Chapter 165: Reuniting With The Army

Vaneira sat on the couch and looked up at him the moment he walked in.

She looked pissed just seeing his face and her eyes burned with pure hatred. But her furious expression completely faltered the second Adrian casually dropped five hundred gold coins onto the table in front of her.

Vaneira stared at the pile of gold coins.

She sort of just gave in right there. Because five hundred gold coins was a ridiculous amount of money for a simple gate transfer. Even with all the heavy taxes she aggressively squeezed out of her own citizens, that gold was a massive, undeniable chunk of instant profit.

"Fine." Vaneira muttered bitterly. "You can use it."

She narrowed her eyes at the horse tied up outside. "Is it only the two of you?"

"Yeah." Adrian nodded.

"How far away are you going?" Vaneira asked immediately. "I am not going to send you across the entire continent. That is going to cost way too much of stored mana to power the gate."

"I just want you to send me to Duke Silas’s territory." Adrian told her.

"Okay, fine." Vaneira said. "That is not that far."

She quickly ran the mana calculations in her head.

’This is still a massive profit for me.’ Vaneira thought to herself. ’He is still just a gullible pushover. I can still take total advantage of his deep pockets.’

She smirked slightly. "Leave the money here and go use the gate."

Adrian did not care about her petty internal victory. He just left the gold on the table and walked straight out to the teleportation facility.

He stood in front of the teleportation gate. The operators quickly turned the runic array on and calibrated the spatial coordinates for the teleportation gate in the Duke’s territory. Then they gestured for him to step inside.

Adrian looked at the structure. It was almost half the size of the massive entrance gates back in Oresfall. And it was not exactly just an open archway. Even though people called it a teleportation gate, it looked more like a room. The entrance was huge, but to a room which had walls with glowing runes.

’Whatever.’ Adrian thought.

He took Aria’s hand and just walked right into the teleportation room.

The second he walked in, his stomach did a violent flip. Everything around him blurred into a crazy, high speed spin and his vision went black. He immediately felt sick and genuinely thought he was going to throw up all over the place.

Then the spinning suddenly stopped a second later.

He found himself standing in a very similar looking stone room. But he knew instantly that this was not the same place because when he looked outside the archway, the scenery was totally different. The teleportation rooms did not have doors to close so it was completely open to the outside.

He could clearly see what was outside and he could tell that he was definitely not in the Marchioness’s territory anymore.

Adrian stumbled out of the gate room. He felt sick, so he leaned against the outer stone wall just to keep himself standing.

He looked at a heavily armored soldier standing guard nearby.

"Can you tell me if the soldiers of Oresfall arrived here recently?" he asked and groaned loudly. He clutched his stomach hard just to fight the urge to throw up.

"Yes, my lord." The guard threw up a salute on the spot. "Duke Silas is waiting for you inside the estate, and so is your army."

Adrian nodded weakly. "Okay. Just give me a bit."

He stood there against the wall for around two full minutes just trying to recover himself.

But as he finally stood up straight, he noticed something weird.

Aria did not look sick at all. She was completely unfazed by the teleportation and it looked like she did not feel that horrible pukeish sensation. She just stood there looking totally fine.

’Well, at least she has some sort of natural resistance against this magic.’ Adrian thought.

He did not really think too much about it. But the reality was way different.

For Aria, this spatial distortion was something she was used to. Because back in her past life, she did not use a teleportation gate to move around. She could literally cast long distance teleportation spells herself and she used that high tier magic constantly to move around. Due to this, she was totally immune to the effects that came with teleportation.

Adrian finally stood properly and started walking. He headed straight up to the Duke’s massive mansion.

The soldiers guarding the front doors spotted him immediately, and rushed inside to deliver the news. Duke Silas personally walked out of the double doors a minute later to escort Adrian inside the estate.

And this was when Adrian finally saw the Duke’s entire family gathered in the main hall.

Silas had multiple kids running around the expensive looking rugs. And he had exactly three wives standing nearby, talking quietly amongst themselves.

Adrian leaned over to the Duke and lowered his voice.

"Lord Silas..." Adrian started. "You told me you were a massive playboy during your younger days. And you said Draven was always super serious about his training and his studies. So why do you only have three wives, while he has a lot of them?"

Silas let out a chuckle.

"Well. I learned quite a few things after all that fooling around in my younger days." Silas explained. "The sort of women that I actually like are incredibly rare. And even amongst them, there are certain specific qualities I look for."

Silas glanced warmly at his family.

"There are multiple women who do fit those categories." Silas continued. "But after fooling around for so long, you eventually understand one important truth. Having too many wives or lovers is not really a good thing. Because I personally want to show my love to each and every one of them properly. I do not want anyone in my household to feel neglected or ignored. And three was my limit." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Silas then looked at him.

"But for Draven? His needs are completely different from mine." he said. "He wants strong warriors who can help him defend his territory. And I am not saying he does not love his wives..."
