Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Have You Guys Developed Some Sort of Misunderstanding?_1
Three days ago, on the night Aiden had just received the threatening letter from the Red Shark Pirate Group, he once again sat with the Great Witches in Abigail’s summoning space, starting up a business meeting.
"The money has been received, and I’ve counted it, it’s consistent with the ledger," Abigail nodded to Aiden, "Do you want me to send you a receipt?"
"No need, what legal effect could a receipt from a witch gathering have? Could you even send a summons in case of a debt dispute?" Aiden couldn’t help but laugh, "I’ll figure out the finances and other procedures. You just need to confirm that the accounts for this quarter with me are settled. How the money is distributed is your internal affair. How’s the preparation of materials for next month going?"
"We’ve only completed seventy percent so far, the dolls are being rushed out overnight, but the demand you guys have is not something my small workshop can keep up with," Vila complained.
"Use the funds for rebuilding the meeting venue to pay for the doll production first, since this year’s gathering is bound to be put on hold," Abigail interjected, "though that money was supposed to be mostly yours to begin with."
"Must be nice, we only got a tenth," Habanis expressed her envy.
"You just helped with deliveries, be content with a tenth," Lamia retorted.
"What do you mean just deliveries? I flew over checkpoints in the sky to smuggle materials for you, let’s see you do it yourself," Habanis argued, unwilling to back down.
Taking advantage of the Great Witches’ idle chatter, Aiden turned to Qiqimora, "Miss Qiqimora, would you have time to come see me tomorrow?"
He didn’t have a direct method of contacting Qiqimora and could only get in touch through Abigail’s summons. This business meeting, in fact, had been arranged by him through contacting Abigail. His true purpose was to get Qiqimora to the prison.
"Hmm? What’s up, did we miss something last time?" Qiqimora hadn’t immediately grasped Aiden’s intentions.
"No, it’s about ’that matter’ you specifically mentioned to me last time," Aiden emphasized the words ’that matter’.
"Eh? Oh..." Qiqimora took a moment to understand, then asked, "Your Excellency intends... to give a response now?"
Last time, she had just mentioned to Aiden the matter of trading divinity. In fact, she didn’t expect him to take it too seriously; so, when Aiden brought it up so quickly, she was momentarily at a loss.
"Yes, it’s better to discuss such things face to face," Aiden replied earnestly.
"Alright then, when..." Qiqimora nodded lightly, just about to respond when she suddenly noticed that everyone else in the meeting had gone quiet and was looking at them.
"What’s the matter?" she asked.
After a pause, Abigail was the first to break the silence, "What are you two talking about?"
"Er... just a personal matter," Qiqimora vaguely replied, "It has nothing to do with the gathering anyway, you’re not going to meddle in personal privacy, are you, Abigail?"
The matter of Qiqimora and Aiden trading divinity was naturally unrelated to the witch gathering. Qiqimora didn’t want the others to know about it, because if Aiden was ready to offer terms that the other witches could meet, they might get involved as well.
"This, I indeed do not meddle in..." Abigail responded hesitantly. The witch gathering itself was a very loose organization; as long as the interests of the organization itself weren’t harmed, she naturally had no authority to comment on the private interactions between members. So she didn’t inquire further.
The other three Great Witches exchanged glances, each reading clear surprise in the other’s eyes.
This conversation sounded as if these two had somehow... inexplicably become an item?
Nobody dared to speak up any further, just listening as they continued their dialogue.
"So, when would be the best time for me to visit?" Hearing Abigail’s response, Qiqimora comfortably confirmed the details of the meeting with Aiden.
"The sooner the better," Aiden replied without hesitation, "If possible, I’d like you to come over as soon as you can. Honestly, on my end... I’m somewhat impatient."
The Red Shark Pirate Gang could attack Rose Iron Prison at any moment, so Aiden could only push for preparedness. If Qiqimora had not arrived at Rose Iron Prison by the time the pirates started their move, it would be too late, so he had to urge her a bit.
But these words immediately drew the witches’ gazes to him.
"Okay, then I’ll hurry... I’ll leave in a while, and I should arrive by tomorrow morning," Qiqimora promised without any hesitation.
All the Great Witches turned their attention to Qiqimora.
"That’s good," Aiden began and then suddenly remembered something, "Oh, and if possible, could you bring some change of clothes with you?"
"Why?" Qiqimora asked reflexively.
"I’m hoping you can stay here for a few days, would that be convenient?" Aiden said with an air of nonchalance.
At the time, Aiden had only received a threatening letter from the Red Shark Pirate Gang, without having any direct contact with them. Although he anticipated that they would act quickly after receiving a firm response from him, the exact timing of the prison break was uncertain.
To be ready for the prison break at all times, Aiden could only have Qiqimora stay in the prison for a while. With Qiqimora’s abilities, staying unnoticed by others in the prison would be easy.
All of the witches looked at Aiden and instinctively held their breath.
Habanis couldn’t help but whisper, "Holy shit..."
Then Qiqimora casually responded, "Okay, no problem."
The Great Witches’ gaze "whooshed" back onto Qiqimora, with Habanis and Vila almost bulging their eyes out.
"Then I’ll just wait here; I’ll take my leave now," having accomplished his goal for attending the meeting, Aiden decisively "logged off," "Farewell, ladies."
"Goodbye." Qiqimora waved her hand and began pondering what terms the other party would propose.
Throughout the whole time, she and Aiden had been seriously considering the trade and never noticed that the psychological activities of the other onlookers were far richer than theirs.
After Aiden’s image disappeared, the scene immediately fell into a deathly silence.
After a while, Qiqimora came to her senses and found all her companions looking at her.
"What’s wrong with you all, why so silent?" Qiqimora looked at them.
"Qiqimora..." Vila began hesitantly.
"You wouldn’t happen to..." Habanis continued.
"...like that type?" Lamia asked with a hoarse voice.
"What?" Qiqimora didn’t understand at first.
"Anyway... congratulations for now," Abigail managed to maintain her composure.
"Do you all have some kind of strange misunderstanding?!" Qiqimora was a bit flabbergasted.
