Chapter 1343: Chapter 1337
The Ghost Child pounced over, and Murong Ziyue didn’t dare be careless.
She flicked the whip in her hand and lashed at the Ghost Child.
The whip’s strike was fierce; it landed on the Ghost Child, but the Ghost Child only bared its teeth in a grimace. Its ghostly figure flickered, broke free of the Snake Shadow Whip, and turned into a wisp of black qi.
The Snake Shadow Whip in Murong Ziyue’s hand struck empty air, and her eyes flickered slightly.
That little ghost was far more troublesome than she had imagined.
Murong Ziyue still did not panic; the Snake Shadow Whip in her hand snapped back.
Behind her, a burst of chill rushed in. Without turning around, Murong Ziyue already knew it was the little ghost.
On the body of the whip, True Qi burned like blazing Fire.
The little ghost behind her hadn’t yet closed in when another whip struck down.
Though the little ghost came and went without a trace, Murong Ziyue had been tangling with Yin Sha in the Dragon Bone Graveyard recently, and had long since honed extremely keen Five Senses and Six Consciousness.
Like Yin Sha, the little ghost was also a yin-cold being. Even aside from anything else, as soon as it drew near, Murong Ziyue could sense it.
Even with her eyes closed, as long as she relied on the aura on the little ghost’s body, she could quickly lock onto its position.
The little ghost tried several times, but was driven back each time by the Snake Shadow Whip.
Off to the side, Mu Feng’s several attempts at control all ended in failure, and he was quite vexed.
Although he could perform ghost control, he had only recently begun Cultivation of the Ghost Control Technique, and controlling it consumed an enormous amount of True Qi.
By now he was already exhausted to the point of half-death. If that little ghost still couldn’t bring down Murong Ziyue, it would soon lose control.
If that happened, wouldn’t he be laughed to death by that group of cousins?
Mu Feng’s eyes turned sharp; it looked like he could only use that move.
Although the elders had expressly forbidden him from using that method, Murong Ziyue was unfavored and about to be married far away, while the elders doted on him. They probably wouldn’t blame him.
Mu Feng finished speaking and let out a shrill whistle from his mouth.
The green light in the little ghost’s eyes flared, and suddenly it turned into a wisp of black smoke and vanished.
What was this?
Murong Ziyue grew wary in her heart and looked around.
The little ghost had disappeared without a trace; even its aura seemed to be gone.
"Ziyue, watch your feet, it’s going to possess you."
Murong Ziyue could not see the little ghost.
Xin Lin, however, saw that beneath the ground, a stream of black qi was surging swiftly toward Murong Ziyue.
For ghostly beings, besides direct attacks, possession was also a great specialty.
Seeing this, Xin Lin gave a warning.
As soon as Murong Ziyue heard, True Qi condensed all over her body. True Qi rapidly formed a wall of qi around her, and with a stomp of her foot, a crack suddenly split open in the ground.
The moment the little ghost drew close, it was blocked by the True Qi, bounced back, and sent flying.
Mu Feng’s body also jolted.
A number of the threads in his hand that controlled the little ghost snapped all at once.
He felt both ashamed and furious, and glared viciously at Xin Lin off to the side.
He had actually forgotten that Murong Ziyue still had a companion nearby.
Earlier he had seen the other was just a child and hadn’t taken her seriously. Who would have thought that this inconspicuous little girl would ruin his good deed.
"Fifth Young Master, it’s her, she crippled my legs."
Shuixian seized the chance to point at Xin Lin.
"You thing that doesn’t know life from death, you even dare lay hands on my people. Since that’s the case, I’ll just send you on your way."
Mu Feng had been unable to take Murong Ziyue down after a long assault; his True Qi was running low, and seeing that the little ghost was about to dissipate, he knew there was no way to capture Murong Ziyue and felt utterly humiliated.
Then he looked again at Xin Lin by the side—this person had come together with Murong Ziyue; as long as he captured her, Murong Ziyue would surely be taken as well.
The threads in Mu Feng’s hand twitched, and the little ghost rolled to its feet and pounced toward Xin Lin.
