Chapter 1302: Chapter 1317: Winning Every Gamble
"Here, here!" Lin Mu pulled out two red bills with the old man’s head on them and casually sent Earth Wolf away.
Earth Wolf didn’t mind it being little, grabbed the two hundred yuan, and then left the room, while Lin Mu straightened the stack of bills in front of him, grinned, and said, "Hey, babe, lunch is on me, I won again."
"Of course you have to treat me to something good, let’s go." Zhou Xun was also very happy. When she was with Lin Mu, she was happy no matter what they did, and she had this little-bird-leaning-on-man feeling.
"Wait, wait." Zhou Xun was holding onto Lin Mu’s arm, just about to walk out when Lin Mu stopped her.
"What’s wrong?" Zhou Xun looked at Lin Mu questioningly and asked.
"Of course you have to exercise a bit before eating." Lin Mu turned around, wrapped an arm around Zhou Xun’s slender waist, and said.
Zhou Xun’s small face flushed red; she knew exactly what Lin Mu meant, but she didn’t refuse.
"You’re so bad, your head is full of only that all day long." Zhou Xun said shyly.
"Hey, working out a bit helps the appetite." Lin Mu gave an evil, charming smile, then picked Zhou Xun up and walked toward the bed.
An hour later, after Lin Mu and Zhou Xun were done with their tender lovemaking, the two of them went downstairs together.
This kind of man-woman exercise was without a doubt the best way to boost their feelings; Zhou Xun leaning on Lin Mu’s shoulder looked even more womanly.
Once downstairs, Lin Mu went to a pretty good local specialty restaurant. Fresh off the "workout," his appetite was great. Lin Mu ordered a whole table of dishes and started chomping down in big bites, clearly a standard foodie.
After eating and drinking their fill, Lin Mu took Zhou Xun to various tourist spots in Handan City for a round of sightseeing. Handan City was originally a famous tourist city, and the local scenery was especially beautiful. It wasn’t until after five in the afternoon that Lin Mu and Zhou Xun reluctantly returned to the hotel.
Back at the hotel, they happened to run into Nanny Yu and Earth Wolf playing Dou Dizhu. Lin Mu glanced at the small stack of red bills in front of Earth Wolf, and another small stack in front of Nanny Yu, but Lin Mu quickly concluded that Earth Wolf must have been the one winning.
The reason was simple: when they left at noon, that lucky bastard only had two hundred yuan; now he had at least more than two thousand, so he clearly won Nanny Yu’s money. And looking at that bitter-ass expression on Nanny Yu’s face, it was obvious.
Lin Mu suddenly got interested, gave a wicked grin, and said, "Hey, let me play a couple rounds."
"No, no, we’re doing fine with just the two of us." Earth Wolf understood Lin Mu’s gambling skills best. If Lin Mu joined, all the money he’d won would end up in Lin Mu’s pocket.
Of course, Nanny Yu didn’t know about Lin Mu’s gambling skills, so she said, "Let Boss Lin play, change a person, change the luck, right? The wheel of fortune turns!"
"Exactly, exactly, Nanny Yu, you’re the visionary here." Lin Mu gave a devilish smile and then took out the money he’d won in the morning. "I’ve got ten thousand here. If you can win it, count it as my gift to you."
"Fine, come on, let’s go!" Nanny Yu seemed to get interested, and happily called out.
Earth Wolf could only feel helpless. He hurriedly pulled a few bills out of his stack and stuffed them into his pocket as reserved meal money—otherwise he might lose even his underwear. Better to stash a little in advance. With Lin Mu joining, Earth Wolf had absolutely no intention of making money!
After a few rounds, the small stack of money in front of Lin Mu was down to just a few bills, while the small stack in front of Nanny Yu had gotten much thicker; she’d obviously won quite a bit, and Earth Wolf’s side was also a bit more than before.
