew nothing of authorities, was amazed that the magic Aiden used exceeded her understanding.
Then, in the next moment, something even more astonishing happened. The two secret police officers "exchanged" places with each other in an instant, and at Aiden’s gesture, they looked at each other and couldn’t help but cry out in surprise.
Everyone present looked at each other in disbelief.
"Don’t be nervous, you’ve only exchanged appearances temporarily," Aiden said as he looked towards Heinz, "Count Hofmann, I believe you understand the ’secret technique’ I employed and what it means for me to do this. This is the greatest extent of my sincerity; if you still refuse, then the negotiation is void. What do you say?"
Heinz fell silent; of course, he knew what Aiden’s actions implied.
Aiden had deliberately expended the Divine Power to exchange appearances in front of him, confirming that he had not used that power to tamper with any of his own members. As long as the appearances of these two subordinates remained swapped, both Aiden Galahad and Sara Rekhsia were the real deal.
All that remained to be wary of was the "Order" Divine Language and the Wordless Code, for which he had researched countermeasures. Heaven knows if the other party had more trump cards, but Heinz knew he had no more risk-free paths to take; it was time to take a gamble.
After a while, he responded, "Fine, but the private discussion must take place within the manor."
"It seems I have no choice in the venue?" Aiden said.
"You can choose between the cellar or the estate, take your pick," Heinz said, "I swear on the honor of the Hofmann family that there will be no ambush inside."
"Then let’s go with the cellar; it’s better to prevent eavesdropping as much as possible," Aiden smiled, "and it also gives me a chance to see how much fine wine you’ve stashed away."
Heinz made a gesture, and the secret police hidden in the loft opened the window for Aiden to see, indicating he could enter the yard with confidence.
"Commander, you won’t let His Majesty down, will you?" a Colonel of the Royal Guard standing by Heinz’s side murmured through barely moving lips in a voice only they could hear clearly.
"Of course, I will give His Majesty an explanation," Heinz also lowered his voice, his expression solemn.
"Commander..." Veronica spoke to Aiden with no small measure of concern.
"The command here is yours for now. If there is trouble, or if I don’t come back in ten minutes, lead your men here to find me," Aiden whispered, "The mercury amalgam golem will protect you here, don’t worry."
