With the Psy-Tag Skill out of the way, I exhibited quite a bit of restraint in not beginning to search for a suitable particle circulating Skill immediately.
After all, I couldn’t get caught staring off into anything by someone like Amanda or my father…that could only end up badly.
Especially in the 1990s, if a child were caught doing something strange like that, it would no doubt mean a lifetime of therapy, medication, or some other bothersome thing, so I was particularly careful when examining my display panel when others could see me.
Thinking further on that aspect, I could only imagine how bad it would have been if I had been born in, say, the 1600s; I don’t doubt I would have been viewed as a witch or something like that.
Shivering at the thought of being burned at the stake, I went about the rest of my day until evening rolled around on the 29th of October.
With visiting hours winding down and everyone but me being kicked out of Amanda’s room again, I, as per usual, faked going to sleep and waited until I heard the room-shattering snores from that b***h Amanda before finally opening my Display Panel for the first time today.
’Alright, Circulation Skill…those are listed in the MISC Shop.’ Scratching my cheek, I uttered a soft sigh as the never-ending list of items appeared before my eyes.
That was the problem with the MISC SHOP; you could literally buy any random odds and ends from it—food to Technology and everything in between.
Finding anything in this unorganized mess of a list was always a pain in the ass, but luckily, there was a filter function like with all the other shops, so soon enough, I had two options listed on the screen.
[Shop: Alpha Rank]
:{Misc}:
:{Physical Based Particle Circulation Skill}:
:{Meta Physical Based Particle Circulation Skill}:
Here is where my dilemma begins, but first, I need to explain why it was such a problem.
What sets one person apart from each other in the higher Ranks? What makes one Pro-Ranker stronger than another?
Well, there are technically three things. The first is Talent, and sure, it plays a pretty big role in defining a person’s strength; however, at the end of the day, it’s all about stats.
Who had the higher stats generally decided most battles in the higher or even lower Ranks, which is why it’s considered the most important aspect when determining who is stronger.
The third thing, while albeit less important than the other two, is combat experience. If someone is crafty enough, they can put themselves in optimal positions to ensure victory, and that was primarily what I relied on.
Sure, in the higher Ranks, my Talent may be weak, and my stats were never THAT great especially my physical ones, but by utilizing my wealth of tactics and combat experience, I was able to come out on top.
Still, Stats were the one thing that couldn’t be ignored; all the experience in the world wouldn’t mean jack-all if you got bopped by an uber-strong fist. Someone with 200 Points in their Physical Offence will naturally hit A LOT harder than someone with, say, 100 or even 150 points.
Let’s take, for example, my brother, whose Talent gave him temporary surges in physical strength; if his attacks landed on me, no doubt I would turn into mist in the wind; however, what if I was able to place myself in exactly the right spot to deflect or counter his attacks.
That’s exactly how I do things; aside from massive amounts of planning and intelligence gathering, I am an expert in combat awareness and positioning…or in simple terms, my entire fighting style was that of a counter-striker.
This brings me to the point as to why I’m having trouble deciding what type of circulation skill to purchase.
New novel chapters are published on freewёbn૦νeɭ.com.
Now, the purpose of these skills is simple: they teach you a proven method to use Particles to strengthen your body and, in turn, increase your stats.
Unfortunately, unless you were EXTREMELY lucky enough to stumble on a Secret Circulation Skill that would allow you to increase both your Physical and Meta Physical Stats, you were SOL because it was one or the other if you were to buy a skill.
Even the Circulation skill I had created could only nourish and increase one thing, my Intellect Stat, which inherently put me at a disadvantage in the other aspects.
Now a rational person may be screaming, "GET THE FREAKING PHYSICAL CIRCULATION SKILL YOU NOOB!" And until yesterday, you would have been correct in that assumption.
However, finding out about the changes in my Talent and the presence of Talent skills like Psy-Shock that now exist made me think twice about what type of circulation skill I should buy.
’The problem lies in the fact that I don’t know what the damage of those Skill types scales off of. If it’s Intellect, we are golden, but if they scale instead off Meta Physical Offense…well, it won’t be any different than blowing a breath of air in my opponent’s face.’ I thought while massaging my temples.
’I’ve literally spent the entire day considering what option to pick…and yet I am still hesitant to choose either or, damn it. TO HELL WITH THIS; I’M JUST GOING WITH PHYSICAL!’ Throwing my hands up in defeat, I clicked on the Physical Circulation Skills tab and was greeted by thousands of potential options.
Ignoring the cost of the skills, which ranged from Millions of USD to Billions, I sorted them from the most expensive to the least and examined the most expensive option available.
Why wouldn’t I? I had an exchange ticket that negated the cost of shop items; it would be ignorant and idiotic for me not to do so.
Don’t get me wrong, most of the time, in the case of the Arkadia Shop, more expensive didn’t necessarily mean better, but when it came to Circulation Skills, the price was indicative of how good the system viewed the Skill to be, so since this one had a price tag of 7.39 Million High-Alpha Coins aka 73 billion USD; I didn’t have to doubt the quality in this instance.
