Chapter 1228: Their Location
Aldrian and the twins already left the battle area far behind as they moved north while concealing themselves. They also comprehended karma laws, so they built a barrier to prevent anything with a karmic nature from tracking them.
After moving far enough away, Aldrian ordered them to stop.
"Wait."
The twins instantly stopped and turned toward Aldrian’s direction. Although they could not see him because of each other’s concealment techniques, they still knew his position. They wondered why Aldrian suddenly ordered them to stop.
Aldrian did not say anything further and creating his domain once again. The moment his domain spread out, he felt a refreshing sensation wash over his body. The feeling was much stronger than when he built his domain in the First Heaven.
’Is it because the Second Heaven is already under Avergis’ control?’
He truly felt how strange the heaven and earth energy in this place was without his domain. The heaven and earth energy here felt much heavier and more suffocating.
The Second Heaven possessed much denser heaven and earth energy than the First Heaven, but it should not have felt like this. That oppressive sensation should not exist, even without him building his domain.
The moment his domain was created, the feeling was as if he had just become more complete. It was like something that had once been lost had finally returned to him, and that was the normal sensation he felt each time he created his domain. Yet this time, the sensation was even more satisfying.
"Do you feel anything strange when using the heaven and earth energy here?" Aldrian asked the twins.
"No, Your Majesty," Zervan and Zarven replied almost at the same time.
Aldrian nodded. It looked like that sensation only applied to him.
"Is there something wrong, Your Majesty?" Zervan asked.
"Nothing. I just wanted to confirm something," Aldrian said.
He put aside those thoughts as he wanted to test his guess about the connection between his domain in this place and the domain in the First Heaven.
To make sure anyone would have difficulty tracking them, Aldrian wanted to destroy the corpses of those followers of Tarius and Avergis. He tried to connect with his domain in the First Heaven, and he actually succeeded.
Aldrian felt ecstatic. After that, he focused on the corpses before teleporting all of them into one of the black holes.
After making sure nothing was left behind from the corpses, Aldrian looked at the twins.
"Let’s continue."
The twins did not say anything and simply followed Aldrian. After a few moments of silence, Aldrian spoke again.
"We are in the eastern immortal Zhu family realm within the Purple Lotus Sect domain in the eastern region of the Second Heaven. This place is under the Zhu family’s control, and they are one of the prominent families within the Purple Lotus Sect domain."
The twins looked confused, but then they sighed.
"I explored much of the Second Heaven in the past, yet I never heard this name before. Those followers of Avergis must have changed the names of the territories here," Zervan said.
His voice carried an irritated tone. Zarven also agreed.
"Yes, you are right. In the past, this realm belonged to the Pei family of the Western Sky Lord domain," Aldrian said. He compared this place with the memories from his past life.
The twins nodded in understanding. If that was the old name, then they knew where they were.
The structure of the Second Heaven was much different from the First Heaven. The Second Heaven was much vaster and far more segregated, with clear boundaries between territories.
The Second Heaven was divided into four major regions: north, south, east, and west. At the border of each region, there was a spatial barrier that could clearly be seen as the boundary between regions.
The barrier here was not an absolute wall that prevented anything from passing through. Cultivators could still cross it, although it was recommended to use transportation if they were below the Immortal Overlord stage.
That was because the barrier exuded heavy gravity that would easily exhaust anyone below that level. To completely pass through the border region and enter another territory, cultivators had to travel across a distance stretching thousands of kilometers.
Because of that, using transportation was the safer choice.
Within each major region, there were still countless domains. Unlike the First Heaven, these domains were not separated by space but by the void, a darkness that contained absolutely nothing within it, not even heaven and earth energy.
The shape of each domain was also different from the globe-like planets of the First Heaven. Instead, they were vast stretches of land with sizes far greater than any world in the First Heaven.
Inside each domain, there were many realms, and every realm was separated by the same type of barrier that divided the four major regions, possessing the same properties.
