Chapter 652: Chapter 610: Young Philosopher! (3)
"What happened then?" Shaken, Ji Yi turned and asked, her voice trembling.
"We rescued her in the nick of time! But the psychological trauma remains, and now I’m troubled by how to solve this. After all, the root of this whole incident was me. If it weren’t for me, Yinuo wouldn’t have become a target, and her two classmates wouldn’t have been dragged into it! I’ve wronged them, and now I owe them a debt of conscience!" Qin Fan said, shaking his head and gritting his teeth, his voice lowered so only Ji Yi could hear.
"Who did it? Was it that guy from the Dragon Palace of the East Sea?" Hearing that Yinuo was rescued, Ji Yi breathed a sigh of relief and pressed on.
Qin Fan didn’t try to hide it. "No, the kidnapping has been dealt with. What perplexes me now is how to handle their psychological issues!"
"Leave it to me! I’ll help you!" Seeing that Qin Fan didn’t want to elaborate on the kidnapping, Ji Yi didn’t pry any further, her tone becoming serious.
This left Qin Fan dumbfounded. He stopped in his tracks and asked, "You can solve it?"
"Of course! Have you forgotten what I majored in? Psychology! I just chose to freely pursue a life in photography after graduation, but my foundation in psychology is as strong as ever. Several psychological institutions are constantly trying to hire me as a temporary consultant, but I’m too lazy to fly all over the place, so I turn them all down. What, don’t you trust your big sis?" Her serious expression vanished as she clapped a hand on Qin Fan’s shoulder, her carefree attitude an attempt to dispel the melancholy that always seemed to surface around him.
"I almost forgot about that! But sis, what’s your plan?" The worried look on Qin Fan’s face faded as he raised his eyebrows and smiled.
"I came to Jinling not just for a photoshoot series on the nyotaimori feast, but also to create a photographic documentary called ’Charming Jinling.’ I’ve already planned the route and I’m about to start in the next day or two, visiting every scenic spot and historical site in the city. I plan on bringing Yinuo and her friends along. Anyway, don’t worry about the details. I’ll deliver perfect results! Don’t doubt my professional skills!" Ji Yi said with a grin.
"Alright. In that case, you contact Yinuo and arrange everything. I hope your expertise really works!" The anxiety in Qin Fan’s heart gradually eased with Ji Yi’s words, and he chuckled lightly.
"Relax, I won’t let that Supreme Black Dragon Card you gave me go to waste! Haha, but seriously, since your big sis has stepped up to solve your problems, shouldn’t you show a little appreciation?" Ji Yi said, draping an arm over Qin Fan’s shoulder and spinning him around.
"What kind of appreciation did you have in mind?" Qin Fan asked, the corners of his lips curling into a smirk amidst the astonished stares of the students passing by.
"Talking money? You’ve already given me some. Talking people? You’re too young and a married man, so I won’t ask you to repay me with your body. How about this: treat me to a meal at your school cafeteria! I’m suddenly feeling nostalgic for the big-pot meals from my university days!"
Before Qin Fan could protest, Ji Yi hooked an arm over his shoulder and led him toward the school gate, laughing as they went. He could only offer a helpless smile, never expecting Ji Yi’s tastes could be so sentimental as to include cafeteria food.
Under countless curious gazes, Qin Fan coolly led Ji Yi toward the school cafeteria. After a hearty meal, a satisfied Ji Yi suddenly asked, "Where are Yinuo and her classmates now?"
"In their dorm room. Why?" Qin Fan asked, puzzled.
"Arrange it. I’m going up to assess the situation," Ji Yi said, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"Okay!"
"Then let’s go!" Ji Yi stood and authoritatively pulled Qin Fan to his feet before striding out with her head held high.
「Outside the women’s dormitory.」
When the dorm auntie saw Qin Fan approaching again, she frowned. "What is this little ancestor trying to stir up now?" she muttered. Unsettled, she went over to intercept him.
Before she could speak, Qin Fan beat her to it with a laugh. "Auntie, don’t worry, I’m not going up this time!"
Right on cue, the ever-adaptable Ji Yi flashed a playful smile and added, "Auntie, I’m Yinuo’s older sister. I want to go up and give her a surprise. May I?"
"Can I say no?" the dorm auntie asked, glancing at Qin Fan with a resigned, wry smile.
"Of course you can! If you say no, I’ll just have to get official permission from the school. But I’m sure you wouldn’t make me go to all that trouble, right?" Ji Yi said, winking mischievously.
"Fine, fine. You’re all little princesses and I can’t win. Go on up! And remember, Qin Fan, you stop right here!" The dorm auntie shook her head, giving in with a smile.
"Got it! Thank you! Come here, let’s hug!" With that, Ji Yi cheerfully opened her arms and embraced the bewildered dorm auntie. She then turned to Qin Fan. "Which room is Yinuo in?"
"Building H, Room 308!" Qin Fan replied.
"Sorted! You don’t have to worry about the rest. Go and have your fun!" Releasing the dorm auntie, Ji Yi waved to Qin Fan over her shoulder and walked deeper into the building, her graceful figure exuding the charm of a mature beauty.
Qin Fan watched her until she disappeared from sight, a genuine smile spreading across his face. He gave the dorm auntie a polite nod and then stuffed his hands in his pockets, heading back toward the men’s dormitory.
Amidst a ceaseless stream of greetings, Qin Fan nodded until he was numb. By the time he got back to his room, he saw that Wang Dalu and Zhu Houqing were nowhere in sight, which to his relief meant he could enjoy some peace and quiet.
After a shower, he climbed into bed and fell soundly asleep. He slept so deeply that he lost track of time, only to be jolted awake by a commotion outside.
"What’s going on?" he mumbled, jumping out of bed and heading out of the room.
"Boss Fan!"
"Boss Fan!"
"Boss Fan!"
The moment they saw Qin Fan emerge, all the students gathered outside turned and called out to him.
"What’s wrong? What’s all the noise?" Qin Fan asked with a frown, looking at the crowd gathered outside Room 709.
"Boss Fan, some Koreans are here to issue a challenge to Young Master Zhe!" a student replied, his face filled with indignation.
"Who? Young Master Zhe? You mean Li Yunzhe?" Qin Fan asked.
"Yes!" the student nodded.
"Wait, since when did he become ’Young Master Zhe’?" Qin Fan couldn’t help but smile with amusement.
"We used to call him Brother Zhe, but he said that wasn’t imposing enough, so he had us change it to Young Master Zhe. Now everyone calls him that!" the student explained sheepishly.
He thinks ’Brother Zhe’ isn’t imposing enough and wants to be called ’Young Master Zhe’? It seems that trip to the Dragon Palace of the East Sea has really gone to that wolf’s head!
With that thought, Qin Fan’s lips curled into a smirk. Without asking what was happening inside, he walked toward the door of Room 709 as the students automatically parted to make way for him. He rapped on the door.
"Who is it?" a hurried voice called from within.
"It’s me, Qin Fan."
Following Qin Fan’s calm reply, the door was quickly thrown open less than three seconds later.
