There are times in my life when I feel borderline omniscient solely due to my observation abilities in tandem with my Talent. However, at the end of the day, I am FAR from all-knowing; thus, my need to seek higher forms of knowledge, and right now…was proving just how little I knew about certain things.

For three hours straight, all I did was input PC into the Instance Gate, one point at a time, and it wasn’t until I had chugged down a dozen bottles of particle water and burned through well over 1000 PCs that I heard the faint click from the bronze gate, followed by the opening of a small one-foot door.

"About god damn time," I muttered as I swung forward slightly and gently placed the small driftwood totem into the empty compartment, and not even a fraction of a second after my hand left the little compartment did the door slam shut, followed by the sound of dozens of latches clinking into place.

"I feel like I’m missing something here…but for some reason…I can’t remember…

A bright flash of light cut off my words…then… Darkness.

"Fuc…" I tried to scream, only to suddenly find myself unable to do so.

At the time, I had no idea what happened, but looking back now, I find it funny, and I can even bet Arkadia was laughing its ass off at my sheer stupidity.

When a Gate is reset due to a new Source object being placed within its compartment, all the energy used to manifest everything within the Instance’s confines erupts all at once into the lobby.

The reason I didn’t remember what was going to happen but had an ominous feeling was that the very same thing had happened the last time I ran this experiment, only that time, Arkadia ran interference and, well…wiped that little tidbit from my memory.

Who would have thought ME, the Psy-Kinetic, would have his mind tampered with? But well, that was the case…thankfully, the expulsion of Particles was harmless. Other than the initial impact of the dense wave hitting my body and throwing me hundreds of feet across the lobby, I was uninjured, with the only effect being me being knocked out.

-21 hours later-

"Hey, fuckface, if you don’t wake up, ima throw you into the lake and watch you drown."

"Brenden, don’t talk to your brother like that."

"Oh, come on, Dad, I’m like 50 something now; also, why can HE swear around you but not me? Some people would call that favoritism."

"Hardly, I love all my children the same and don’t favor one over any other."

"Ppfft, bullshit, I’ve heard you straight up say on more than one occasion that Taylor is your favorite Kid."

"I have no recollection of the events you’re talking about."

"Uh, huh, surrrre you don’t,"

Thud

"Brenden, don’t kick Taylor like that. I swear, it’s like you two never grew up, still fighting even at your age."

Thud, thud.

"Oh, and what’s your excuse for kicking him, Dad?"

"Hm? I did no such thing."

"I LITERALLY JUST WATCHED YOU DO IT!"

"I see no camera in your hand; your words are inadmissible in court."

THUD-GRAB-

"Wahhh"

"FUCK OFF!" Catching Brenden’s foot, I suddenly sat up like a certain undead Wrestler and flung my little…

Watching Brenden fly through the air, I blinked three times and noticed something pretty interesting.

First off, the person I had just thrown was no five-year-old little brother of mine; instead, he appeared to be around ten years old or maybe in his pre-teen years.

Then there was my hand, which was several times the size it had been before I had…I had…

"Huh…" Taking in my surroundings, I noticed I was a sizeable distance away from the B….Gold Gate…

"What…" I stated aloud while squinting and leaning forward.

"Ok, calm down, don’t freak out,"

"Probably not a bad idea there, Taylor."

Although I had been awake before my brother had kicked me the first time and heard the entire conversation between him and my Father, there was too much going on around me for my brain to catch up with, so when my Dad finally addressed me, my head snapped in his direction. I suddenly felt a stinging sensation coming from my eyes.

"Woah, not the greeting I was expecting from you; I never thought you would cry just by seeing this old mug of mine."

"Whose crying? Not me," I defiantly stated with a sniffle and rub of my eyes before jumping to my feet; then, with a slight wobble, I rushed forward and hugged my Father.

"HELLO DROWNING OVER HERE!" Brenden screamed as he flailed about in a large, crystalline body of water that had replaced the former particle lake.

"No, you’re not; I taught both of you how to swim, plus if you can talk, you can breathe, so you ain’t drowning," Dad said while patting my back.

"Welcome to 1999, Dad," Breaking off the embrace, I took a step back and examined my Father, who, apart from a different look in his eyes, appeared exactly the same as he had when I saw him come home from work.

"I look pretty good for a dead guy, don’t I, son," Dad said with a chuckle as he turned to watch Brenden Struggling to swim in the particle water.

"Eh, Origin Timeline you looked goofy as hell in your 40s, skinny, with chicken legs; at least this time around, I was feeding you resources, so you bulked up some," I said with a shrug while examining him for any signs of Particle Sickness.

"Your brother filled me in on my situation but had no idea what you were planning, so what’s the deal? I don’t think I’ve seen or heard of this Instance before."

"I’d hope you haven’t because then I’d have to call you a liar considering this USED to be the Caverns, but now, it’s something more…I worked a little magic of sorts and modified the Instance…We could call this the Necro-Caverns, or Caverns of the Undead now."
