"Well, I remember seeing your name in the top 20 a week ago, and then you steadily began rising up the ranks until stopping at 8th place for a couple of days, then…all of a sudden, you were 7th, then 5th…I had been following your name as it was odd to see someone rapidly ascending ranks." Stiffening at my sudden question, Renni scrunched up her face in thought and started answering.
"Until your break out began, the only real changes constantly happening on a regular basis was the back and forth between Devastator and Bladestrike."
Hearing that prick’s name mentioned, my line of sight scanned through the top ten a few more times; my eyes stopped on Devastator, and just reading his name caused a frown to creep up on my lips.
’That asshat is steadily climbing the ranks, heh; I’m sure hes realized by now that his beloved Circulation Skill has fallen into the hands of another; however, I wonder if hes intelligent enough to put two and two together.’
’After all, by making such a rapid ascent up the rankings as I have, he has to be suspicious. If he isn’t….then he truly is a fool. Even if he does, I’m not too bothered, as I can easily handle him this time around.’ Propping myself up on my knees, I moved my system panel to the side and checked on Jennifer.
When I saw that she was still integrating the knowledge and thrashing about on the floor with no end in sight, I diverted my attention away and looked up at Renni, who was sitting on the bed, wearing a worried expression, waiting for a response from me.
"I had thought you were done when you reached 5th place, but no, in the span of an hour or so, you suddenly jumped to first…what did you do? The most I’ve been able to generate is seven years, yet you are almost at 500…" Renni asked with silent awe in her eyes.
’I killed a pack of Fae, over a hundred younglings, and several Elders; no big deal, I’ve done worse, but I think that by slaughtering a group of beings from the Myriad Race long before their reveal to the world, I stumbled upon a method of dragging the timeline forward…the only question is, can I replicate it, and if there is even a reason to do so.’ Swapping from using my voice to speaking directly into Renni’s mind, I contemplated what to do.
’Realistically, I only need a few more years to complete the quest…but after that, I’m not so sure it is worth it to go out of my way and hunt down beings from the Myriad Races.’
’Setting aside how annoying it would be to track them down, they live in tight-knit communities, and it will be no different from kicking a massive hornet’s nest.’
’Wait, wait, are you saying that you’ve already located and fought with the Fae? How is that even possible? They are one of the more illusive and secretive Races…’ Shocked by my revelation, Renni asked.
’Right place at the right time, I suppose. I just happened to get into it with a Returner on one of the Fae’s Ceremonial Islands, and when I spilled blood there, it alerted them to my presence, and things got messy from there.’ I spent the next few minutes explaining the situation with the Fae in-depth, and by the end of it, Renni was looking at me in a new light.
’How are your stats so high? I’ve been meaning to ask, but it felt…rude to push you for a reason, but I feel a sense of…reverence and the need to submit whenever you unleash your particles…what is that? Is it a Racial Subjugation or something?’
’We can discuss the topic of Racial Domination at another time; table that conversation for later. I have rewards that I need to claim. Oh yeah, before I do that, if Jennifer looks like she’s at death’s door for real, feed her this,’ Waving off her curiosity about what Renni felt whenever I flared my Particles, I tossed her the High-Alpha Health Potion I had in reserve then uttered the command Arkadia required to obtain rewards.
’Arkadia, Claim Event Quest Rewards.’
[Congratulations on completing the Event Sub-Quest.]
[As you have gone above and beyond in pushing the Descent of Arkadia closer, you have been generously rewarded for your efforts.]

[All rewards have been deposited in the User’s inventory.]
Upon seeing my rewards from the quest, I felt the world around me spin and soon found myself staring up at the ceiling with glassy eyes.
There wasn’t a single thing on the list that wasn’t beyond my expectations, and even the amount of Ark-Coins was extravagant; it wasn’t nearly enough to cover my expenses until the time when Arkadia descended, but having a spare 232,000 High-Alpha coins would go a long way in my hands.
But the coins alone didn’t even come close to the actual monetary value of the items now resting in my inventory, especially the Particle Facilities.

Although it was random and would give me one of over a hundred different potential options, the ticket alone would easily go for millions of Gamma coins in the Origin Timeline, and the fact that it was an early reward blew my mind.
But after a little thought, I understood why it was issued earlier than the latter rewards; having two of them was bad enough, but four, there was simply no way Arkadia would let that one fly.
