Chapter 893: Chapter 919: Don’t Let Me Die (5)

Mia Ginger answered this question several times throughout the day with helplessness: "I accidentally twisted it."

"You’re injured all year round." Louis Cox also got up from the sofa, frowned, and said, "If it’s inconvenient, you should’ve said so earlier, and I could have someone take him back."

"He was in a hurry. His phone was off, and he didn’t go to school. We were afraid something happened to him, so we’ve been looking for him all morning."

Louis Cox: "..."

He was also woken up early by Bob Ginger’s call and brought him over reluctantly.

He knew quite well about the Ginger Family’s affairs and was also aware of Bob’s bad mood, so he didn’t inform Mia at first.

Now knowing that she had been looking all morning, he certainly wouldn’t say anything to make himself unpopular, so he changed the subject: "He’s sleeping inside. Are you taking him now, or waiting for him to wake up?"

"I’ll take a look at him first."

After speaking, Mia stepped inside.

Bob Ginger was wearing a uniform shirt and trousers, with a jacket covering him, lying flat on the bed, his cheeks slightly flushed, looking very peaceful, like a sleeping handsome boy from a comic.

"Sigh." Mia sighed in relief.

Having run all morning, she sat sideways on the bed, staring at him.

While she was watching Bob, Louis stood beside her, lowering his eyes to watch her too. After a while, he suddenly said, "You and this kid have a pretty good relationship."

"Bob Ginger is a good kid."

Louis frowned again, "Why do you sound so mature even though you’re not much older?"

He didn’t like listening.

Ever since Mia returned to the Ginger Family, he had always felt she bore too much and was stubbornly unyielding, unwilling to listen to advice, insisting on enduring grievances that made him angry.

Seeing her a few days ago, she seemed weighed down by worries.

Seeing her again today, he suddenly sensed that the Mia Ginger he knew had gradually changed.

He couldn’t quite pinpoint what had changed; it was just different from before, and it made his heart ache.

Louis furrowed his brows in thought for a long time and concluded it was the word "endure."

At school, she maneuvered verbally with those reporters, and now she’s anxious and worried about Bob Ginger. Perhaps she’s grown up; she understands a bit about human relations, not as cold and stubborn as she used to be, no longer bristling with thorns that pricked anyone who got close.

Now, those thorns seemed to be softening, and perhaps soon, they would gradually die from their roots and fall off.

Just like him.

Time truly is what changes people the most. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

As you care about more, have more to consider, people can no longer act recklessly.

Louis smiled to himself, lowering his head.

Mia heard him, turned to glance at him, pursed her lips, and asked, "How have you been lately?"

The soft light in the box lit up her face. Louis looked at her and slowly curled his lips into a smile, "I’m doing well."

"That’s good." Mia nodded, not knowing what else to say.

A few minutes later, Aiden Jiang and Aurora Cooper arrived.

Louis had the bodyguards carry Bob Ginger out to their car’s back seat.

Aurora and Aiden expressed their gratitude and took Bob back first.

They only had one car, so there wasn’t enough room. Mia couldn’t refuse and ended up riding back to the Cloudy Capital with Jake Lee in Louis’s car.

Little Patten drove, with Jake in the passenger seat, while Mia, Louis, and Little Maeve sat together in the back.

Maeve had grown taller, her cheeks chubbier than before, and she was quite active, unable to sit still, twisting about and laughing while she playfully teased the two of them.

Mia watched her, feeling both amused and helpless.