"Damn, Nanny Yu, your Dou Dizhu skills are pretty good, huh? Winning that much!" Lin Mu looked full of admiration; who knew if it was real or fake. Anyway, Earth Wolf just snorted—he’d already seen through the boss’s trick—but Nanny Yu was still smug like an idiot, thinking she’d suddenly become a Gambling God!
"Hehe, just good luck, just luck." Nanny Yu’s grin was practically splitting her face. The money she’d lost to Earth Wolf just now had all been won back from Lin Mu, and she’d even won extra, so of course she was happy.
"Nanny Yu, you’re really modest." Lin Mu chuckled along.
"Not at all, purely luck, luck!"
"Again. Once I lose these few bills I’ll stop." Lin Mu said with a smile.
Off to the side, Earth Wolf had already seen through Lin Mu’s scheme. First lose then win—that was his usual style. Next he’d probably use those few bills to start winning. Sure enough, Earth Wolf’s guess was right: Lin Mu started winning round after round. Of course he’d lose sometimes too, but the ratio of losing to winning was basically one to ten—lose one round, win ten.
And every time Lin Mu won, he just grinned foolishly and said his luck was good, good, that he just had good cards and couldn’t help it, then egged Nanny Yu and Earth Wolf on to bet bigger, saying they might be able to win it back.
But Lin Mu’s luck just kept staying ridiculously good. Without them even noticing, the thick stack of money Nanny Yu had before turned into just a few bills. In the end Nanny Yu was so depressed she almost wanted to tear up the cards.
"Ah, my luck is really crap!" Nanny Yu sighed helplessly and self-mockingly said, "A hard life, you can’t blame the gov-ern-ment! Bad luck, you can’t blame society! Hehe!"
Earth Wolf could only nod with a bitter smile. Of course he knew it wasn’t that Nanny Yu’s luck was bad, but that Lin Mu was just too good at gambling. Want to win money off him? Unless you’re some kind of x-ray-eyed Gambling God, it’s impossible.
Sure enough, in the end Nanny Yu lost everything, practically didn’t even have underwear left. Earth Wolf was luckily a bit smarter, so he’d set aside a few hundred yuan beforehand; otherwise that would’ve all been won by Lin Mu too.
Lin Mu held the stack of old-man-head bills in his hand, feeling incredibly comfortable. Winning money felt fucking awesome! Awesome to the point of exploding!
"Haven’t eaten yet, have you? Come on, I’ll take you guys to eat." Lin Mu held the money and said very generously. You had to know he’d won nearly ten thousand; how could he not act generous with that kind of money? Otherwise he’d seem way too stingy. Come on, President Lin is at least the president of Flying Dragon Group!
Of course, Nanny Yu and Earth Wolf had no objections. Even though they’d lost money, they could only plan to slaughter Lin Mu hard at the dinner table later. But their plan quickly fell through, because Lin Mu only picked a mid-range restaurant, ordered like crazy, and ate and drank like crazy. Even if he pulled in another babe to drink with them, at most he’d spend a little over a thousand.
"Hey, dig in." Lin Mu cheerfully pointed at the table full of dishes. Nanny Yu and Earth Wolf weren’t polite either; it was their own money after all—if they didn’t eat it, it’d be wasted. Eating some back counted as recouping some of the principal. Of course, it wasn’t the money they cared about; it was that losing at Dou Dizhu left them feeling annoyed. It was absolutely not the same high as spending your own money to get someone else drunk!
Meanwhile, outside the restaurant, a few young men were unintentionally huddled in a corner discussing something. The lights were off, it was pitch dark, and one of them was none other than Jin Douya, one of the Handan Four Young Masters. This guy was skinny, a cigarette between his fingers, looking calm and relaxed—clearly the one in charge.
Jin Douya had easily pocketed Wang Sicong’s three million, so of course he had to put in some effort. Naturally, that bit of effort was nothing to him, just a casual move of the hand. This kind of thing was something he did all the time.
