Chapter 2074: Chapter 2071: Demon God Palace
"Ah?" The scream of the Dark Night Demon Clan man echoed, as he looked at Ling Feng in horror, eyes filled with disbelief.
"Go to hell!" Ling Feng’s expression remained unchanged as his Longsword transformed into several sword shadows, piercing through the man’s body before he could react, pinning him to the ground.
After killing the Dark Night Demon Clan man, the force within Ling Feng dissipated like a receding tide, leaving him feeling empty. He half-knelt on the ground, gasping heavily.
"Not bad, truly interesting. I’m very curious how a mere Second-Level Long-haired Demon developed consciousness and intellect, and even mastered such advanced swordsmanship?" The voice echoed.
Ling Feng remained silent, his eyes filled with vigilance.
The mark in mid-air transformed into the figure of a mysterious white-skinned man. He looked at Ling Feng and smiled: "You might not know me, nor my identity yet, right?"
Ling Feng nodded: "That’s correct. I don’t know how to address you, Senior. Also, thank you for saving my life! If there’s ever a chance, I will certainly repay you!"
The white-skinned man chuckled: "No need in the future, you can repay me now!"
With that, the white-skinned man waved at Ling Feng, and a white beam of light fell upon him.
Ling Feng’s expression changed drastically, for under the illumination of the white light, he found himself unable to resist. When the beam disappeared, Ling Feng vanished from the spot.
Ling Feng felt as though the world was spinning. When he landed, he realized he was no longer at the edge of the Endless Forest but in front of three men with abnormally powerful auras, one of whom was the mysterious white-skinned man.
"It’s our first official meeting!" The white-skinned man said with a smile as he looked at Ling Feng: "Let me introduce myself, you can call me Respectable Kai!"
"Respectable Kai?" Ling Feng murmured, then took a deep breath: "Ling Feng, Junior, what does Respectable Kai require?"
"Eh? That’s indeed the case, A-Kai, I thought you were exaggerating. But this Level 2 Long-haired Demon indeed possesses spiritual intelligence, truly unbelievable!"
The hefty man standing beside Respectable Kai showed a hint of surprise, while the slightly thinner man on the other side observed Ling Feng with scrutinizing eyes.
Under his gaze, Ling Feng felt as though a venomous snake was staring at him, leaving him uneasy.
"A-Kai, are you planning to let him enter?" At this moment, the slimmer man said blandly: "Otherwise, there was no need to bring him here, right?"
Respectable Kai smiled: "Exactly, that’s it!"
Ling Feng felt utterly confused and unsure! What was going on? Yet an unsettling premonition loomed.
"Ling Feng, I saved you before, and you also said you would repay kindness, so now is the time for repayment!" Respectable Kai said with a smile: "First, do you know where this place is?"
Ling Feng shook his head; how could he possibly know?
"This is the depth of the Endless Forest, the most mysterious location within!" Respectable Kai said calmly: "It’s said that deep in the Endless Forest lies the Demon God Palace, holding a significant secret."
"But unfortunately, the Demon God Palace is elusive, with few able to find it. Even if found, entering comes with numerous restrictions. Rarely does anyone manage to get in, and those who do usually meet a tragic end inside."
Respectable Kai looked at Ling Feng: "My request is simple, take a trip into the Demon God Palace. If successful, retrieve the Demon God Bead from inside. If you can get the Demon God Bead, I can offer you a grand fortune."
"Demon God Bead?" Ling Feng frowned slightly, his gaze falling upon the dilapidated palace behind the three men. Although the palace was worn, Ling Feng could feel powerful energy emanating from it.
"Only Low-level Demons can enter the Demon God Palace, but Low-level Demons usually lack spiritual intelligence, entering means a dead end. That’s why I need your help!" Respectable Kai said.
Ling Feng began to understand, realizing why the Demon King issued the Demon King’s Order to find intelligent, self-aware Low-level Demons. Their goal was the Demon God Palace!
"I can go in, but I know nothing about the Demon God Palace, nor where the Demon God Bead is located!" Ling Feng replied.
Though Ling Feng was unwilling to enter, he understood he had no option to refuse now.
"It’s simple, the Demon God Bead is in the Demon God’s sleeping quarters, which is at the back of the palace!" Respectable Kai explained: "Pass through the front hall and middle hall, and you’ll reach the Demon God’s quarters."
With that, Respectable Kai slapped Ling Feng’s back: "Go now, I wish you success!"
Ling Feng felt an immense force pushing him towards the Demon God Palace, and just as he approached, the palace doors opened, exerting a suction force that drew him inside.
Soon afterward, the doors shut tightly, as though they had never opened.
"A-Kai, do you think this guy will succeed?" The stout man asked hesitantly: "Previously, we also sent a few inside, but none managed to pass the first level!"
Before Respectable Kai could respond, the slimmer man beside him said: "This guy is different from those before."
"Oh? How is he different?"
The slim man smiled slightly: "His gaze is more resolute and aggressive than his predecessors."
