Chapter 933: Loved Ones.

A date was a very important occasion for a man, if he had initiated it, he had a lot of things to consider. One, where should he take his date too? A good restaurant, of course, but which one?

When one really cared, there were many, many options. So many that they caused quite a hardstruck. Furthermore, you had to take in the taste of your partner as well. What did she like? What was she bound to like? Everything mattered.

If you wanted to make an impression, preferably a good one... you had to do a lot of things, you had to ’sacrifice’. It is an ordeal.

So much so, that Alan even went to get a suit tailored for him, one that fit him and was breathable, enough for his Frost Dragon genes to ignore it. Furthermore, he had bought a bouquet of roses, courtesy of Maxwell.

Max had recommended a good place in the Capitol, a restaurant with a more ’ancient’ style theme, one that was situated on a hill a certain distance away from the Bosporus strait, with the resplendent lights of the Capitol, and their position in the restaurant, it was an amazing view.

The strait of Bosporus was beautiful at this time of Night, with the full moon’s visage present upon it, along with a multitude of other lights. One could see a yacht or two sail through the strait as well. To some, it ruined the beauty, to most, it added to it.

"This is delicious."

Sabrina commented, as she consumed a piece of steak. The specialty of the restaurant. Alan nodded with a smile on his face. Even his ’refined’ palate of a dragon found the food to be amazing, but then again, human food was always amazing.

A high elf had praised it once, and even a Dragon was infatuated with it! Humans knew how to cook delicacies. Alan made a note to visit this place later, preferably again with Sabrina, but didn’t bother with the name.

It was one of those places with a ’unique’ Italian or French sounding name, and although Alan understood it clearly due to his gift as a Dragon, he still struggled to remember it. More or less because he didn’t want to.

But then again, he was also focused on Sabrina a lot. For the first time, Alan found out how pretty she looked when she actually put in the effort to ’doll’ herself up. There wasn’t a lot of makeup, but there was enough to take his breath away.

She was always beautiful, the most beautiful, but now? Alan felt as if he could look at her for his entire life and never get tired. Sabrina was a girl who relied mostly on her natural charm, but this? He could get used to this.

He could get addicted to this. He’d been mesmerized the moment he laid eyes upon her at the entrance of the restaurant.

As a Frost Dragon, he thought he had understood beauty, or at the very least, grasped some of it. Alan had seen the vast lands of Earth from the sky, the mountains, the seas, the plains, and even the very sunset. He had seen the wonders of human architecture from the ground, and from high in the skies as well.

He had even laid eyes upon Lanesha herself, the most beautiful. And as a Frost Dragon... he thought he grasped some of it, but he was dead wrong. He was so, so wrong.

From the beginning, she appeared like how light enters a dark room, not announcing itself, , simply arriving and making everything that existed before it seem like it had been waiting without knowing what it was waiting for. He saw her ebony hair cascade down her naked shoulders, pure white hills clashing with a river of darkness, and then, he saw her red dress.

A red that was akin to wine, or rather, blood. The color fit her so perfectly, perhaps second only to black. It was like a declaration in and of itself, a declaration so loud it had made Alan forget to arrange his face when he first received her.

His mouth was agape, his grip on the bouquet loosening, and he didn’t even have any words to describe it. Lanesha, at that moment, had intervened for him.

She had woken him up, describing how men often behaved like that when presented with the sight of their partner all dressed up just for them. Thankfully, the Supreme being had saved him from embarrassment.

Her lipstick matched her dress with extreme precision, almost as if made for it. They added a sort of gravity to her, and Alan had to admit.

He so wanted to kiss those lips.

The red hairpin reflected light in the most subtle, and at the same time, most declaring manner, whenever she turned her head. It always caught his gaze. Her nails. Her earrings. The small, considered details that a less attentive eye might have missed and a more attentive one could not stop finding. Each one red, and a perfect fit for her.

Alan knew Alpha was behind it in one way or another, it was typical of her to dress her queen in a manner that make her resemble a vampire the most, but was he complaining?

’Hell nah...’

In his eyes, even if he didn’t like Alpha a lot... she had full authority in this manner. He was even rooting for her, for she had made it possible for Alan to see Sabrina like this. He had been mesmerized every minute or so, leading his steak to go cold.

And what about Sabrina? What was her reaction to this? Did she pay attention to Alan’s suit? Yes, she did, she loved the way it fit him ’perfectly’. She already had a thing for his muscles, and she wasn’t shy to admit it.

But even more than that, she enjoyed the gaze he had. The attention she, and she only, received from him. His eyes told her a lot, and although at first, she was disappointed it wasn’t an obsessive ’want’, she was more than happy to accept the admiration within those eyes.

She relished it, She loved it. She wanted even more of it.

Sabrina cut up her steak once more, and surprisingly, offered it to Alan, with the slightest blush on her face, as for Alan?

Not a second of hesitation.

After downing the piece, he coughed, as if to recollect himself, and pointed out.

"You should be eating more, you know..."

He said, noticing Sabrina had gotten ’skinnier’, or rather, weaker. There was a certain air of exhaustion around her, and [Dragon Eyes] had already told him that she wasn’t in the best shape.

Sabrina sighed, and answered.

"These days, my entire schedule is filled with turning multiple people back at the family into vampires... It’s draining a lot of out of me."

"Then just refuse... Can’t those old geezers go a day or two without a powerup?"

She shrugged her shoulders, taking a sip of her wine.

"Oh come on, Al, you don’t know what it’s like for people who long reached their limit. Once they saw the effects, everyone was itching for their turn... Besides, it helps me out in the long term, and brings a smile on the face of Alpha and Beta, as well, so I don’t mind it.

Though it can be exhausting..."

She was right in a certain sense, Alan would never know what life was for awakened or even ordinary people who had long passed their prime. A chance to return to that prime, and even exceed it was something they could never avoid. They would always jump at it, especially so when it was confirmed it was without severe drawbacks.

Sabrina would be the next leader of the Wellington family, and she had always played her cards right. No one in her family was opposed to her taking the position of head soon.

"Does no one confront you about all of this? You know... about being a vampire? I figured one or two would pick a fight with you."

Wasn’t that the usual trope? Someone dissatisfied with the power quo uses every means to do something about it? Usually being dumb enough to involve outsiders...?

Sabrina chuckled, dismissing Alan’s concern.

"That’s a stupid thing to do, we always have good control of our family, and no one in the upper echelons is dumb enough to go against me, and my grandpa. Even if Father is away right now..."

Alan didn’t understand, since his memories were complete now, he also had James memories of ’binging’ novels with him, leading him to have certain expectations. But alas, reality was different.

He coughed, and began to eat his steak as well. The flavor was exquisite, although it had gone cold... The wine was amazing as well. Maxwell had truly recommended him a good place...

Sabrina was already finished with her food, and she silently watched Alan eat in peace, resting her chin on her hand. The smile never left her place, as she quietly enjoyed every single moment.

When Alan was almost finished, she suggested.

"Wanna go get ice cream?"

A beaming smile appeared on Alan’s face.
