Chapter 2199: Chapter 2199: What If I Choose Neither?
Zevaney Kingsley’s heart raced, pounding relentlessly with a sense of impending doom, desperately trying to buy time.
"Oh, what do you want with me?"
Emma Gabehart peeked inside the car, noticing the left hand she tried to hide behind her back, grinning with her chin propped up, "Ms. Kingsley, are you on a phone call?"
Zevaney Kingsley froze completely, struggling to maintain her facade, her Apricot Eyes strained to stay calm, eager to decipher what she said.
Emma Gabehart wasn’t in a hurry, lazily tucked a Polish curl behind her ear, saying with a chuckle, "Why don’t you ever learn? Didn’t I mention before that if I were afraid of the Kingsley Family, I wouldn’t have approached you? You simply refuse to listen to sense."
Her voice carried a lazy yet faintly reproachful tone, capable of melting a man’s bones halfway, but unfortunately, Zevaney Kingsley had seen her ’brutal’ side, her heart had climbed up her throat, having no mood to appreciate the myriad charms of a beauty.
"Our boss wants to see you."
Emma Gabehart abandoned the unconscious driver and moved to the backseat where Zevaney Kingsley was.
Seeing her approach, Zevaney Kingsley’s hairs stood on end, relying on the car’s security system to buy some time.
Who knows, Emma Gabehart reached to pull the car door, couldn’t open it, didn’t hurry, murmured, then made a phone call.
Zevaney Kingsley couldn’t quite catch what she said.
She was sitting in the car, counting seconds like years, whispering a warning as in a desperate struggle: "I’m not the Sixth Elder, I advise you against being too arrogant."
Outside, Emma Gabehart had already inquired clearly, speaking softly to someone on the other end of the phone, "Alright, boss. Bye~"
She hung up decisively, took out a laser pen-like thing from her handbag, casually adjusted Zevaney Kingsley, "What did you just say? I didn’t catch that."
Zevaney Kingsley faintly heard a soft sound of the car lock opening inside the car, her body tensed up, nerves drawn like a bow, ready to snap at any moment.
Just then.
Crack.
The car door opened from outside.
Zevaney Kingsley watched Emma Gabehart effortlessly open the car door, leaning there watching her with a friendly manner, and asked, "Ms. Kingsley, are you coming with me, or shall I knock you out and take you away? You choose."
Zevaney Kingsley heard Willy Kingsley’s weak voice on the phone: "Zevaney, what’s happening there? Why do I hear voices? Who are you talking to?"
"Zevaney, where are you? I’m going to find you now."
Zevaney Kingsley felt reassured.
She raised her head, eyes flashing, looking towards Emma Gabehart, calmly said, "What if I choose neither?"
Emma Gabehart raised her brows, elongated her tone, and uttered a long ’Oh’, clearly viewing Zevaney as an idiot.
"But the people our boss wants to invite have all been invited. Ms. Kingsley doesn’t seem to be a difficult person to invite either. Since you don’t choose, I’ll have to choose for you."
"...Nathalie."
Zevaney Kingsley knew they were diamond moguls’ people, and the person behind the diamond moguls was Nathalie Quinlan.
She just began to say one word, suddenly felt a chill on her neck, a sharp pain paralyzed her whole body from the nape, her vision went dark, and she knew nothing.
Emma Gabehart coldly watched the girl slump into the back seat like a pile of mud, casually tossed the needle aside, and smugly notified the Jeep occupants.
"What the hell are you waiting for, hurry up and get down here and do your job."
