Ten minutes later, I had a rough list with over 60 names in my head,
’Too many; I need to filter out those I have a good chance at getting to, so let’s narrow it down to the South Eastern United States, within 600 miles. Once I get older and have access to my Talent, I should be able to manipulate my way to travel the country, but for now…’
Slowly closing my eyes, I accessed the archives of my mind and ran through all the available information. The Archives of my mind were like a vast library of information, or as I pictured it, a giant library, one I was standing in and going through books.
Each book had a name, and I had unconsciously memorized all the information thanks to my perfect memory, so soon enough, I imagined myself sitting at a large table with multiple towers of books laid out in front of me.
One by one, I went through each of the 60 books, mainly searching for where they hunted or killed until, eventually, only a handful remained.
So long as the killer resided in a state that boarded Florida, or even Florida itself, the name was set aside and saved. From there, I spread out the books until they were neatly arranged on the table and examined them carefully.
Next, I decided to add yet another filter and only target those who had claimed to kill more than five individuals. Although it was a known fact that all Serial Killers are liars, there was generally some basis for their claims.
Thus, I was searching for the ones who had the largest number of bodies left in their wake, as they would more than likely net me the most progress when it came to advancing the Descent of Arkadia.
It took some time, but eventually, my list was complete.
1) Wally Derrik Landsly (Florida) codename "Crazy Bill." Active Killing Years 1988-1996: Killed seven women between the ages of 24-48 and has a potential body count of 25.
2) Remmy Elric Candy (Florida) codename the Tamiami Trail Strangler. Active killing years,1994-1995: killed six prostitutes.
3) Norman Beckett (Mississippi) codename "Criptoe." Active Killing Years 1978-2002: Killed five women, including his mother, and potentially more.
4) Ethen Right Bashings (South Carolina) codename "Mister Maroon." Active Killing Years, 1990-1998: this one was a bit different because he only had three Confirmed kills; however, DNA evidence began linking to several other murders, making his body count unknown.
5) Rudolf Hill (Florida) codename The Daytona Beach Killer. Active killing years, 2005-2006: three confirmed kills and 7+ unconfirmed.
6) Timothy Kallonger (South Carolina): No codename; Active Killing Years 2003-2016: Although he didn’t have a famous killer nickname, what he did have was a laundry list of crimes, including seven murders and multiple sexual assaults with potentially more than ten victims.

Six was the number of Serial Killers I could come up with, and while it may seem like a small number, these six individuals had a large number of potential victims.
As was the case with killers from the shadows such as them, unless evidence was found linking them to the murder, frequently there would be dozens if not hundreds of unsolved cases which may have been their doing.
’Hm…that may be interesting,’ the further I delved into the chain of thoughts around "unsolved cases," I couldn’t help but think of a couple of linked cases from the 90s that were clearly the work of an unidentified Serial Killer.
’We can put that on the back burner for now, though, because…wait…oh ho ho, that could be fun.’ Just as I was about to move on and start plotting my next course of action, a little ditty went off in my head.
Jumping to my feet and rushing down the many isles of imaginary books representing my memory, I stopped in front of two large books standing alone on pedestals.
The first book, on the leftmost pedestal, was significantly larger than the second and white. There was no name, only a single image.
The image was of a crudely spray-painted yellow Smily face.
My eyes then snapped to the second book. It was bound in black leather, and like the leftmost book, it had no title or name, instead having a large image centered on the cover.
The image was another crudely drawn caricature in white embossed ink; it was a circle with a large cross through it, resembling a crosshair with the cross extending outside of the circle.
These particular books represented two of law enforcement’s largest serial murder cases still left unsolved even in the 2030s, the reason being the people they thought caused them had long since died.
However, now that I had gone back in time, I couldn’t help but get excited at the prospect of using my Talent to find out the truth.
The Smiley Face Murders and the Zodiac.
These two cold cases would become a large focus for me, and I couldn’t have been more excited to find out the truth thanks to having a resource NO ONE IN THE PAST HAD!
MY TALENT!
The thing about most of the so-called "Unsolved Murders" is that while the majority of them had suspects that could likely be the ones who caused them, Law enforcement had little to no evidence proving it was the individual who caused them.
But unlike law enforcement, I LITERALLY could read minds; all I needed to do was find the suspect and read their mind. If I did, I would have conclusive evidence that this person was or wasn’t the one who caused the murders.
When talking about mystery murders, two cases stuck out the most in my mind when I thought about unsolved murder cases.
The first was more of a theory that linked together over 40 murders, and that was the Smiley Face Murders.
Now, there is a lot of controversy surrounding this theory, yet there is FAR too much evidence linking the 45 murders for it to be a coincidence.