Aldrian knew that the realm where he and the twins currently were possessed a vastness far greater than the Barisan Continent. The city they were about to visit was one of the largest cities within this realm.
"The white-robed cultivators we killed were cultivators of the Zhu family, and that Immortal Overlord cultivator was one of their elders," Aldrian continued.
"It looks like the battle between the followers of Tarius and Avergis is still quite intense here, despite the efforts from a third party to ease the situation."
"Those two groups just now happened to encounter each other. Tarius’ followers wanted to create chaos in the city, but the cultivators of the Zhu family discovered them."
As Aldrian finished speaking, they suddenly saw several dots in the distance. The dots slowly became larger before a few figures wearing the same white robes as the Zhu family cultivators became clear to Aldrian and the twins.
The figures quickly passed by them without realizing they had just passed Aldrian and the twins, heading toward the location of the battle between their cultivators and Tarius’ followers.
"Two Immortal Overlords and four Immortal Lords. It looks like they are reinforcements from the Zhu family," Zarven said while they continued flying without stopping.
Aldrian glanced at the cultivators who had already disappeared into the horizon before looking forward again.
"Just let them. They will never know it was us," he said as they flew toward their destination.
While Aldrian and the twins continued their journey, the cultivators from the Zhu family arrived a few moments later at the place where their family’s cultivators had fought against Tarius’ followers. They observed the area for a moment, yet they found nothing.
"Strange. Where are Elder Wenhao and the rest of his group? I cannot sense their presence," a man with short black hair asked.
"It is clear they fought against those savages. Their remnant energy is still very obvious. The battle was also intense enough to flatten Red Cliff Mountain," another man with long brown hair said.
"But their traces suddenly disappear there. It is as if they vanished completely. This is truly strange," a woman with long black hair said. She then looked toward the woman with Immortal Overlord cultivation.
"What do you think, Elder Junyao?"
The woman with long blue hair observed the area for a moment before turning toward the man beside her, who possessed the same cultivation level as her.
"What do you think, Elder Xuan? From my observation, it seems something happened to both sides that suddenly stopped their battle, which is already strange by itself. Even then, they should not have disappeared without leaving any trace behind."
The man beside Elder Junyao was a middle-aged man with long black hair and a moustache. His gaze swept across the area before he took a deep breath and slowly released it.
"Someone intervened and stopped their battle," he said, causing Elder Junyao to raise her eyebrows.
"What did you sense? Is your karmic tracking technique finding anything?" she asked.
"That is the problem. I cannot track their bodies."
Elder Junyao was surprised after hearing that.
"If I cannot track them using the karmic tracking technique, then that means someone deliberately made them untraceable. Someone doing that means Elder Wenhao and the others are either already dead or captured somewhere," Elder Xuan added.
"Someone could do that to Elder Wenhao and those under him? Does that mean this unknown party also did the same to those savages?" Elder Junyao asked.
"It seems so, and that is why I am confused. Are they targeting both our group and those savages? Who dares to offend both of us by doing this?" Elder Xuan asked with doubt and confusion in his voice.
Elder Junyao also fell into thought. After a few moments, she spoke to Elder Xuan again.
"Is it possible this is the doing of those remnants from the blasphemous rebel groups that always stand against our god?"
Elder Xuan thought for a moment before opening his lips.
"That is possible, but they have not been active in this realm for thousands of years. Instead, I heard their operations are mostly in the northern region. Even then, they have not done much to the point that even the Realm Lord can deal with them personally."
Elder Junyao narrowed her eyes and looked at the area again.
"Anyway, for now let’s report this to the Patriarch first. Let’s see what he decides to do. In my opinion, he will likely take this matter seriously since Elder Wenhao is a powerful elder. There is even a possibility that an Immortal Saint cultivator is involved," Elder Xuan continued.
Elder Junyao nodded, and then they began handling their own tasks.
