Chapter 315: Chapter 303: The Grand Finale (Part 2)

For more than twenty years, he could only see Ye Manman on the TV screen. Although he knew where she flew, he was never able to follow her, nor did he have enough time to always accompany her on her flights.

Now, he can finally go anywhere she is.

The two of them spent a substantial amount of time traveling, almost ten years abroad.

They only returned to the country a few times, mainly when He Yanzi got married.

Having been in the entertainment industry for so long, He Yuchu seemed to have lost the urge to marry. Ye Manman and He Chen didn’t rush her; they just hoped she could live the life she wanted, and that marrying later wouldn’t matter.

The most important thing was to find someone to spend her life with.

He Yanzi’s beloved was a classmate from his university.

If Ye Manman hadn’t asked about the girl a bit more when they returned to the country, they wouldn’t have known He Yanzi and his wife knew each other that early.

In the end, it was because He Yanzi took things seriously.

He didn’t want to risk a romantic relationship when he hadn’t accomplished anything yet, so in school, he just confessed once and didn’t pursue it further.

He simply told the girl he liked her but didn’t ask her to wait, just saying he would work hard.

As it turned out, that girl was quite straightforward; she must have liked him all along, stubbornly waiting from university until graduation, even though they lost contact, she kept waiting. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Though not entirely waiting for He Yanzi, she didn’t want to date or randomly marry anyone else, continually avoiding her family’s matchmaking.

Despite not contacting He Yanzi for many years and not knowing if he still liked her, she couldn’t forget him.

However, her perseverance paid off, and she finally received a call from He Yanzi.

In matters of the heart, He Yanzi was remarkably similar to He Chen.

A bit clueless, yet somewhat aware; if anything, he needed to feel ready before approaching someone, and once he found her, he immediately asked her to be with him.

The girl was stunned at the time, but He Yanzi was so earnest that she couldn’t help but be moved, and so their relationship naturally blossomed into a good marriage.

Although they intended to go on a honeymoon trip after getting married, He Yanzi was too busy to squeeze in the time.

However, their progress was swift, and within a few months of being married, they received the joyful news of a pregnancy.

At the time, Ye Manman and He Chen were in Venice, so they sent back some local specialties and gifts.

They rushed back only when their grandson was born and stayed for another year.

After their grandson’s first birthday, they resumed their world travels.

As they aged, though their finances were stable, their bodies couldn’t keep up.

Perhaps due to Ye Manman’s extensive travel and irregular meals in her youth, her health started declining at seventy, leading to a month’s hospitalization.

He Chen took meticulous care of her daily, but being four or five years older than Ye Manman, he wasn’t as robust as in his youth, and his once straight back had begun to bend.

However, they had completed the journeys and activities they wished to do together, so spending their later years watching grandchildren around them at home was quite pleasing.

Every day, they stayed home, planting flowers, watching birds, buying delicious treats and toys for the children, and watched them play; such was the daily life of Ye Manman and He Chen.

Yet this kind of life didn’t last long.

When Ye Manman was seventy-two, her health suddenly deteriorated; she was rushed to the ICU and almost didn’t wake up.

After the doctor managed to revive her, she could feel her life nearing its end.

Her hair was now silver, her face lined with wrinkles, and her body was far from the bright, sunny girl she once was.

But He Chen still carefully held her hand and kissed it, sitting by her bed, his face full of sadness and reluctance.

In the spacious, white hospital room, she was connected to many tubes linked to machines, with IV drips in her frail hand.

Their son and daughter, along with their spouses and children, gathered around the bed, but everyone’s face was lined with grief.

Ye Manman knew this was the day of her departure.

She was calm, without regrets, even joking with He Chen with a smile.
