Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Giving You a Chance_1

After confirming that the other party had completed the inheritance, Aiden greeted her and deftly pulled out a gun, aiming it at Sister Neve’s face.

He had Daili and Veronica check Sister Neve’s newly inherited body beforehand. This body seemed to carry a bit of magical beast bloodline, but not much—not exaggerated like the priest who could directly transform into a synthetic beast.

From this distance, a single shot could completely blow the opponent’s head off.

Sister Neve glared at Aiden and then her expression changed.

She found she couldn’t move at all, as an iron coffin not much larger than her body completely enveloped her.

"Don’t struggle in vain. I’ve already witnessed your abilities. This instrument of torture was specially prepared for you. If you forcibly split inside, even if I don’t shoot your head to pieces, you will be squeezed to death alive," Aiden calmly advised.

Sister Neve attempted to struggle, and immediately felt a sting-like pain—seems the inside of the iron coffin could deform, and spikes would grow out if she tried to move recklessly.

Aiden quietly watched her futile efforts. The torture device transformed by the mercury amalgam golem had become almost indistinguishable from a real Iron Maiden. Sister Neve’s power of "Reproduction" required her to either give birth from her own body or use her blood to coerce others into bearing offspring carrying her bloodline. By enveloping her body, her power could be sealed.

If "Reproduction" couldn’t be utilized, then "Evolution" would have no ground to stand on. As for "Inheritance"... Sister Neve, who had just completed one inheritance, was unable to use it consecutively.

There was one point Abigail didn’t lie about—the mercury amalgam golem imbued with life was indeed very effective at restraining the power of the "Reproduction" authority.

The conflict between the Witch Coven and the Harvest Mother Cult, and even the self-governing state’s heretical tribunal involvement, ended up with the fruits of victory falling into Aiden’s hands in the end.

Because he wasn’t sure if Abigail could locate him using the token, Aiden found a random place to hide the token of the Great Witch and had Veronica, accompanied by Daili, stay on alert in the house above.

With Daili’s shadow demons and Veronica’s sharp senses, not even a mouse could sneak into this house easily. Qiqimora might manage to infiltrate, but in such a large village, it wouldn’t be easy to accidentally stumble upon this place without a blind cat running into a dead mouse.

If the Witch Coven had the means to systematically search the entire village and beyond, the successor’s location would have been exposed long ago.

Everything was going smoothly, so smoothly that even Aiden felt it was too much so.

The deceitful tactics of the Harvest Mother Cult and the petty actions of the Witch Coven collided, allowing him to catch Father Bales first, then the betrayal of Father Bales gave him the opportunity to capture Sister Neve. It was as if an invisible and untouchable hand had arranged everything for him.

Upon reflection, it did indeed seem to be the case. He had resolved to join forces with the Witch Coven against the cult because of the seer Melissa’s persuasion, and Melissa claimed to be a follower of Melifilia...

This gave Aiden the impression that Melifilia and Melissa had anticipated this outcome. But he quickly thought that even if this was a scenario they had calculated, it didn’t matter. Now he needed to seize divinity as much as possible.

"I said don’t make futile resistance," Aiden repeated coldly, "The Harvest Mother Cult has caused a major incident in the autonomous region, and you have already killed law enforcement officers. You’re on the suppression list. If you continue to resist, I will not hesitate to kill you. I’m only warning you once."

Sister Neve fell silent for a long time before speaking, "That this body would be found by you... It’s Herbert who betrayed me, isn’t it..."

"Herbert?" Aiden was momentarily startled, glanced at the priest occupying Presia’s body nearby, and realized that this was Father Bales’ name.

Father Bales, suddenly appearing and killing her, and her enemies finding an heir’s body in advance, Sister Neve could no longer be oblivious to the realization that she had been betrayed by her own flesh and blood—although she still didn’t understand how the priest had managed to fully resist the pull of their bloodline.

"That unfilial son, I should have killed him the moment he was born!" Sister Neve cursed venomously, her voice sounding young, but her tone to Aiden was utterly that of a narrow-minded old woman.

But considering that inside this body was actually a woman over two hundred years old, it didn’t seem so strange.

Father Bales clenched his teeth upon hearing these words, his facial features tensing as well.

"You never treated your own children well, yet you expect them to be completely obedient to you from the bottom of their hearts. You’re expecting too much," Aiden said sharply.

Sister Neve glared at him.

"Just to confirm, you are indeed the queen of the Old Lese Kingdom, right?" Aiden asked, pointing at Sister Neve.

"Yes," Sister Neve said coldly, staring at Aiden. "Are you the remnant of the Flying Spaghetti Cult? A lapdog of the Grim Reaper?"

Aiden remembered the unnamed witch seemed to have been summoned to this world by Death himself, and clearly Sister Neve knew that behind the Flying Spaghetti Cult was Death’s machinations, which undoubtedly confirmed Aiden’s previous suspicion that Death had orchestrated the downfall of the Old Lese Kingdom.

"To tell the truth, I have nothing to do with Death or the witch who killed you, you’ve got the wrong enemy," Aiden said as he crossed his arms.

The priest gave Aiden a slightly surprised look, while Sister Neve’s face clearly expressed disbelief: "The Flying Spaghetti Cult appeared out of nowhere during my reign and suddenly reemerged here with you two hundred years later; are you saying that’s just a coincidence?"

Aiden thought to himself that she probably wouldn’t believe it, but it really was a coincidence.

But Melifilia had mentioned that the Harvest Mother Cult was also trying to trace the whereabouts of the seer Melissa... From this perspective, the Cult’s conflict with him seemed to still objectively exist.

The seer Melissa was a follower of Melifilia, and Melifilia had been summoned by the Blood Moon Cult... Taking this into account, forces wanting to find Melissa might eventually come to Silvertown.

What a hassle... Aiden thought to himself.

"Believe it or not, that’s the truth," Aiden replied calmly, "Long story short, now that you’re in my hands, I’m still willing to give you a chance."

"A chance?" Sister Neve looked suspicious.

"Cooperate with me honestly and surrender," Aiden said, pausing for a moment, "By doing so, I can spare your life."

Father Bales’ eyes widened at these words.

"You want me to go to prison?" Sister Neve frowned.

"I’m the one who runs the prison, so it’s the approach I’m most familiar with," Aiden said slowly, "Of course, I’m not planning to throw a prisoner into the jail whom I can’t control, so you must give up the power of the divine word and transfer your divinity to me."
