Chapter 643: Chapter 601: Borrowing the Spiritual Medicine Garden! (1)

If one were to ask Yao Jianjia what the most inconceivable thing in the world was, her answer would undoubtedly be that Qin Fan was looking for her. When the voice came through the phone—"This is Qin Fan"—Yao Jianjia, who had been sipping some water, choked and nearly sprayed it everywhere.

Setting down her cup, she stared wide-eyed and exclaimed, "Who did you say you are?"

"Qin Fan," the voice reiterated from the other end, where Qin Fan was strolling leisurely through the wilderness.

"You... why are you calling me?" Yao Jianjia asked in disbelief, having recognized the voice and no longer doubting his identity.

"Give me the contact information for Medicine Valley," Qin Fan said, getting straight to the point.

Medicine Valley? Contact information?

Hearing these words, an unmistakable wariness appeared on Yao Jianjia’s face. Glancing at her roommates who were still asleep, she took her phone and walked out onto the balcony. "What exactly do you want with Medicine Valley’s contact information?"

"That’s none of your concern. Just give it to me," Qin Fan’s voice was cool and direct. He was not asking for a favor; this was a demand.

"And what if I say no?" Yao Jianjia bit her lip.

"You should know that the existence of Medicine Valley isn’t a secret to me. I just don’t want to waste time making a trip myself," Qin Fan stated.

As his words settled, Yao Jianjia fell silent. Qin Fan was not in a hurry for her response. He knew she would talk. Out of fear of him and concern for Medicine Valley, she had no reason to refuse.

"Write down the satellite phone number," a resigned Yao Jianjia said from the dormitory balcony after a moment of internal struggle.

"Go on."

At Qin Fan’s indifferent prompt, Yao Jianjia recited a string of numbers. Then she added, "What on earth are you planning to do now? You’ve already destroyed eight-tenths of the Spiritual Medicine Garden! Bastard, do you have any idea how much you’ve weakened Medicine Valley? And now that the Gu Clan knows about our situation, they’re watching us like vultures! You killed Miao Haohao and put Miao Yingjie in his place, but do you even know what kind of person he is? He’s a treacherous, sly wolf!"

As she spoke, Yao Jianjia seemed to lose her fear of Qin Fan, even daring to call him a bastard. It was not that she had grown brave, but rather that she knew he would not deign to argue with her.

Sure enough, Qin Fan met her indignant outburst with a noncommittal, playful smile. "Whether he’s cunning or a sly wolf, what does that have to do with me? I merely crushed one ant and allowed another to take its place. Why should I care about his character? As for your Medicine Valley’s Spiritual Medicine Garden, I can only apologize. And that apology may have to be extended, because I’d like to borrow it again. But rest assured, Medicine Valley won’t be at a loss. I, Qin Fan, will owe you a favor."

What?! He wants to borrow the Spiritual Medicine Garden again? Damn it! Does this bastard want to take the entire thing for himself?

"Bastard, you’re planning to enter Medicine Valley again?" Yao Jianjia cried out, her expression changing drastically.

But Qin Fan, no longer bothering with conversation, just smiled leisurely and hung up. He then summoned a satellite phone from his storage space—one he had been issued while serving as an instructor in the Northwest military region. Dialing the number Yao Jianjia had given him, he made the call.

"I’m looking for Valley Master Yao," Qin Fan said authoritatively as soon as the call was connected.

"Who is this?" a wary, middle-aged voice answered from a communications room deep within the unknown Secret Realm in Southwest Chuanshu, a place tasked with receiving information from the outside world.

"Qin Fan," he replied slowly, his tone calm and deliberate.

The moment those two words were spoken, the middle-aged man on the other end nearly dropped the receiver in fright. For the entire Medicine Valley, that name was a nightmare.

"What... what do you want?" the man stammered, panicking at the unexpected call from this calamitous figure.

"Let me speak with Valley Master Yao," Qin Fan said patiently, unfazed by the man’s reaction.

"Just... just wait a moment!"

The nightmare had returned. Knowing he was in no position to deal with this person, the middle-aged man hastily grabbed the transmitter on his desk and sent a signal to Yao Junxian.

"Valley Master, it’s Qin Fan! Qin Fan is here!" the man cried out in terror once the signal connected.

"What?!" Yao Junxian, who had been calmly sipping tea in his Taishi Chair, leaped to his feet. His entire face began to twitch uncontrollably.

"Where is he?" Yao Junxian’s whole body trembled violently as he spoke. Qin Fan coming to Medicine Valley? Could that ever be good news? Impossible! That bastard must be here to wreak havoc again!

"Valley Master, I... I panicked and misspoke! He isn’t here! He just called our satellite phone and said he wants to speak with you! Should I connect you to him?" the middle-aged man said in a rush.

He isn’t here? It’s just a phone call?

Hearing this, Yao Junxian breathed a small sigh of relief. But no sooner had he relaxed than his heart seized up again. Whether it was an in-person visit or a phone call, an appearance by Qin Fan was always a harbinger of disaster for Medicine Valley. Although Qin Fan had given them several Longevity Pills last time as compensation for ravaging the Spiritual Medicine Garden, their losses were so severe that even with those heaven-defying pills, the valley’s Primordial Energy had been greatly damaged.

Most importantly, it was because of something Qin Fan had said that all five Valley Guardian Elders left Medicine Valley. They went to the outside world to pursue the so-called path of Cultivation, which in turn left the valley vulnerable to the predatory gaze of Miao Yingjie from the Gu Clan.

"Connect him."

Though a million voices inside him screamed not to, Yao Junxian had no choice. If he refused the call and provoked that disaster into storming their gates again, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Yes, yes, Valley Master!" the man in the communications room replied with a tremor in his voice, quickly patching the call through.

"Divine Envoy! To what do I owe the pleasure of your call?" Once connected, Yao Junxian immediately swallowed his resentment and spoke with a fawning, insincere tone.

Divine Envoy?

Qin Fan was taken aback for a moment. Then he recalled the five Valley Guardian Elders addressing him with that title after he had left the Spiritual Medicine Garden months ago. At the thought, he could not help but smile. He did not know what "Divine Envoy" truly meant, nor could he be bothered to find out.

Hearing the feigned humility in Yao Junxian’s voice, Qin Fan chuckled noncommittally. "Valley Master Yao," he said, "I’m afraid I’ll need to trouble your Medicine Valley once again."

Yao Junxian’s heart leaped into his throat. He struggled to remain calm, but it was useless.

"Divine Envoy, what do you mean by that?" Yao Junxian asked, his voice trembling.

"It’s nothing much. I just want to borrow your Spiritual Medicine Garden for a while," Qin Fan said. "Don’t worry, it won’t be like last time. I won’t cause such a great reduction in your rare spiritual medicines."
