Chapter 517: One of Your Wives
His words carried no hidden meaning. They were innocent and straightforward. he was not trying to flirt.
Yet they still made Adelia’s cheeks turn a delicate shade of pink.
She looked away. Ever since that day they had spent together in Lunaris City. That one single date, the feelings she experienced around Amon had gradually begun changing.
Then he had disappeared for nearly a year.
During that entire time, she had found herself thinking about him far more often than she had expected.
When he finally returned. She had embraced him without hesitation. She had even buried his face against her chest without realizing what she was doing.
She had never acted that way with anyone before.
Not with a man nor with another woman.
Watching him look so dejected now. She suddenly had an urge to hug him.
After a brief silence, she quietly lowered her eyes.
"...If you really want one. I can give you a hug." She spoke without thinking much. As if those words left her mouth without any control.
Amon stopped walking. He had already reached the doorway.
Slowly, he turned around. His eyes widened.
’First Senior Selena hug me few days ago. Now Professor Adelia. What kind of luck is this? Am I secretly Heaven’s favored son?’
Adelia stood quietly before him. Since Amon had grown taller over the past year, he now stood slightly above her.
She looked at him with a gentle smile.
"...Come here."
Without another word, Amon stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her.
Adelia gently returned the embrace.
Her body felt incredibly soft and warm. A delicate floral fragrance surrounded her, calming Amon almost instantly. He rested his face against the crook of her neck.
Her huge breasts pressed against his chest firmly. He could feel her softness clearly. It was incredible. It felt as if he was in heaven.
Meanwhile, Adelia quietly rested her cheek upon his shoulder.
His body felt firm beneath her embrace. Countless hours of training had hardened his muscles, and the warmth radiating from him strangely put her at ease. His strong chest against her chest was too much.
Their closeness felt undeniably intimate. Yet she didn’t feel uncomfortable. Nor did she feel any sense of rejection.
Instead it felt peaceful and comforting. For several long moments, neither of them spoke.
Then Amon suddenly felt someone watching them.
He slowly turned his head. Standing outside the half-open door a familiar figure peeked her head inside.
A pair of crimson eyes stared directly at the two of them.
Those eyes held curiosity, amusement and something far more difficult to describe.
"Kyaa!!"
Amon yelped in shock and instantly jumped backward.
Adelia also snapped back to reality. A soft blush already spread her cheeks while hugging him. Only then did she realize how long they had remained in each other’s embrace.
Her face immediately turned bright red. Following Amon’s gaze, she looked toward the doorway.
Her eyes widened in horror. She had completely forgotten about Selena.
The hug had been meant to last only a few seconds. Yet somehow neither of them had let go.
"P-Princess Selena..."
Adelia stammered in embarrassment.
Selena remained standing at the doorway. Her crimson eyes calmly observed both of them. After a brief silence, she spoke in an unreadable tone.
"...Just as I expected."
She looked directly at Amon.
"Professor Adelia will probably become one of your wives."
Selena continued peeking her head through the doorway, her crimson eyes fixed on the two of them. An unreadable expression rested on her beautiful face, making it impossible to tell what she was thinking.
Adelia remained completely silent.
Her head slowly lowered as her cheeks burned a deep crimson.
’What were you thinking, Adelia?! You’re like their professor! What on earth did you just do?’
Her heart pounded wildly.
’And... what did Princess Selena just say about becoming Amon’s wife? He’s still so young...How could he ever see me as his wife?’
Then another thought suddenly surfaced.
’But... Scarlett is older than me as well...’
Her eyes widened.
’W-Wait! Why am I even thinking about something like that? Why would I even consider becoming Amon’s wife?! Have I gone completely crazy?’
Countless thoughts collided inside her mind, throwing it into complete turmoil.
Seeing the increasingly awkward silence, Amon awkwardly scratched the back of his head.
"It’s... it’s not like that."
He forced a calm smile, though it looked somewhat stiff.
"Anyway... let’s go."
Without waiting for another response, he quickly walked out of the chamber, leaving both Selena and Adelia behind.
Silence filled the room.
Selena continued staring after Amon for a few moments before finally shifting her gaze toward Adelia.
The professor still stood there with her head lowered, too embarrassed to meet Selena’s eyes.
A faint smile appeared on Selena’s lips.
"Let’s go, Professor."
She spoke in a gentle voice.
"And don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone about this."
Adelia slowly raised her head.
"...Thank you."
Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Still feeling unbearably embarrassed, she quietly followed behind her students as they left the chamber together.
---
The trio walked through the bustling streets of the royal city.
The afternoon sun had already begun its slow descent, casting a warm golden glow over the magnificent buildings lining both sides of the road.
Merchants enthusiastically advertised their goods, children laughed as they ran through the streets, and the aroma of freshly baked bread and grilled meat drifted through the lively marketplace.
Yet despite the vibrant atmosphere surrounding them, an awkward silence hung over the three of them.
This time, Selena deliberately walked between Amon and Adelia.
Neither of them complained. After what had happened inside her chamber, neither knew how to face the other.
Amon occasionally glanced ahead, pretending to admire the city, while Adelia quietly kept her eyes lowered, still unable to erase the embarrassment from her mind.
Selena also remained unusually quiet. She didn’t know what she was supposed to say.
Perhaps if she hadn’t accidentally witnessed the two of them embracing each other, they would have simply walked behind her as though nothing had happened.
But now what had happened could no longer be undone.
As Selena silently walked between them, her thoughts drifted back to the scene she had witnessed only moments earlier.
The image of Amon and Adelia hugging each other replayed in her mind.
For some reason, seeing them together had stirred an unfamiliar emotion inside her.
She couldn’t describe it.
It wasn’t anger.
At least, she didn’t think it was. It had simply felt... unpleasant.
Was it Jealousy? She couldn’t tell. Only for a brief moment. Yet that strange feeling had undeniably existed.
Selena frowned slightly. ’What was that feeling?’
She couldn’t find an answer.
The three of them continued walking through the bustling streets in silence, each lost in their own thoughts, making the atmosphere between them even more confusing than before.
