Chapter 1269: Chapter 1284: This Time I’m Done For

"Don’t worry, with me around, Hatanaka Tairou won’t dare do anything to you." Lin Mu said.

"Alright, in that case, I’ll go with you." Meimei nodded. Although she felt a bit hesitant, she decided to give it a try.

Even though she held a certain status in Hiroshima, she felt uncomfortable living with an old guy like Hatanaka Tairou, who was in his seventies or eighties. She felt she should be with someone like Lin Mu, a charming young man. Being with an old man held no allure! Every time she did that kind of thing with Hatanaka in bed, Meimei felt like throwing up. If her family found out she married an old man, it’d be a laughingstock! Besides, Hiroshima wasn’t truly her home; she wanted to return to Huaxia.

"Alright, it’s settled then." Lin Mu was quite eager to go back at this time, as it meant he could see Man Luo and the other ladies in his life again.

"Okay, I’ll handle the plane tickets. You guys go back and pack, and I’ll need to pack as well." Meimei nodded.

After they agreed, Lin Mu and Caini returned home. Caini definitely intended to go with Lin Mu. Although there wasn’t much to bring, she still needed to pack clothes and daily necessities. She couldn’t just return to Huaxia empty-handed; she needed to bring some money and provisions.

By noon, Meimei called to say that the plane tickets were ready for the 3 PM flight. After lunch, Lin Mu took Caini to join Meimei. Although Meimei was wealthy, she had no attachment to East’s things, so she brought nothing, not even a car, as they headed to the airport by taxi with Lin Mu.

Since the flight was at 3 PM, they had more than an hour, so Lin Mu, Caini, and Meimei arrived at the airport’s lounge. But as luck would have it, just as the three of them were chatting, a fleet of police cars suddenly stormed into the lounge area.

The East police made quite a scene, drawing the attention of several hundred spectators. Such a scene seemed like something only seen in TV shows.

"Brother Lin, could those police be here to catch you again?" Caini looked at the East police.

"Damn, I can’t believe they’d be that stupid again?" Lin Mu cursed. If it was the same idiots from yesterday, their brains must have collectively been slammed in a door!

"But they’re running this way?" Caini said.

Lin Mu took a look, and it was indeed true. There were even more police this time, about a hundred or so, marching directly towards them.

Soon, they spread out, forming a large encirclement around Lin Mu and the others. However, this time the East police kept a distance of about ten meters from Lin Mu, likely afraid he’d use magic to subdue them again.

Moreover, the police were dressed entirely differently from last time, wearing bulletproof vests and steel helmets, and were exceptionally equipped.

"Looks like their brains really were slammed in doors collectively!" Lin Mu said, "Just how many doors did they need for that, anyway?"

At this moment, Caini beside him appeared unworried. After facing several crises, she had become a bit more composed. More importantly, Lin Mu was by her side, like a pillar holding up the sky. With Lin Mu there, even if the sky fell, she’d be safe.

Meimei beside them also remained calm. After all, she’d experienced plenty of storms while with the Jushi Association’s leader, Hatanaka. Having gone through numerous events, she was quite steady.

"Brother Lin, can you handle them?" Caini asked.

"What do you think? How about a bet? If I win, you sleep with me tonight?" Lin Mu grinned smugly.

"Hmph, dream on, I’m never betting with you again!" Caini rejected without hesitation. This guy was too tricky; betting with him was definitely a losing game.

"Damn, it’s not like I’d necessarily win!" Lin Mu laughed deviously, trying to bait Caini into a bet.

But the clever Caini didn’t fall for it, waving it off, "Even if you can’t handle them, I’m not betting with you. If worse comes to worst, we’ll just join you in jail."

"Uh... how’s that possible?" Lin Mu was flustered, feeling this young girl didn’t believe in his impressive abilities anymore.

While the two were bantering, a distant East policeman shouted at Lin Mu and his group through a loudspeaker, "Huaxia People, the three of you listen up, raise your hands and stand up immediately."

Although the East police surrounded Lin Mu, they dared not get too close. After all, they had experienced earlier that Lin Mu could use magic, surrounded by black qi, and could immobilize them with the touch of a finger, like Sun Monkey’s immobilization spell. Thus, they maintained a significant distance from Lin Mu.

As the leading officer, he had no choice but to shout through a loudspeaker from afar.

"Ha, that fool is really a joke!" Lin Mu laughed arrogantly.

"Definitely a joke. Obviously scared but still looking for trouble." Caini commented.

"Huaxia People, reminding you again, raise your hands and stand up immediately, or we’ll take forceful measures," the officer with the loudspeaker announced loudly.

"Brother Lin, what should we do?" Caini felt a bit anxious.

"Nothing, ignore him!" Lin Mu was nonchalant, and even picked his nose directly at the shouting East police officer. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"Everyone, get ready." The officer was clearly irritated, ordering his hundred or so subordinates.

The nearby officers quickly prepared, all aiming at Lin Mu. With one command, they’d fire a barrage of bullets, and Lin Mu would turn into a smashed watermelon in seconds.

"Brother Lin, what are we gonna do? They’re about to shoot." Caini clung to Lin Mu’s arm, shaking it urgently.

At this point, Caini noticed these police weren’t like the ones from earlier today. Their guns were aimed and cocked, locking them in, and they had no chance to escape.

Caini certainly believed Lin Mu was powerful, but she didn’t believe anyone could withstand bullets. She wondered if Lin Mu had that kind of power; she certainly didn’t.

"No worries, they’re just little bullets," Lin Mu said dismissively, as if the lethal bullets were just like stones to him.

"Uh..." Caini looked at Lin Mu in distress. "Little bullets? Brother Lin, getting hit in the head is deadly."

"Relax, I’m here, nothing to worry about." Lin Mu spoke calmly.
