Chapter 158: Chapter 158 Abigail’s Instructions_1
An hour ago.
Enshrouded by a gray mist, the summoning space lay before them, with Abigail seated opposite Qiqimora, divided by a long table bearing pumpkin lanterns.
"It has been confirmed, Aiden Galahad is the possessor of the Divine Word, using his ’Order’s’ judgement authority to erase Vila’s golem core, and the mercury amalgam golem was taken by him."
"That very phrase I ’taught’ him, was it learned at that time?" Abigail asked.
"According to Daili’s statement, that’s correct, but Presia provided information that he also possesses other ’Throne’ powers," Qiqimora said. "Moreover, the source of his divinity is still a complete mystery."
"Someone is behind him?" Abigail immediately concluded.
"That is the most likely possibility," Qiqimora agreed.
"Did you find anything in that prison?" Abigail inquired.
"Nothing, but I did notice another interesting thing..." Qiqimora recalled, "In that prison’s cafeteria, some people were using a pair of stick-like utensils to eat."
"Hmm?" Abigail seemed interested. "Explain in detail."
Qiqimora was slightly surprised by Abigail’s reaction; she hadn’t paid much attention to it originally, mentioning it only in passing.
But since Abigail asked, Qiqimora answered truthfully, "According to what Daili and the others said, it seems Aiden Galahad personally implemented it in the prison. The cafeteria there also offers some very special dishes, some of which are more convenient to eat with this type of utensil."
"..." Abigail fell silent.
"Do you know something?" Qiqimora asked curiously.
"Using two sticks as eating utensils is a religious tradition from the Flying Spaghetti Cult of the Old Lese Kingdom, two hundred years ago," Abigail slowly explained.
"The Flying Spaghetti Cult? Doesn’t sound like a serious cult," Qiqimora commented with a laugh.
"It was the first religious group to raise the banner of rebellion against the Earth Mother Church of the Old Lese Kingdom. Unfortunately, the uprising was quickly extinguished, so it’s not well-known," Abigail continued slowly. "I thought the cult had been completely eradicated..."
"To rebel against the Earth Mother Church is like..." Qiqimora caught the importance.
"Yes, for the Flying Spaghetti Cult, the Harvest Mother Cult is their sworn enemy. If that man is truly related to the Flying Spaghetti Cult, we may well have a common enemy," Abigail nodded. "There is value in using him."
"Father Bales has been infiltrating the autonomous states with his influence recently... could it be for this reason?" Qiqimora suddenly recalled this matter.
"It’s highly possible," Abigail concurred with the assertion.
"Should we propose an alliance to him?" Qiqimora asked.
"There’s no reason not to. It wouldn’t be harmful for us," Abigail replied indifferently. "Tell Vila to cease immediately, and inform her not to make me intervene to stop her."
"What if that man has no intention of opposing the Mother Cult?" Qiqimora posed another question.
"He will. I’ll use my channels to leak a bit of his information to the Earth Mother Church. If the target Father Bales is searching for is related to him, sooner or later he will stand with us," Abigail stated calmly, reaching to touch the pendant hanging below her neck. Unlike the tokens worn by the other Great Witches, her necklace pendant was a white pebble the size of a pigeon’s egg.
Behind her, the grey fog churned incessantly.
...
And now—
"You want me to join forces with you... First tell me, how did the Harvest Mother Cult come into conflict with your Witch Assembly?" Aiden asked Qiqimora.
He could roughly imagine that Qiqimora must have wandered around the prison and, upon seeing the reformed canteen, came to the misunderstanding that he was a follower of the Flying Spaghetti Cult.
It wasn’t surprising that the Harvest Mother Cult, which had inherited from the Earth Mother Church that annihilated the Flying Spaghetti Cult, would conclude that he bore a grudge against the Harvest Mother Cult.
However, this was the first time he was hearing about the Witch Assembly preparing for war with the Harvest Mother Cult—it appeared to be the fundamental reason why Abigail had extended an olive branch to him.
After brief consideration, he decided to gather some intelligence first.
While it was true that allying with the Witch Assembly could largely ensure they wouldn’t trouble him going forward, this also meant that he might have to become enemies with the Harvest Mother Cult.
"The Harvest Mother Cult also possesses the Divine Language, and the current leader of the cult, Father Bales, seeks to hunt for divinity from the Great Witch," Qiqimora replied.
It was an overly simplistic explanation—Aiden realized that she clearly didn’t want to divulge too much.
But Qiqimora still provided an important piece of information, that the leader of the Harvest Mother Cult was also a wielder of the Divine Language, and likely held a high status; otherwise, with the resources of the Witch Assembly—Abigail, a "saint," along with two other Divine Language wielders and two other Great Witches who were not yet imprisoned—there would be no need to seek his cooperation.
Of course, it was also possible that the Witch Assembly merely wanted to use him as a pawn.
He had speculated that the nameless witch who created the Flying Spaghetti Cult two hundred years ago had some connection to the Witch Assembly. He even suspected that the nameless witch who might have been his traveler predecessor was none other than Abigail, now occupying the Banquet Forest.
However, the era when the nameless witch was active and the time when the name Abigail started to rise were subtly separated by approximately a hundred and fifty years.
The Harvest Mother Cult was a religious group that aimed to revive the Old Lese Kingdom and the Earth Mother Church; to some extent, they had an old grudge with the nameless witch who had once rebelled against the Earth Mother Church.
This considered, the Witch Assembly might truly have some connection to that nameless witch.
"Of course, we are also very interested in seizing everything from the Harvest Mother Cult," Qiqimora added another line, "If you are willing to exert effort on your side, we are more than happy to share the spoils of war with you."
"I can’t fully trust you on this," Aiden crossed his arms, "I’ll need to give it some more thought."
"Alright, we’re not in a rush," Qiqimora anticipated this response, "I will come again to ask for your answer."
"Then I hope next time you can come to me properly through the reception instead of sneaking in like this," Aiden sighed.
"At least, can Your Excellency guarantee you won’t make a move against the Witch Assembly again?"
"I had no such intention to begin with, as long as you don’t start causing trouble. This place is a prison, not a heretic inquisition tasked with capturing criminals," Aiden replied calmly.
"Excellent, then we shall meet again," Qiqimora smiled, lifted her skirt in a curtsy, and began to chant the Divine Language.
The next second, she had vanished from Aiden’s view without a trace.
