Standing my ground as the horde of Zombies rushed through the hole opened up by the injured Death Knight Grade Undead that Brenden had been fighting, I activated my Psy-Kinesis, then triggered my Augmentation skill, enhancing my legs to the maximum.

Then, with a smirk plastered across my hidden lips, I raised up the frisbee-sized device, toggled two switches, and flung it directly at the DK.

The instant the disk left my hand, I kicked off the ground, propelling myself backward, and watched as the undead acted in a manner befitting a monster of its intelligence.

Believing the disk to be a weak attack, the undead moved to slash through it with its sword, but right before it made contact with the device, my chilling voice filled the tunnel.

"Art…Is an Implosion!"

Vvvvrrrrruuummmmm

Spinning around, I didn’t look back when I heard the strange vibration-style sound and instead pumped my legs as hard as I could, accelerating faster than ever before in an attempt to escape the chaos I had just inflicted on the Undead Caverns.

2, 5, 10 miles, I ran as fast as I possibly could, knowing that behind me was a literal black hole, and with each step I took, I could feel a counterforce trying to suck me back toward ground zero.

It wasn’t just me either; I could feel everything moving around me: loose chunks of rocks, particles, hell, even the oxygen in the tunnels was being siphoned toward the epicenter of the implosion I had manifested.

Now, you may be wondering how all this was possible, and as I felt the trickle of sweat sliding from my temple toward the back of my head, I, too, was a bit confused with this type of reaction.

Sure, I had attempted similar things in the past; it really wasn’t that difficult to cause the Ambient particles to crash into each other like you would with, say, a massive supercollider; all you needed to do was introduce a counterforce that would force them to condense.

With how volatile the makeup of the air particle content was, I knew there would be a rather large effect when I made three different Ranked particles try fighting, but never before had the impact been so large.

That could only lead me to believe that I was incorrect in what I had sensed; it wasn’t just Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Particles in the air; nearly all of the known ranks must have been present in varying consistencies, and THAT was an actual problem.

Because if there were traces of Zeta and Theta on top of Delta particles, what I would be experiencing next….was going to hurt.

WWWOOOOSHHHh

Rumble rumble rumble

As if on queue, a sudden hot blast of particle-infused energy shot past me, lifting me off my feet and making me airborne, swept along by its will.

’Fuck, fuck, fuck, come on, stabilize yourself, ride the wind, fuck it, BODY SURF THE WIND,’ I screamed mentally as I did all I could not to end up spinning or tumbling uncontrollably.

Eventually, after 30 seconds, I was able to right myself in a position akin to a diver jumping into a pool. Instead of being vertical, I was horizontal as I shot through the tunnels like a bullet.

Occasionally, I would tuck my arms in as I perceived the wall getting too close to my body. On more than one occasion, I even slammed into some of the twists and turns, but with the force from my little stunt being so strong, I was able to pretty much stay in the center of the Jetstream and was relatively unharmed.

With me being so distracted by literally flying through the tunnels, I easily lost track of time, and it wasn’t until I saw a bright light at the end of the tunnel, which started as the size of a pinprick, that I realized just how far I had come.

There are hundreds of different tunnels and entrances all over the caverns. I’ll be honest: this entire time, I had really only traversed a handful of them, so when I saw the light, I knew where I was rather quickly, as before my messing with the gate, this light I was heading toward, was where I had fought the Drake.

’Guess this is my stop; the second I breach the open cavernous area, the winds carrying me will fill it like water into a bowl before redirecting down a different tunnel. The question is, how the hell do I get outta this Jetstream.’

Coming up with a plan on the fly is, of course, one of my specialties, so thinking on my feet, I dug through my inventory, got my rope and a couple of daggers, and quickly cut off a 8-foot-long piece before securing two daggers to it like a grappling hook.

Then, as I blasted into the Cavern where I had fought the Drake, I pushed my Augmentation skill to its newfound Beta-Rank limits into my arms and the rope before wrapping the free end around my wrist and throwing it with all my might at the wall.

With a soft thunk, the blades bit into the rock, and I swung out of the Jetstream….before crashing into the wall with a sickening THUD.

6C body with high stats and armor or not, I was traveling at over 200 miles an hour, so when I hit the wall, all I felt was the ice-cold sensation that came with entering Shock, as nearly every bone in my body was instantly shattered.

Fighting to stay conscious, I felt my bloodied and broken body going colder and colder with each passing second as the chilling embrace of Death Called to me; however, even that was short-lived, as half a second after my impact with the wall, a world-shattering explosion ruptured my eardrums.

Due to the introduction of the unanticipated High Ranked Particles, my little implosion expanded. It transformed into a massive explosion, not only obliterating any trace of particles at ground zero but also in a large portion of the tunnels I had been in.

With my arms still under Augmentation and the world slowly fading to black, I knew there was only one way for me to recover from this, so using all my willpower, I reached into my inventory and shakily withdrew one of the Beta-Grade Elixirs.

And right as I somehow removed the cork and poured the contents into my mouth, everything went black…and I passed out.
