"Think, what recipes do I not know that will benefit me…" Although I had half settled on taking the Talent Upgrade to unlock my Geomancy Talent fully, I still weighed it against the potential of getting a solid Recipe.

"Realistically speaking, there are only 2 Recipes I would even consider valuable to Beta-Grade, the one for Beta Particle water, and the one for Beta Elixirs…of which I already know one."

It didn’t take a genius to figure out how Particle water formed; it took hundreds if not thousands of years under constant bombardment of particles to transform normally occurring water into the valuable resource, and up until a few minutes ago, I was missing a valuable key in transforming all of my Alpha water.

High-Grade Particle Stones.

"I am sure I can find out the golden ratio of ground-up particle stone to Alpha Grade Particle Water, and when I do, I will be able to concoct my own version of the resource…thus that leaves whether or not I want to get the Elixir recipe…but again I am at an impasse because I just got 5 of them."

"I don’t know what Brenden got, but if he got a few Elixirs and Stones too…then we are sitting pretty, and that leaves only option one."

Having thought out my choice, I finally reached out and poked my system display. With a flash of golden light, a small token appeared in the palm of my hand.

"But….do I upgrade my Geomancy…or go for a third talent?" Pausing for a moment and rolling the circular stone token around my palm, my attention was suddenly ripped away as I felt the particle density in the room declining rapidly, followed by the door opening and a frantic little brother bursting into the room.

"Dad’s at work, FUCK! I wanted to bring him back from the Origin Timeline, but NOOOOooOOo~ of course hes adulting… oh…what did you get?" Noticing the token in my hand, Brenden padded over and plopped down in front of me.

"Talent Token," I said with a raised eyebrow and a bit of annoyance on my face.

"Oh, finally gonna upgrade that trash Geomancy you’ve got into a real Talent; I mean, don’t get me wrong, given enough training and shit, I’m sure Geo Bullet would be pretty damn strong of a tool for you…but it’s useless right now."

"Before you rudely interrupted my thinking, I was debating on whether or not I roll for a third fully unlocked Talent or upgrade my second one…"

"What kind of dumb question is that? Of course, you go for a new Talent; I mean, think about it…" Brenden’s words faded into background noise as I ignored him and finally made my decision to destroy the token.

Upon Crushing it, the item turned into fine powder that transformed into specs of light, and a notification appeared on my system display.

[Option 1: Upgrade a previously Obtained Restricted Talent]

[Option 2: Spin the Talent wheel and obtain a New Unlocked Talent]

Feeling that the longer I waited, the more I would second guess myself, I reached up and flicked Option One, which triggered another wave of notifications to flood my display.

{Congratulations, you have unlocked your Geomancy Talent and now have full access to it as if it were your natural-born Talent.}

{You have unlocked the Talent Skill: Geo-Spike}

{You have unlocked the Talent Skill: Geo-Wall}

{You have unlocked the Talent Skill: Dust Manipulation}

"Oh shit…you broke it…what did you choose? Did you get a new Talent? Lemmie guess, it’s something edgy like Umbramancy or DarkFire…maybe lightning…oh if it’s lightning, you could go Super Saiyan with Lightning armor…" The longer I allowed it, the more erratic my brother’s babbling became until, finally, I had heard enough.

"Brenden…"

"Huh? What." At some point, he had gotten to his feet and was waving his arms, all animated while he spoke, but upon hearing me call out to him, my brother dropped his arms and looked at me in confusion.

"Will you shut the fuck up?" Staring at him with dead fish eyes, I spoke without emotion.

"Rude, I was just trying to help HMPH."

"No, you were being hyper like a five-year-old with ADHD…on second thought, you TECHNICALLY are a 5-year-old with ADHD, carry on."

"THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!" He screeched and launched himself at me, but I was faster; since there was no better time than the present to test out my new Skills, I went on the defensive.

Jumping backward, I reached into my inventory, grabbed hold of a shit ton of dirt I had collected to hide evidence in the Fae Island, and scattered it around the room.

For a second, I looked like a burst fire hydrant, only instead of water, I was launching out a shit ton of…well…dirt.

’Geomancy, Geo-Wall,’ activating my Talent and new skill, I waved my hand. I made a grasping motion toward a nearby cluster of dirt and punched forward; my motions resembled a certain Red Haired Sand ninja as I raised my arm toward the sky, bringing along with it a large amount of the dirt and cutting the room in half as I manifested a solid wall of which hardened into coarse stone.

"WHEN THE HELL DID YOU BECOME DIRT GARRA?" Brenden screamed as he juked to the side and narrowly dodged the growing wall of stone as it shot toward the ceiling.

"Tsk, too slow, even with an excessive amount of particles, I was barely able to erect the wall and transform the dirt into stone in time. Still not really combat-ready," I grumbled aloud before activating my second new skill,

"Geo-Spike," sliding my right foot backward, I took a stance and held my hands as if claws, with each finger moving to manipulate the outer shell of the wall as ten spikes began forming on Brenden’s side.

"Ohhhh shit… pfft hahaha" I heard him curse for a second before bursting out laughing, and it didn’t take me much to understand why he was cracking up.

Using my perception to see what was happening on the other side of the wall, I facepalmed hard enough to leave a print because those Intimidating Spikes I had tried to manifest…turned out looking like flaccid cocks instead.
