Chapter 392: Wonders Shall Never End: On that Globe Right there
"Can we... go to space now?" I asked softly, squeezing his hand tightly in mine, already feeling genuinely thrilled and eager about the entirely new world I would soon get to see at his side in this grand adventure.
"Of course!" He smiled warmly back at me and wrapped one arm securely around my waist, pulling me closer into a protective and comforting hold that made my heart flutter with that familiar warmth. "I had been already covering both of us with a special protective barrier just in case the conditions out there in space would be bad for even powerful beings like us."
Oh? A barrier? Truly?
I don’t even feel like there’s any kind of barrier surrounding me at all, so it’s possibly not an ordinary magical barrier after all.
Perhaps something more like an imaginary or conceptual barrier instead?
It would certainly explain why Mother and the others didn’t spot us or sense our presence when we first came into the hall earlier.
As usual, Benjamin Mark is casually breaking the natural rules of Elyndor itself and acting like it’s completely normal and everyday behavior.
There is simply no way I can ever get bored with a man like this. So unfair in the best possible way.
End of Sara’s POV
***
After witnessing the quite awkward, but unexpectedly tender, scene of baby Elara in the grand hall, Benjamin and Sara set off together on their grand adventure toward space without any further delay!
Using his extraordinary [Reality Jump] ability, Benjamin teleported them both all the way to the outside of the entire planet in one seamless and instantaneous transition.
Reality Jump is a very high-level ability that can feel like smoothly merging two distant locations together in such a natural way that it doesn’t seem like traditional teleportation at all, but more like the entire world simply changed scene around them before even a single second had fully passed.
So Sara was a bit startled to suddenly find herself floating weightlessly in a location of utter vacuum and endless void.
She looked around slowly and carefully, her auburn hair drifting freely and gracefully in the complete absence of any gravity as pitch blackness enveloped everything in every direction.
But distant stars could be seen twinkling softly from afar, their faint and beautiful lights piercing through the immense darkness like scattered sparks of distant hope and wonder.
She could see the pale sphere of the moon somewhere far away in the vast expanse, and the large globe below them:
Curving beautifully with its familiar continents, vast oceans, and swirling clouds all glowing softly under the distant sunlight filtering through the void.
The cold and silent vastness of space pressed relentlessly against the invisible protective barrier Benjamin had created around them, yet inside its safe confines the air stayed perfectly warm, breathable, and comfortable, shielding them completely from the harsh realities of the cosmic emptiness.
Sara’s emerald eyes widened gradually with quiet and profound wonder as she took in the impossible and breathtaking view spreading out endlessly before her, her hand never once letting go of Benjamin’s steady grip.
The sheer overwhelming scale of it all made the lush jungles, towering trees, and lively villages back home on Elyndor feel impossibly small and distant, yet somehow even more precious and worth protecting in that moment.
Benjamin watched her genuine reaction with a soft and affectionate smile playing across his lips, content to let the profound silence and beauty of space stretch out peacefully between them as they floated there together.
"This big, beautiful globe right here that we are looking at together is Elyndor, you know?" He said softly, his voice warm and steady as his arm remained wrapped securely around her waist, holding her close in the gentle, weightless drift.
He raised his other hand and pointed carefully toward the majestic world floating serenely in the vast emptiness below them, his fingers tracing a slow arc in the silent void as if inviting her to truly see it with fresh eyes.
"Like I suspected from the very beginning when I first started thinking about these things, it truly isn’t so different from Earth, the planet where I originally came from in my past life. But the proportions are a bit different in certain noticeable ways...
"I can see some of the continents spread out down there too, their shapes are somewhat familiar but slightly altered. Yet overall, it mostly resembles Earth in its general shape and layout, with similar patterns of land and sea that make me feel a strange sense of connection."
Sara’s eyes were still blown wide with genuine awe and wonder, her emerald gaze locked completely onto the breathtaking sight as the full realization washed over her in slow and overwhelming waves.
She felt the immense smallness of her own existence in comparison to this enormous globe beneath them, to the endless universe stretching out in every direction around them with its infinite depth and mystery.
Her auburn hair floated freely and gracefully around her face in the complete absence of any gravity, brushing softly and repeatedly against her cheeks and shoulders as she took in the curving horizon of her home world, the way its lands, vast oceans, and swirling clouds appeared so fragile, precious and alive from this astronomical vantage point high above everything she had ever known.
"So... we live and move around every single day on that globe down there, carrying out our lives without ever truly seeing it like this?" she asked, her voice filled with pure excitement and nervous energy that made her fingers tighten even more firmly around Benjamin’s hand, seeking reassurance in his steady presence.
This was only the second time in a very long time she had felt this particular blend of thrilled anticipation and slight unease stirring deeply inside her chest, sending warm flutters through her entire body.
The first had been that unforgettable, life-changing moment when she had found Benjamin and everything in her world had shifted forever.
"Mh-hm. Amazing, right? It really puts things into perspective when you see it from up here like this," Benjamin replied with a gentle nod, his blue eyes reflecting the soft glow from the distant sun as they both slowly drifted closer to the big globe in a peaceful, unhurried manner.
He kept his arm wrapped comfortably around her waist, guiding them with effortless ease through the silent void while his presence provided a constant anchor in the emptiness. "Though this is still physical and is not like heaven or anything spiritual beyond the normal world, just another layer of the reality we should already know."
