Classroom M-217, as it was officially called, was once one of the five chemistry lab rooms on the main campus of my school, Unity High; I say once because, on record, it was no longer in use, not that it wasn’t needed, no on the contrary, with how many portable classrooms there were, alongside the over 7000 student body, every room mattered, however, after working my "Magic" this room fell off the grid, and was now just one of those doors that everyone assumed led to a storage room or something.
What I find funny is the room is actually attached to Mrs.Cargill’s room, with a storage room and door separating them.
Mind you, with how much work I’ve done to M-217, between removing windows, super soundproofing it, and reinforcing the walls, floor, and ceiling to the extent that even if a nuke went off nearby, it would be a bunker, it wasn’t like someone could hear or spy on my little, "Activities," and for the entirety of my High School life, this was where I resided.
Attending Classes? Meh, why bother when I have complete control over whoever I want, whenever I want?
What about grades? Heh, three strokes of a keyboard, and I could alter all that I wanted since I had basically rebuilt the entire digital footprint of Unity High School all so that I’d hide my presence from the ISP (internet service provider) along with anyone looking for signs of Returners or Players.
As for where the room was situated in terms of the campus blueprint, well, for starters, UHS (Unity High School) has two campuses, the Freshman and Main. The Freshman campus, where Brenden was stuck last year, is basically a redesigned elementary school with large walkways. Since it’s Florida, where it doesn’t get cold, everything is open and not in one singular building but instead a collective of many.
Then there’s the main campus, which looks like a Giant square with a massive courtyard in the center. In basic terms, the campus had Two floors and a 40-foot-tall bell tower in the center of the courtyard.
Classrooms line the entire footprint, with a cafeteria on the ground floor on the western side and a media center above it.
To the north is the Gym, in the center, with classrooms on either side above on the second floor and below on the ground floor.
To the West are the Performing Arts Center and Band Rooms, along with the student parking lots.
To the far east, on the other side of the cafeteria, there are more classrooms and a street that separates portable rooms from the main buildings.
Then there’s a Bus loop on the southern side, and last but not least, to the north, beyond the Gym, was a literal trailer park of portable classrooms and the Football Stadium.
As for my little M-217, it’s situated on the northeast corner of the main campus’s second floor.
As far as schools go, UHS was freaking massive, and since I was in not only marching band but also theatre in the Origin Timeline, I had done some traveling to other schools. Thus, I knew my school was, at the bare minimum, twice the size of the others in central Florida.
And while all the others, such as Brenden, Xilia, and Emilia, were going through daily classes and living through normal high school experiences, I was practically a ghost student in a literal man cave inside of a soundproof bunker.
With every Video Game console, an exceptionally expensive home brew PC with six monitors, a full fridge, bathroom, kitchen, and a bedroom, I had turned the once classroom into a literal apartment. The size of the former chemistry lab was roughly the right size for it…of course, after I did some structural modifications of my own to expand it.
Walking over to my PC rig, I sat down at the U-shaped desk and spent all of my 3rd period wasting time by day trading on the stock market, and by that, I mean earning almost a million dollars in 45 minutes.
It was not my best, but it was also not my worst trading session.
Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz
Looking away from my main monitor down at my phone, which had been upgraded to a smartphone not long ago, I noticed a chain of texts from my brother, demanding I come to the bell tower asap.
"Hmm, it looks like B-Lunch is starting." Getting up from my chair, I shoved my phone in my pocket and walked to the only way in and out of my room.
Pressing my palm against a digital scanner, the wall pushed in and slid to the side, giving me access to the storage room, which had a door out and one leading to Mrs.Cargill’s room.
Stepping out of the storage through the side door and into the muggy Florida summer day, I slowly made my way toward the courtyard, which, going at a normal pace, was about a 7-minute walk, and when I reached the balcony overlooking the large square courtyard, I was assaulted by the noisy atmosphere of hundreds of students on their first lunch break of the year.
Since I was on the second floor overlooking things from above, I was able to see a large crowd in front of the stone-stepped platform leading to the bell tower, and among them was a concerned-looking Brenden and Emilia.

’What was so damn important that you had to drag me away from my computer?’ establishing a telepathic link with my brother and sister-in-law, I asked, causing Brenden’s eyes to scan his surroundings for me before eventually finding me some distance away.
’Dumb ass, you made the fucking program to begin with, yet you forgot that sign-ups for the Central Florida Evolver College are today. Get your emo ass down here and sign up already.’
Blinking twice, I looked down at my attire and shrugged. Since I had an affinity for wearing blacks and reds all the time, of course, I blended in well with the Goth and Emo crowd, but it was actually my jet-black hair and sidebang that firmly planted my ass in that clique.
Also, FUCK YOU, I am no edge lord, I can hear your thoughts remember, and in my defense, my real self needs to look far different from either Nexus with his white hair or Xipher and his Dirty Blond. So, dying my hair black was what I came up with.
