Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Train to Toronto
Thanks to using Shadow Movement, Lucifer was able to pass through the ticket gate without being detected.
After the man wearing the suit boarded the train, Lucifer immediately jumped into the restroom - which had no light, therefore the room was completely covered in darkness- to cancel the use of Shadow Movement. Then, Lucifer calmly walked out of the restroom as if nothing had happened.
It seemed that not many people were going to Toronto from this town, so there were a lot of empty seats. Lucifer chose a seat at the end near the window and sat down.
Now he had a bigger problem, which was what he should do from now on, what he should do in the future if he wanted to live.
Before, Lucifer had only been worried about living until tomorrow, so he had no plans for his future. Lucifer pondered for a while.
The train started rolling.
Suddenly, Lucifer seemed to remember something. The current timeline in Lucifer's novel was when his main character began attending the Atlas Hero Academy. Also known as Atlas Academy.
'Should I go there as well?'
Atlas Academy was an ideal place for someone like Lucifer. He could live in a dormitory, had delicious food without having to hunt, and most importantly, he could study at Atlas Academy.
In this world, Atlas Academy was an extremely popular school, where many talented people from all over the world as well as the children of big tycoons gather. It was so famous that no one in this world didn't know about it.
As long as Lucifer got a diploma from Atlas Academy, he would definitely get a job with a relatively good salary in the future. But that was not Lucifer's main purpose in coming to Atlas Academy.
His main purpose was to become stronger so that he could survive the disasters that would happen in the near future. And Atlas Academy was the perfect place for him to increase his strength.
But the important thing was that Lucifer didn't have the money to study there. Furthermore, Lucifer wasn't an exceptionally talented person.
'I guess the only way left is to take the scholarship test...'
The only way Lucifer could study there was to take a test that was held every year in every city in the world. If he had good results, he would be accepted into Atlas Academy without having to pay a single penny.
This was also the method the protagonist used to get to Atlas Academy.
Today was May 20th, the test would be held on July 1st, and the entrance ceremony would be on August 1st. That meant Lucifer only had a little over a month left to prepare for the test.
Even as the creator of this world, Lucifer couldn't help but feel a pang of nervousness. The reason was because he would have to compete with people who were even better than him in the test. But Lucifer had to get to Atlas Academy no matter what. And in order to achieve that goal, Lucifer was willing to do anything needed.
Just like that, the train had reached a tunnel. The final point of this tunnel would be Toronto, Lucifer's destination.
***
This tunnel was extremely long and there was no light at all. The train had been traveling for more than 30 minutes in this unilluminated tunnel but the train was still in the tunnel.
Because Lucifer had slept a lot in the morning, he didn't feel very sleepy now. So he had no options left but to look at the scenery outside, even though it was only black outside.
Suddenly, an announcement rang out throughout the train:
"We would like to inform you that this train is about to leave the tunnel. Please check your luggage to avoid leaving anything behind. Have a great time in Toronto!"
'I am almost there!'
Lucifer was looking forward to seeing Toronto. In the previous world, he had never had the chance to visit Toronto. It could be said that this was his first time here.
The train quickly left the tunnel. The dark scenery outside had now turned into a vibrant, beautiful scene.
Lucifer could see many tall buildings, but the most prominent was a tower that was much taller than the rest. In addition, Lucifer could observe many people and vehicles moving in the sky.
'So this is the future!'
The sky was completely clear and bright. But that also meant that Lucifer would not be able to use Shadow Movement. But that was not a big problem for him.
After about 5 minutes, the train finally stopped. Just like last time, Lucifer used Shadow Movement to merge with someone's shadow to be able to go outside.
***
'This place is really great!'
Lucifer was witnessing this beautiful city while enjoying the fresh and cool air. Even though there were a lot of vehicles here, for some reason the air was still very fresh. This surprised Lucifer a lot.
He had just spent about an hour walking around the city, but more crucially, he had no money. Money was essential for humans to live, and right now Lucifer had no money.
Lucifer was frustrated as he approached a deserted alley.
"Help!"
Lucifer was startled when he heard a girl's cry for help from the deserted alley. But then he decided to not care much about it and went somewhere else. There were a few kidnappings every day in the world after all.
"Don't touch me! I'm the daughter of the mayor of Toronto!"
Lucifer immediately dazed.
'What did she just say?'
If the kidnapped person was just an ordinary girl, Lucifer would just let it go, but if the kidnapped person was the mayor's daughter, Lucifer had to help. Evil must be punished.
Of course, Lucifer didn't help this girl because he hoped the mayor would owe him a favor. Lucifer simply wanted to carry out justice. Maybe so...

Lucifer peeked into that alley. Indeed, this place was very deserted, so the girl's screams wouldn't be heard.
In addition, the girl was surrounded by 2 people wearing a full black outfit. They were gagging and tying her up. They then put the girl in a container on a truck.
Since there was no sunlight in this alley, Lucifer quickly used Shadow Movement to move into the container to rescue the girl.
