Chapter 2100: Chapter 2100: Leony Davidson Is Just Waiting to See Us Make Fools of Ourselves
Amadeus Yancey wasn’t taking her to The First Research Institute for the first time; he was already very familiar with the route.
In less than twenty minutes, he steadily parked the car on the road opposite The First Research Institute, watching as the girl unbuckled her seatbelt, grabbed her single shoulder bag, and got out of the car.
He rolled down the car window and casually said, "I’ll pick you up this afternoon."
Nathalie Quinlan had just closed the car door. Upon hearing this, she turned back with a slight frown, initially wanting to say it wasn’t necessary, but the words that came out were: "Okay."
As soon as she finished speaking, the phone in her pocket vibrated.
Nathalie Quinlan took out the phone from her pocket and glanced down at it.
It was Agnes Baker.
She didn’t answer and hung up the call.
Turning back, she waved briskly to the person in the car and walked coolly toward the institute: "I’m going in."
Amadeus Yancey watched as the girl entered the gates of The First Research Institute before he rolled up the car window, turned the car around, and drove the black SUV away from The First Research Institute.
...
Inside the research institute.
Level 8 laboratory.
The people at the Level 8 laboratory arrived exceptionally early today.
Normally, the members wouldn’t all be there until 8:20, but today they were all present by 8:00 in the morning.
Wincent Sullivan, Agnes Baker, and Williansen Barness also arrived early, staying together with Harvey Cadorette and Denny Harrison.
Meanwhile, Leony Davidson’s group had quite a few people, and compared to them, they were all official members of the Level 8 laboratory.
In contrast, Harvey Cadorette’s group appeared weak and somewhat shabby.
Leony Davidson had arrived early and had changed into a lab coat. Her tall figure and outstanding appearance stood out among the group, drawing immediate attention to her.
"Harvey, Nathalie Quinlan hasn’t arrived yet?" Leony Davidson, having been chatting with the chubby guys beside her for a while, looked at Harvey Cadorette and asked as 8:30 approached.
Previously, she had always been polite to Harvey Cadorette, but this time her tone was particularly casual, showing her dissatisfaction with Harvey Cadorette not siding with her this time.
Harvey Cadorette’s dark face looked simple and honest, yet he had his own principles, responding neither humbly nor arrogantly: "It’s not 8:30 yet, no need to rush."
Leony Davidson’s eyes turned cold, but she didn’t say anything and turned her head to chat with the people beside her again.
Their conversation was lively, but the atmosphere at Williansen Barness’s side was like ice and fire.
Even Denny Harrison couldn’t help but ask Agnes Baker, "Agnes, haven’t you reached Nathalie yet?"
Agnes Baker had just called Nathalie and shook her head worriedly upon hearing the question: "I called her, she didn’t answer."
Williansen Barness frowned, his usually handsome face showing some heaviness. He stood up and said, "I’ll go out and take a look."
"Don’t be impulsive." Wincent Sullivan grabbed his arm, stopping him: "If you go out, Leony Davidson and the others will be even more smug."
Williansen Barness frowned and looked back at him.
Wincent Sullivan calmly said, "They’re just waiting to see us make a fool of ourselves."
Williansen Barness looked at the other side again. Leony Davidson and her group seemed to be chatting, but their eyes kept darting over to them, clearly watching their movements.
If he went out looking for someone, Leony Davidson would surely mock them, probably even saying Nathalie had chickened out.
Williansen Barness suppressed the frustration in his chest, kept a straight face, and silently sat back down.
Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait much longer for Nathalie.
At 8:28, with just two minutes to go before 8:30, the girl wearing a duckbill cap appeared punctually at the entrance of the Level 8 laboratory.
