’It’s time to go, say farewell, and we will leave,’ not bothering to care or be weary of what was going on in Jennifer’s head, I sent her a telepathic message, as I had done many times today, triggering the woman into action, as she set about shaking everyone’s hand.

About 20 minutes later, Jennifer and I were back on the sidewalk outside the building, waiting for a cab to pick us up, when I delved deeper into her mind with Telepathy.

From what I could tell, the woman was having full, in-depth conversations with herself…well, her two personalities were speaking, and the original one, which I had molded into my slave, was constantly arguing with the new Older persona.

’He STOLE IT. I don’t know how he knew, but he knows Everything, Jenny!’ the older voice screamed.

’No, Jennifer, Master Xipher didn’t steal anything; it was all his, to begin with, and we are nothing but his servants. Even if, on the off chance, he DID, what does it matter? Everything we have belongs to him.’ The original personality apparently called herself Jenny, versus the older one, who I guess was calling herself by their full name.

’Wrong, wrong, wrong, this is all wrong! All our hard work has vanished. IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING!’ Jennifer screamed.

’I don’t understand why you are fighting me like this, Jennifer; everything is as it was meant to be. Master Xipher’s plans all turned out as he expected.’ Unphased by the screaming and ranting older voice, Jenny lazily responded without a care in the world.

It was evident that my brainwashing was fully on display; as to Jenny, I could do no wrong and was always right.

Staring forward, I continued eavesdropping on their talks and was intrigued, and I even began taking mental notes, which were subsequently stored in my imagination library.

Since it was my first time experiencing true Dissociative Identity Disorder, I jotted every word they said to each other down, making sure to note the distinct difference between the two.

My observations continued until we finally arrived back at the London Ritz, and it was only upon stepping into my hotel room with Jennifer that I finally put an end to my studying of them.

’Ok, now that the Franchise is completely in my hands, there are only two tasks left on my agenda while I’m here in the UK.’ Glancing at the woman now sitting on my bed, I couldn’t help but hesitate to just off her right now.

The fact that she was presenting a psychological disorder, which I had tried so many times to replicate in my test subjects, put her a little higher up on my list of time fillers, so for now, I decided to let her live, at least for a few more days.

Still, since I had other things to do and didn’t wish to deal with her for the moment, I took a deep breath before chugging down a single high Alpha Particle potion, filling up my PC stock a decent amount, and using Coersion on the woman.

’You will fall into a deep sleep, only awakening to take care of bodily functions before returning to your slumber until the day I return.’

By the time the 25-word command took effect and Jennifer collapsed onto the bed asleep, I had already turned around and left the room.

Apart from killing her, I had one more task that had popped into my head when I booked the flight to London in the first place.

Originally, apart from dealing with the publishing company, I didn’t have much else to do here in the United Kingdom.

However, the only way I could book the trip here was if it was longer than a week, so I had eight days to myself, which left me somewhat helpless and stuck...That is until I remembered something big was happening not so far away from the City of London…in Manchester.

While not on my original list of people I had planned on interacting with, the fact that I was here in 1997 when a certain person was active was more than enough reason for me to pop in and scope out things.

Roughly four hours north by car was a man by the name of Harlow Sheffield—scratch that, Dr. Harlow Sheffield. I say the Doctor part because it is vitally important that the man was a Medical Doctor, as it was his means of indulgent in his hobby or fantasy.

I can already hear your thoughts, "Taylor…why are you suddenly interested in some random British Doctor…unless…"

Unless, indeed, that’s right, this man was no mere doctor; no, in fact, he would soon be prolific and notorious throughout not only the United Kingdom but also the world.

In the Origin Timeline, his actions would lead to the formation of multiple suspense and horror movie tropes involving doctors or surgeons, as he alone had a higher body count than pretty much any one person could ever hope to achieve…well, Pre-Arkadia’s Descent…I kind of smoke his number of bodies, but I digress.

Between 1975 and when he was caught in 1998, Dr. Harlow Sheffield murdered those placed in his care, racking up an impressive confirmed tally of 218 people, but it was believed he could be attributed to well over 250.

His weapon of choice was that nearly all of these murders were conducted with a lethal injection of a drug named diamorphine, a powerful sedative.

By abusing his authority, he would prey on those too sick to stop him or elderly patients who trusted him as their primary care physician. At one point, he even began making house calls to elderly patients wherein he would administer lethal doses of morphine, killing them in their own homes.

If I wanted to catch him in the act and interrogate him, it was now or never because come October 5th, 1998, he would be behind bars awaiting trial after being caught.

Leaving the London Ritz, I stepped out onto the street and began walking in the direction of the nearest train station. Although I could get a car to take me, it was easier and less intrusive to go by train instead.

Walking down the sidewalk, I couldn’t help but break into a wide and sadistic smile; it was time to meet my first Serial Killer from the past; it was time to meet the man who earned the moniker…Doctor Death.
