The Sudden loss of opponents caused a wave of confusion to wash over the NightWalker as the Monster tilted its head and watched everyone pulling away from it.

Luckily, its sense of hearing had been practically decimated by the concussive blasts it had received continuously over the last half hour. And since it was deaf at the moment, the NightWalker couldn’t hear the faint crackling taking over the air.

BA BOOOOM

Like angry fangs falling from all around, hundreds of bolts of lightning rained down from the heavens, smashing directly into the Monster, who hadn’t had a moment to drop its arms before being electrocuted.

Blue, Red, Purple, and yes, even yellow lightning descended in droves, each landing on its mark in succession.

(OFF THE PLATFORM NOW!) As the last bolts tore away from the clouds above, I gave the order and was suddenly bearing the entire weight of the meteor, and in that split second, before I gave it downward momentum, I felt my whole body ripping to shreds due to the immense weight I was holding.

Still, I persisted; I had to do this, if not to create an imposing image in the minds of the people, then…well for the memes. Controlling every single available Drone, I filmed the final scene of the battle.

I was standing valiant and defiantly against a seemingly unbeatable foe, the hopes of everyone riding on my final monumental attack, and all it needed now was a phrase, one that would cringe every weeb in existence yet give inspiration to those who weren’t in the know.

"Final Act: Chibaku-Dama!" Using my talent to manipulate my arms, I slammed both down until my palms smacked onto the platform. At that moment, two things happened.

From above, the meteor rapidly accelerated, spelling demise for anything left on the platform. Yet I didn’t mind it one bit because I already knew I would be fine.

As all feeling left my legs and I began to fall forward, I smelled a hint of strawberry coconut shampoo, followed by a body colliding with my own.

Xilia didn’t need to be told a thing; she was already privy to what was happening and knew that I’d have to be the one staying back to drag the rock down with enough force to end the NightWalker.

Thus, she stayed back, and once the object in the sky was in motion, she rushed forward, caught me, and made a break for the edge of the platform.

Entrusting my safety to Xilia, I allowed her to carry me backward. At the same time, my eyes never left the frozen-in-place, mostly dead Monster, but that could only last until we were clear of the platform because right before the final impact occurred, Xilia and I were airborne as she jumped with everything she had, trying to put as much distance as possible between us and the…

BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM

FWOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHH

’HANG ON!’ Xilia screamed into the telepathic connection as the shockwave from the meteor hitting the indestructible gate platform smashed into us and sent us cartwheeling through the air for hundreds of feet.

Spinning out of control and wayyy too far off the ground, Xilia wrapped me up in her arms so that we didn’t get separated, but that all came to a sudden halt as a tailwind kicked up and caught us, slowing our forward momentum before gently placing us both on the ground.

With some effort, I looked around and noticed we were half a mile away from the platform, surrounded by the members of the Air Squad.

’My helmet’ Since my body was so destroyed that I couldn’t move my arm high enough, I had Xilia press the button on my collar to collapse my helmet and shot a smile at the leader of the Air-Squad, a young Greek lady named Anemos.

"Nice Catch, Ann," I said before falling into a fit of coughs.

"You were the last ones up there. Deplas **Vector Leader** and I already worked out how to ensure the safety of the other heroes, and with you guys being last and us being the fastest, we were waiting. The healers are on the way, so hang in there, Nexus." With an eye twitching at me, calling her a nickname instead of her hero name, Anemos sent her people off to expedite the arrival of the other heroes.

Fortunately, or rather UNFORTUNATELY for me, the first person they thought to grab was a certain Pink hero who had confessed her love for me not long ago.

With some waterworks and being forced to endure her stroking my hair, I was in recovery mode by the time my group arrived…and of course, came the shit-talking I had expected after naming the final Act.

’Reallly, REALLLY, Chibaku-Dama, Are you that big of a fucking weeb Taylor? Genki-Dama sure, Chibaku-Tensei, EITHER WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE, hell I would have even accepted planetary devastation or spirit bomb, but NOOooOOoo~ you had to get creative and merge them.’ Standing alongside Sonas, Emilia, and Dad, Brenden was half mocking and half actually angry with me.

’You sound jealous, little brother. Is it that you’ve realized little kids will play heroes with Me as the Star and run around shouting the Acts out loud, or maybe the action figures I have in the works.’ Wearing a shit-eating grin, I fought back verbally, causing my brother to stiffen as realization set in.

’FUCK! I SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHOUTING OUT ATTACK NAMES TOO, DAMN IT!’ Tearing at his hair, Brenden started pacing around in anxiety.

’Just look at Sonas; he’s gonna have his fans too, but what about you, Marek, the silent melee fighter who shoots air darts? HAH!’

’I thought you were very handsome, darling; I am sure you’ll have plenty of fans.’ Rushing to support her husband, Emilia spouted off words of encouragement that only made me laugh harder.

"Nexus, please stop squirming; I know it’s uncomfortable, but you need to stay still, or all the work I’m doing will be undone." Apparently, I had been moving enough to get scolded by Piniki and earned some unhappy glances from the other healers, of which…there were eight.

Basically, I was completely surrounded by people using healing talents…closing my eyes and laying there like a good patient, I had one final thought.

’Eh…I might have gone a bit overboard this time.’
