’You act as if that’s an easy task; even if we hit this thing with all we’ve got, it isn’t going to die; the only way to beat it is with constant chip damage!’ Stomping the ground, I manifested dozens of six-inch wide spiked pillars, which erupted from the ground and stabbed at the NightWalker. Still, as had happened before, after the initial impact, the points disintegrated, leaving a bunch of finger-like pillars hanging over top of the downed monster like a ribcage.

"Huff Huff," panting as he landed back on the ground, Brenden sucked in as much air as he could while continuing to unleash wave after wave of air pressure-filled punches alongside our Father, and each impact with the NightWalker caused its body to quiver.

Meanwhile, Emilia, seeing an opportunity, put herself in a position that was both safe and close enough to the monster where her Talent skills were in range before waving her hands like a mystic and manifesting five barrier rings, one for the monster’s neck, then each arm and leg, pinning it to the mountainside.

It wasn’t much, and if the monster could collect itself for longer than a second, it would be able to break free. However, with the constant pressure being applied by the Trio of Dad, Brenden, and Sonas, the NightWalker was getting utterly battered to death.

((Piniki I need a Stamina boost!)) Brenden shouted over the comms, causing the pink-suited hero to rush forward and administer one of her Recharge Skills.

Being bathed in a soft pink light, Brenden was soon back to full power and continued his assault, but soon after, it was Dad who needed aid, then Sonas, and with each recharge, Piniki’s face paled with exhaustion.

Yet even with the constant attacks landing on the monster, it didn’t seem to be injured at all; if anything, it was only getting more and more annoyed with each hit until it could no longer sit still due to aggravation.

"GAOOOOOOO!" with a forceful roar, the NightWalker sat up with such force that it shattered Emilia’s collar, and although being battered from all sides, it fought back.

Extricating its left arm from the barrier shackling its limb to the mountain, the monster swiped at the incoming attacks with such speed and agility that it was almost impossible to see.

But thanks to my perception, I was able to notice that it was literally attacking each burst of air pressure, dissolving it, and moving on to the next.

From a third-person perspective, with time slowed down enough to see the attacks, it would almost appear as if it were merely swatting gnats or flies away and not full-on attacks equivalent to miniature missile strikes.

In the midst of this, it was able to free its right arm, and with it, the NightWalker swiped away the bindings on its ankles and was back on its feet, albeit still swatting away attacks, while the Trio took several steps backward.

As this was transpiring, I wasn’t sitting around twiddling my thumbs. Instead, I had spent those couple of minutes setting up a trap nearly invisible to the naked eye.

Scattered around the entire platform was a thin, almost invisible layer of particle dirt, which dusted the surface and gave me the resources I needed. Normally, I would have started this the moment I stepped foot on the platform.

Unfortunately, with how many players were constantly walking around, it was too inefficient to do so since they would be treading and accumulating what ever I put down.

But now that the platform was relatively free of bodies apart from my team, it was the perfect time.

While I couldn’t distribute the same level of force with my attacks as, say, Brenden or my Father, that didn’t mean I couldn’t overwhelm the opponent with so many attacks that it would be virtually impossible to move.

((JUMP!)) Sensing that everyone was getting tired and needed a moment to recover with some Particle water, I shouted into the comms, and once the last pair of feet left the ground, I made my move.

"Third Act, Replicating Dome!" Spotting off some nonsense for the people at home watching the fight on TV, I activated my Geomancy and pulled out all the stops to put on a good show.

Hopping forward, I crossed my arms over my chest and pulled as if some invisible thread were attached to each finger. Landing left foot forward, I spun my arms around with my palms facing out and swiped, and in an instant, thousands of spiked pillars tore away from the ground and launched themselves at the NightWalker.

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM BOOM

With it having stepped away from the Mountain ledge, it was surrounded by my spikes, and I didn’t stop there. Covering the NightWalker like a dome of destruction or iron maiden, the spiked pillars came in waves; once the point was shattered on one, it would withdraw back into the ground, and a new one would take its place.

Resembling a giant anemone attacking something in the center, thousands of spikes attacked a second, generating a sound that was no different than hundreds of jackhammers activating at the same time.

"Holy crap!" not far away, taking a sip of Alpha Particle water, Sonas couldn’t stop himself from commenting on what was happening because I was pulling off something that took the combined efforts of him, my Dad, and Brenden, solo.

"Stop Gawking and Chug your water, idiot; Nexus can’t hold it for long!" Piniki shouted as she smacked the idiot in the back of his head and continued drinking down her water.

((You guys have at best, two minutes until I’m completely drained of PC, charge up as much as possible)) speaking in a calm voice, free of exhaustion, my arms never stopped moving as I continuously swiped at the air, articulating my fingers and matching the movements of the pillars.

With the NightWalker being completely covered and only seen through the rare gap in the dome, it was hard to tell how much damage I was doing to it. Still, one thing was for sure: like it had been doing with the Trio’s attacks, the thing was constantly moving, batting, swiping, punching, and even headbutting every single spike that came near it.
