Chapter 152: After us!

ELLA.

The hell!

At Leonard’s words, images and voices from six years ago flashed in my mind within seconds.

I had been in his office, when I confessed my love to him, and now, I honestly couldn’t believe what I was witnessing.

Six years ago, Leonard had rejected my love without a second thought.

Back then, he had made it painfully clear that my feelings meant nothing to him.

Yet now...now he was standing before me, acting as though he had every right to be possessive.

The irony was almost laughable.

Did he truly expect me to forget everything simply because he regretted his decision now?

No! Absolutely not.

No matter what happened, I wasn’t going to choose only one of them.

And if I was being honest...a tiny part of me couldn’t help wanting a little revenge for the girl I used to be.

Even though I still couldn’t remember everything fully, I knew enough to understand that my past self had suffered because of him.

Perhaps my memories were still incomplete and perhaps there were countless moments I had yet to recall.

But the pain...that much was obvious.

"Don’t say that word, Theresa," Lurgard suddenly said as he walked over to me.

The moment he reached me, he gently took both of my hands into his own.

His grip was warm and reassuring.

"The bond is one. We definitely cannot suffer because of him." He added, as his voice was firm, leaving no room for doubt.

"Exactly!" Lawrence spoke the instant he recovered from his earlier shock.

He stepped forward, his expression unusually serious as he fixed his gaze on Leonard.

"Leonard, get it straight into your head." He said, as his tone was calm, but every word carried unmistakable weight. "You already lost your first chance."

He paused just long enough for the words to sink in.

"So be careful not to lose your second chance as well." He added.

"You—"

Leonard opened his mouth, clearly intending to argue but no words came out.

Almost immediately, he closed it again.

For a brief moment, silence settled over the room.

Then, as though they had rehearsed it beforehand, all three of them moved at the exact same time.

In perfect synchronization, they lowered themselves onto one knee.

Each of them placed his right hand firmly against his chest.

Their movements were so perfectly coordinated that I could only stare in stunned silence.

"From today, we pledge to serve you with all our heart."

Their voices echoed together in complete unison.

The declaration caught me completely off guard.

Heat instantly rushed to my ears.

A burning sensation spread across my cheeks, and I was certain my face had already turned a deep shade of red.

For the first time in a very long while, I felt powerful. I felt fully in control. It was an unfamiliar feeling, yet strangely comforting.

Perhaps the Moon Goddess truly had given me the greatest gift imaginable for my second chance.

I was still overwhelmed by the moment when another thought suddenly crossed my mind.

My pup.

The warmth inside me faded slightly.

They didn’t like my pup.

Could I really trust them completely?

The moment that doubt settled in my heart, every bit of excitement I had been feeling vanished.

It was as though someone had poured a bucket of cold water over me.

The warmth inside my chest disappeared, replaced by an uncomfortable heaviness.

The smile that had been threatening to form on my lips faded almost instantly.

My face gradually became gloomy.

The uncertainty refused to leave my mind.

Without saying another word, I looked away from the three of them.

I didn’t ask them to stand.

I didn’t acknowledge the pledge they had just made.

I simply turned around and walked toward the staircase.

Each step felt heavier than the last.

I found myself walking faster and faster, desperate to put some distance between myself and everyone else.

My thoughts were in complete disarray.

By the time I reached my room, I didn’t hesitate for even a second.

I pushed the door open, stepped inside, and slammed it shut behind me with a loud bang that echoed through the room.

Silence followed.

Then, a familiar voice suddenly echoed inside my head.

"Hey, I’m back!"

My eyes widened slightly.

Nyx.

She had finally awakened.

She had been unusually quiet for quite some time now, and I had assumed she was still recovering from everything that had happened.

Relief briefly flickered through me.

"Nyx," I called softly inside my mind.

Before I could say anything else, she spoke again.

"Why bother assuming what they think about the baby?" she asked calmly.

There was a brief pause before she continued.

"You could simply read their minds and find out what future plans they have for our pup."

The moment those words reached me, my eyes immediately lit up.

Of course.

She was right.

Why hadn’t I thought about that earlier?

It seemed so obvious now.

But the excitement that had begun rising inside me quickly weakened again.

The truth was...I still didn’t know how to properly use my abilities.

It wasn’t as though I could activate them whenever I wanted.

They simply appeared on their own...and disappeared just as unpredictably.

It was completely beyond my control.

Feeling mentally exhausted, I gently shut Nyx out of my thoughts.

I closed my eyes, hoping for a moment of peace.

Almost immediately...a voice echoed inside my head.

"She is the remaining one of the Azura clan, but there is a restriction on her, so we need to ensure she gives birth to a child."

At the same instant, an image flashed before my eyes.

It was the masked man.

I watched him inject something into my body while calmly speaking to Bernard.

My eyes flew open, and a sharp gasp escaped my lips as I began panting heavily.

Oh no! Both my pup and I were in danger.

A powerful enemy was after us.

After our bloodline.

But...

Why?
