Chapter 120: Chapter 120 Meeting With The Guest 4

Realizing words alone were no longer enough, Beta Felix immediately turned toward Maddison with a grim expression.

Understanding his intention instantly, Maddison shifted back into her human form despite the danger surrounding them. Her bare feet stepped carefully across the damaged ground as she slowly approached the massive black wolf standing amidst the destruction.

"Nathan... babe... please calm down, will you?" Maddison pleaded softly, her voice trembling as tears gathered in her eyes. "I’m here... could you let me come closer?"

Her voice cracked near the end, carrying a faint sob that revealed both fear and desperation.

Unfortunately, Nathan seemed completely incapable of hearing her anymore.

The enormous wolf suddenly lunged at another warrior attempting to restrain him. A savage snarl tore from his throat as his jaws clamped violently onto the warrior’s leg.

"Aghhh!"

Before anyone could react, Nathan viciously flung the warrior away like a rag doll. The man’s body crashed heavily against a nearby wall with a loud, sickening bang strong enough to crack the surface on impact.

A weak whine escaped the injured warrior before his unconscious body slid limply onto the ground.

The surrounding warriors instinctively stiffened, their expressions turning pale as fear spread among them once more. Nathan was no longer fighting like a rational Alpha. At this point, he was acting like a beast driven entirely by fury and instinct.

"Nathan... please stop..." Maddison pleaded again, her voice trembling with desperation.

The moment she finished speaking, she suddenly rushed toward him in a flash of movement, determined to get closer despite the danger. Having shifted back into her human form moments earlier, she was completely bare, but none of the werewolves present paid much attention to it.

Their kind constantly shifted between wolf and human forms during battles and emergencies, so nudity was something they had long grown accustomed to. Even so, Beta Felix and several warriors still subtly averted their eyes out of basic respect, forcing their attention instead onto Nathan’s massive Alpha wolf.

At that moment, the enormous beast stood amidst the destruction like a creature consumed entirely by madness. His fur was matted in places, his chest heaving violently as low growls rumbled from deep within his throat. The air around him felt suffocating beneath the pressure of his unstable Alpha aura.

But the instant Maddison darted closer, Nathan’s wolf reacted sharply.

His massive head snapped toward her with terrifying speed.

Before anyone could stop it, his jaws opened violently and clamped down onto Maddison’s shoulder.

"Ahhh!" 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

A scream of pain tore from Maddison’s lips as fresh blood instantly spilled down her body. The surrounding warriors froze in shock, their expressions turning horrified as they watched Nathan bite the very woman trying to calm him down.

"Ahhh!"

Maddison let out another painful groan as Nathan’s sharp teeth sank deeper into her shoulder. Blood seeped like flowing water from the wound, staining her pale skin as the crushing force of his bite made her entire body tremble.

Then, without the slightest hesitation, Nathan violently jerked his head and flung her away.

For a horrifying moment, Maddison felt her feet leave the ground completely as her body was tossed through the air like discarded trash.

Bang!

Her back slammed hard against the thick trunk of a nearby tree with enough force to make the entire tree shake violently.

"Ahhh!" Maddison screamed again, the impact sending a wave of agonizing pain tearing through her body. Her teeth clenched tightly as she instinctively curled forward from the pain, while cold sweat immediately formed across her forehead.

For a brief moment, her vision darkened completely. The world around her spun violently as the force of the collision nearly knocked her unconscious on the spot.

"Luna Maddison!" Beta Felix shouted through the mindlink in alarm, fear instantly gripping his chest the moment he saw her body crash against the tree trunk.

The force behind the impact had been terrifyingly brutal. If the angle had been even slightly worse, it could have easily shattered Maddison’s spine and left the lower half of her body permanently crippled for the rest of her life.

Without wasting another second, Beta Felix immediately rushed toward her. Midway, he shifted back into his human form and quickly caught Maddison before she could completely collapse to the ground. Carefully supporting her injured body, he helped her struggle back into a sitting position while blood continued flowing from the bite wound on her shoulder.

"You alright?!" Beta Felix asked urgently, though his expression remained grim.

Maddison’s face had already turned pale from pain, cold sweat covering her forehead as she tried to steady her breathing.

"Shit..." Beta Felix cursed under his breath before turning his head back toward Nathan. "Why did the Alpha suddenly go feral?!"

Not far away, Nathan’s massive wolf form remained trapped within a loose circle of warriors desperately trying to block his path. None of them dared approach recklessly anymore after witnessing what had happened to Madison and the others earlier.

Low growls continuously rumbled from Nathan’s throat as his bloodshot eyes swept across everyone around him with terrifying hostility, as though he no longer recognized friend from foe. The unstable Alpha aura radiating from him only continued growing heavier, making the surrounding warriors feel suffocated beneath the pressure.

"Luna Maddison... what exactly is happening?" Beta Felix demanded, his voice tense with frustration and exhaustion as he supported her injured body. "Why doesn’t the Alpha even recognize you anymore?"

His tone carried an unmistakable trace of accusation despite his effort to remain respectful. At this point, the pressure crushing down on him was simply too overwhelming.

"You’re his fated mate," Beta Felix continued through gritted teeth. "Among all of us, your bond with him should be the strongest. Your presence alone should’ve been enough to calm him down, so why isn’t it working?"

The question hung heavily between them.

In truth, Beta Felix was already running out of options. He could not continue allowing their own Alpha to tear through the pack’s warriors one after another. If too many of their fighters became injured or incapacitated, their Pack would become dangerously vulnerable. Rogues, rival packs, or hidden enemies could easily seize the opportunity to attack once word spread that their defenses had weakened.

That possibility alone was enough to send cold fear crawling down his spine.

Which was why he had desperately pinned all his hopes on Maddison. As Nathan’s fated mate, she should have been the one person capable of reaching him even in his unstable state.

Their mate bond was supposed to be deeper than instinct itself. There had never been a case where an Alpha completely rejected or failed to recognize the presence of his own mate during a feral episode.

But now, not only had Nathan failed to calm down after sensing Maddison, he had outright attacked her.

No one knew what to do anymore.

There was no precedent for this situation in pack history, no guidance, no solution.

And if even the presence of his fated mate could not pull Nathan back to his senses... then what possibly could?

"Luna Maddison... maybe your bond with the Alpha still isn’t strong enough," Felix suddenly said after a troubling thought crossed his mind. "Maybe the two of you needed to mark each other first to strengthen the mate bond?"
