Chapter 495: Divine Blade
On the other side, Seraphina raised her sword high into the air.
Its blade began glowing with brilliant golden light.
Her long golden blonde hair started to sway unnaturally, defying gravity as golden mana surged around her.
Her golden eyes shone brilliantly. Heat rapidly spread through the surrounding area. It felt as though anything that came too close would simply melt beneath the overwhelming light.
Xen narrowed his eyes as he watched her. "Hmph! Your little trick won’t work."
He stomped his foot into the ground.
BOOM!
A massive wave of sand erupted from the earth. Like a raging tsunami, it surged toward Seraphina, threatening to bury her completely.
She didn’t move. For a brief moment, she simply stood there.
Then her left foot stepped forward. he gripped her sword firmly with both hands and drew it behind her right shoulder. Her posture became perfectly balanced.
SWISH!
She swung her blade horizontally. A brilliant crescent of golden light tore through the air.
SLASH!
The wave of sand was cleanly split into two halves.
BOOOOM!!
The divided sand exploded outward, scattering countless grains across the battlefield. Without hesitation, Xen dashed toward Seraphina.
His battle axe carved through the air as he charged. Seeing this, Lark immediately reacted.
An earth-element magic circle formed beneath Xen’s feet. A thick wall of stone erupted from the ground directly in his path.
However Xen didn’t slow down.
"Hah!"
He swung his battle axe with overwhelming force.
BOOM!!
The earth wall shattered into countless fragments. Rocks flew in every direction as if they had been struck by a cannon.
At the same moment. Aisha attacked from the side. She swung her greatsword horizontally. Blue lightning burst from the blade.
ROAR!!
A gigantic dragon made entirely of crackling lightning shot toward Xen. The surrounding air trembled from the immense electrical energy.
Xen immediately turned. Without even retreating, he swung his battle axe directly at the incoming dragon.
BOOOOOOM!!
The collision created a violent explosion. Lightning spread wildly across the battlefield. Smoke filled the air.
Yet when it cleared, Xen remained standing. Not a single visible injury appeared on his body.
However those combined attacks had achieved their true purpose. They had stalled him for several precious seconds.
And for Seraphina that was all the time she needed.
Suddenly chains made entirely of condensed light erupted from the ground.

They wrapped tightly around Xen’s legs. Two more chains shot toward his wrists.
Everything happened far too quickly. Even Xen failed to react. The glowing chains immediately tightened.
"AAARRRGHHH!!"
A painful scream escaped his mouth. It was a if the divine light burned his skin upon contact.
Smoke rose from the wounds. Seraphina remained standing several meters away.
She was calm and unmoving. One of her hands slowly rose into the air. Her expression remained cold and emotionless.
Only her brilliant golden eyes shone with deadly intensity.
Crack...
Xen suddenly froze. His struggling stopped. He had heard something.
A strange cracking sound. Slowly his eyes lifted toward the sky. To see what he just heard now.
"What..."
A crack had appeared high above him. His pupils shrank as he narrowed his eyes.
The crack continued spreading. It became larger and larger. The very sky itself seemed to be breaking apart.
"Wh-What’s happening?"
His voice trembled.
Then something slowly emerged from within the crack. First appeared a glowing golden tip. Little by little, more of it descended.
Its true appearance gradually became visible. It was a gigantic sword made entirely of condensed light.
More than three meters long. Pure divine radiance surrounded its blade.
The air itself trembled from the terrifying heat it emitted. "What the fu— Where is that coming fro—"
His eyes suddenly landed on Seraphina. Her empty hand remained extended toward him.
Realization struck him.
"YOU!!"
BOOOOM!!
Mana erupted from Xen’s body. A tremendous shockwave exploded outward. The surrounding trees shook violently. Leaves were blown away.
Even Aisha and Lark were pushed backward by the immense force. Only Seraphina remained standing exactly where she was.
Without moving an inch.
Xen roared and poured more mana into his body. The chain binding his right hand shattered.
CRACK!
Then the chain around his left hand broke as well.
CRACK!
He desperately tried to free himself completely.
But before he could escape. Seraphina slowly lowered her raised hand.
At that exact moment. The gigantic sword of light descended.
Like divine judgment itself. It tore through the atmosphere at unimaginable speed.
The sky screamed. The earth trembled.
"NOOO!!"
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
The colossal sword crashed directly onto Xen. A massive golden explosion erupted. Blinding light swallowed the battlefield. The shockwave spread throughout the surrounding forest.
BOOOOOOM!!!

Far away, Eliana had just landed gracefully on the ground after jumping from a tall tree.
At the same moment, Niza instinctively turned his head toward the source of the massive explosion.
Both he and Eliana raised an arm to shield their eyes from the blinding golden light.
"What just happened?"
Niza muttered with a worried expression.
"Is Xen okay?"
SWISH!!
A wind arrow suddenly shot toward him.
"Tch!"
Niza clicked his tongue.
He immediately swung one of his swords.
CLANG!
The arrow was split apart. Its wind mana dispersed into the air.
"You think you can defeat me?"
Niza said with a cold smirk. "Your two friends already tried."
"They’re both down. And you think you can?"
Eliana didn’t answer.
Instead her body began radiating a beautiful emerald-green light.
Warm life energy flowed around her. The surrounding plants gently swayed in response.
Niza frowned.
"That’s... what..."
Before he could finish speaking, a magical portal appeared before Eliana. Its surface shimmered like rippling water. Something slowly emerged from within.
Niza’s instincts screamed.
He immediately raised both swords into a defensive stance. Then a gigantic wolf stepped out of the portal.
Its fur was pure white. Its emerald eyes shone with intelligence.
Powerful streams of wind continuously swirled around its body. The surrounding breeze immediately came under its control.
"A spirit?"
Niza’s eyes widened.
"Dammit!"
The enormous wolf fixed its emerald eyes upon him.
BOOM!
It shot forward like a hurricane. The surrounding winds obeyed its will. Powerful blades of wind circled around its body as it charged.
Niza immediately activated his air-pressure ability.
However nothing happened. The surrounding wind ignored his command completely. His expression changed.
"Shit! My wind magic won’t work."
