Chapter 88: Warning.

Lurgard.

I stared at the file Marshall had sent me a few minutes earlier, my eyes fixed on the contents, completely still as the weight of what I was reading sank deeper into me.

For a moment, I couldn’t even react.

I was dumbfounded.

Theresa had actually gone through all of this...far more than I had ever imagined. Each page revealed another layer of pain, humiliation, and struggle that she had silently endured without anyone truly stepping in for her.

And the more I read, the heavier something became inside my chest.

A strange, unspoken vow formed in me at that moment.

I would never make things difficult for her again.

No matter what it took, I would obey her words, her decisions, her boundaries—everything she said, I would respect without hesitation. If she needed space, I would give it. If she needed protection, I would be there.

But that didn’t erase the other emotion rising within me.

Because Alex still had to pay.

Daring to put her through something like this... daring to reduce her to this state...

I clenched my jaw tightly, the anger returning in waves.

I placed a call immediately, my thumb pressing down firmly as I dialed Marshall’s number. The phone rang only once before he picked up.

"Yes, Alpha," Marshall answered promptly.

"Marshall," I said, my tone steady and controlled, though my grip on the phone tightened slightly, betraying the rage I was holding back. "I need you to contact all major investors of the Bloodfang Group."

There was a brief pause on the other end.

"Yes, Alpha!" he responded quickly. "But what should I tell them...?" he asked cautiously.

"I want you to negotiate a deal with them," I stated firmly, my authority clear in every word.

A beat passed. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Then I continued, voice colder now.

"Make them all pull out their investments from the Bloodfang Group."

A sharp silence followed.

"But Alpha...!" Marshall began, his tone clearly filled with surprise and hesitation, as though he couldn’t fully believe what he had just been instructed to do.

The shock in his voice was evident, but I didn’t allow him the chance to continue.

"No buts," I cut in immediately, my voice sharp and final, leaving no room for argument or delay. "Get everything sorted out. You will only call me to inform me of progress."

There was a brief silence on the other end as my words settled in.

I paused for a moment, my thoughts already shifting ahead, carefully mapping out the slow collapse I intended to create. Every step needed to be precise, controlled, and deliberate. Rushing it would only ruin the outcome.

"I don’t want it to happen all at once," I added more quietly, my tone lowering slightly but still firm. "It has to be gradual... controlled. So when you reach agreements with them, you will report every detail back to me."

Another short pause followed.

"Yes, Alpha," Marshall finally responded, his voice steady again as he accepted the instruction.

Without saying anything further, I ended the call immediately.

I leaned back slightly, my gaze hardening as I stared ahead, my fists slowly tightening at my sides.

"I will make you bleed, Alex," I muttered under my breath, the words low but filled with absolute certainty.

I walked back toward Theresa’s ward, my mind still unsettled and my mood far from calm. But just before I could step inside, something caught my attention at the corner of my eye.

It was her.

The same mad woman who had annoyed Theresa earlier.

My expression darkened instantly.

Without hesitation, I increased my pace and moved toward her in clear annoyance, my steps firm and controlled. She was already heading toward the elevator, likely trying to leave, but I reached her just in time.

Before the doors could close, I stepped inside with her.

The metal doors shut behind us with a soft chime, sealing us in the small enclosed space.

Almost immediately, she turned to face me.

"Are you stalking me now?" she asked, raising her brows as she stared at me with obvious arrogance. A mocking smile formed on her lips as she continued, "One would think you fell in love with me at first sight."

Her words only irritated me further.

I didn’t even bother hiding my disgust.

I would never love any woman other than Theresa. And compared to Theresa, this woman standing in front of me was not even in the same category. Not even close. She lacked everything that made Theresa who she was.

In my eyes, she looked nothing more than an attention-seeking nuisance.

A monkey to be precise.

Alex really did have terrible taste.

A cold scoff escaped me.

"No man in his right senses would ever fall in love with you," I said bluntly, my eyes fixed on her.

The moment the words left my mouth, her expression changed instantly.

Her face paled slightly and the confidence she had moments ago flickered for a brief second.

"What do you want?" she asked, her tone less playful now.

"I came to give you a stern warning," I said firmly, stepping slightly closer as my voice lowered. "Stay away from Theresa from now on. Because if you cause her any pain again..." I paused deliberately, letting the weight of my words settle. "I will kill you."

She scoffed immediately, as though what I said was nothing more than a bad joke.

That reaction alone irritated me further.

Before she could say anything else, I moved.

In a split second, I grabbed her throat firmly, my fingers tightening around her neck as I pushed her back against the elevator wall. Her eyes widened instantly as she struggled to breathe, panic flashing across her face.

I held her there for a moment, just long enough to make my point clear.

Then I released her suddenly and shoved her back.

With her back already on the elevator wall, her head but hard against the elevator wall.

I straightened up calmly, adjusting my posture as though nothing had happened, my eyes still locked on hers.

A faint smile tugged at my lips.

"I hope you understand I actually meant every word now!" I said coldly.
