Chapter 1311: Chapter 1326: Alone in the Tiger’s Den
"Don’t ask me who I am, it’s not important," the man said coldly.
"Then why did you capture me? I’m pretty sure I haven’t offended you?" Zhou Xun calmly questioned.
"Of course not. But as for why I caught you, you’ll find out soon enough. I advise you to be obedient and keep quiet, or don’t blame me for being ruthless; if you don’t cooperate, I’ll be using my knife." The man spoke coldly.
"Haha, this is right in front of a hotel, aren’t you afraid?" Zhou Xun chuckled.
The man glanced at Zhou Xun and chuckled too, "Haha, I didn’t expect you to be so calm, truly surprised me. To be honest, since I’ve come to capture you, I’ve made ample preparations. So I advise you to abandon any tricks, I will not give you any chance. If you dare to play tricks, I’ll kill you."
Zhou Xun glared at the man, "Fine, I want to know your purpose."
"You don’t need to know now; you’ll find out soon enough. Let’s go, take it easy, the car is over there, let’s go together," the man said.
Zhou Xun did not resist and followed the guy towards a car not far away. At this moment, Zhou Xun was too exhausted to resist anyway. Zhou Xun didn’t know how to fight, and a weak woman definitely wasn’t a match for a man. The only option now was to stall them and find a way to notify Lin Mu. Thus she cooperated and got into the car, discovering that there were a few others there, all wearing baseball caps.
"Drive!" said the guy sitting in the passenger seat as Zhou Xun got in.
The car slowly drove out of the parking lot, speeding along quickly. Although Zhou Xun appeared calm, internally she was frantic. She had to find a way to notify Lin Mu, otherwise, what would happen next was unimaginable.
"I’m carsick, I feel like throwing up," Zhou Xun said, appearing very uncomfortable.
"Why are you being such a hassle?" the guy beside her said irritably.
"If you don’t want me to vomit inside the car, then keep driving. Besides, are you guys really afraid of a defenseless woman like me? I seriously doubt whether you guys are men?" Zhou Xun retorted.
"Alright, enough talk, pull over, let her get out and vomit, Jinmao, watch her," the man in the passenger seat waved his hand and said.
The car stopped, Zhou Xun opened the door and stepped out, and the guy named Jinmao followed.
"Wow!" Zhou Xun faked gagging herself, her reaction came quickly, but she only spat a little.
"Give me some water," Zhou Xun said.
"Damn, troublesome, wait a minute," Jinmao replied impatiently and then turned to the car door, "She really threw up, grab some water."
Taking advantage of this moment, Zhou Xun quickly took out her phone and found Lin Mu’s number from her call log because she hadn’t made many calls recently, making it easier to find from the call history.
After locating Lin Mu’s number, Zhou Xun dialed it, but Jinmao had already walked over, leaving her no opportunity to speak.
"Here, hurry up, don’t waste time," Jinmao handed the water cup to Zhou Xun impatiently.
Zhou Xun took the water, rinsed her mouth, then pocketed her phone and followed Jinmao back into the car.
...
At this moment, Lin Mu was asleep in the hotel when the phone rang, and Lin Mu drowsily answered.
"Hello, Xiaoxun," Lin Mu said.
"Hello, Xiaoxun," Lin Mu called out again when he got no response, but still there was silence.
"Hmm, what’s going on?" Lin Mu puzzledly muttered before hanging up the phone; shopping had worn him out, even his Seventh Sense seemed off.
However, after hanging up, Lin Mu dialed back. The phone rang for a while before declining the call. Lin Mu furrowed his brow in confusion and dialed again, still rejected.
"Why isn’t this girl answering anymore?" Lin Mu muttered to himself and dialed again, this time the phone showed it was off.
Lin Mu’s Seventh Sense immediately heightened; Zhou Xun would never ignore his calls, much less shut her phone off—could something be wrong?
Soon, Lin Mu quickly left his room, dashed to the hotel lobby, scanned around but saw no sign of Zhou Xun. Logically, Zhou Xun wouldn’t go out to eat, especially not at this hour; she should have finished her meal long ago.
Thus Lin Mu was certain that something must have happened to Zhou Xun! Lin Mu’s mind raced—who could be targeting Zhou Xun? After pondering briefly, Lin Mu called Liu Tao at Handan University, and Liu Tao answered excitedly. He was currently drinking with Chen Gang; the events of today had oddly forged them into good brothers, sharing a camaraderie through adversity.
"Boss." Liu Tao answered Lin Mu’s call with excitement.
Lin Mu had no time for pleasantries and asked urgently, "Xiaotao, do you know who that thug Principal Zhang brought along was today?"
"Yeah, he’s quite notorious around our campus, named Ah Sheng," Liu Tao replied.
"Can you find him now, or perhaps somewhere he frequents?" Lin Mu inquired, having his suspicions saddled on Ah Sheng. After all, Ah Sheng seemed to target Zhou Xun before, and he was around today. Lin Mu couldn’t shake the suspicion, yet couldn’t locate him, thus asked Liu Tao if he knew.
"He often hangs out at a bar in the city; not sure if we’ll find him there," Liu Tao said.
"Alright then, where are you? Join me to check it out," Lin Mu said.
Liu Tao seemed excited, seemingly forgetting that the place was under the Handan Four Young Masters’ control, and nodded agreeing, "Boss, no problem, Chen Gang and I are drinking at the restaurant; where are you? We’ll come to you."
Lin Mu mentioned the hotel address, figuring it was a five-star hotel known to locals. After about five to six minutes, a taxi pulled up next to Lin Mu, with Liu Tao and Chen Gang inside, waving out the window at him, "Boss!"
Lin Mu stepped over, opened the door, and got in the car.
"Driver, to Supreme Bar," Liu Tao instructed.
The driver nodded and drove towards Supreme Bar.
"Boss, what’s got you in such a hurry?" Liu Tao asked.
"Nothing much, just want to ask Ah Sheng a few things," Lin Mu replied.
"Boss, that’s Handan Three Young Masters’ turf, just the three of us going?" Liu Tao asked somewhat worriedly.
