Chapter 244: Elder Derek’s Plan Fails
Elder Derek was surprised by the sudden burst of killing intent, but he wasn’t all shocked because everything was still within plans, or so he thought. He was all moved by Bahamut’s sudden sense of clarity. If anything, it was the opposite.
"I like rebellious boys more~" He commented with that same sultry and seductive tone, a very deep blush covering his face.
"And I will kill you!" Bahamut roared and conjured a dense waterball in an instant and threw it into Derek’s face. The waterball attack was so fast that Derek failed to react in time and was hit squarely in the face.
"You-! Why isn’t it working?!" He screamed in pain and anger as he dodged another waterball from Bahamut. He tore his gaze from him and looked towards a small, incense pot by the closed window. ’Is it a fake?’
"Were you trying to drug me?" Bahamut halted in his attacks and looked at the incense pot. He could smell the sweet scent coming from it.

BANG!
"You are not getting away!" Derek exclaimed as he conjured a whip made of light to entangle Bahamut, but Bahamut was more than prepared. A smoke of darkness gushed out of him. The whip of light slammed into the darkness erupting from Bahamut’s body and exploded violently. The entire luxurious room shook as furniture shattered instantly.
Derek’s expression twisted.
"What the hell are you?!"
Bahamut didn’t answer. His crimson eyes glowed like twin suns beneath the slipping blindfold while darkness poured endlessly from his body like living smoke, causing the room temperature to plummet instantly. He moved.
BOOOOOM!!!
The floor exploded. Derek barely managed to twist his body sideways before Bahamut’s fist smashed through the wall behind him like a cannonball. Water coated Bahamut’s fist in spiraling currents dense enough to crack stone from pressure alone.
CRAAAAASH!!!
The entire side of the room burst outward, and the inn trembled violently.
"You little—!"
Derek’s aura exploded outward in response. Light erupted around his body as dozens of glowing whips manifested behind him simultaneously, like serpents. They shot toward Bahamut from every direction, causing his instincts to scream wildly. Darkness surged beneath his feet.
SHING! SHING! SHING!
The whips pierced through afterimages as Bahamut vanished between shadows unnaturally fast. One whip clipped his shoulder slightly and immediately burned through part of his clothes.
"Tch!"
Tier 3. Derek was definitely Tier 3.
Bahamut realized it instantly. Even holding back, the pressure radiating from the elder felt monstrous. But something else bothered Derek more. The aphrodisiac... Why wasn’t it working?! That substance could cripple dragons, yet Bahamut looked furious instead of intoxicated.
"You should’ve been begging beneath me by now..." Derek’s breathing became ragged.
Bahamut’s expression darkened instantly.
"Yeah," he said quietly. "I’m definitely killing you."
BOOOOOOOOM!!!
Water exploded outward behind him like wings as he launched himself forward with terrifying force. Derek raised both arms instinctively.
KRAAAAAAAAAASH!!!
Bahamut’s punch slammed into his crossed guard and blasted him backward through three walls instantly. The entire inn shook while people screamed downstairs. The illusion zone flickered faintly. Outside the room, hidden formation marks carved into the inn’s structure pulsed violently as Calil frowned from another location.
"What?"
Something was wrong. The illusion was destabilizing.
Back inside...
Derek roared angrily. Golden light erupted around him fully now as his Demigod aura leaked outward uncontrollably and the room began melting from pressure. Bahamut’s eyes narrowed. So this bastard had finally stopped pretending.
"You really are insane," Derek growled while blood dripped from the corner of his lips. "But that just makes me want you more."
"Disgusting."
Bahamut raised his hand. causing darkness to condense violently in it.
FWOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A gigantic sphere of compressed water and darkness erupted forward like a tidal cannon, making Derek’s eyes widen. He crossed both arms, coating them with tiny shields of light.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The entire inn exploded outward. The upper floors shattered apart as a colossal blast erupted from the side of the building. Water, darkness, wood, and light exploded into the skies simultaneously.
Outside, the illusion zone trembled violently.
CRACK.
One of the hidden illusion nodes buried beneath the district shattered completely, and instantly, everyone affected felt it.
Sel stopped walking mid-step. "...What?"
Exildra blinked as the street around her suddenly distorted unnaturally.
"Where’s Bahamut?" Lily froze.
Ren’s eyes widened instantly: the small bunny’s aura exploded.
"We’ve been separated."
The fake scenery around them flickered repeatedly now. Buildings shifted positions unnaturally, roads twisted, and people vanished. The illusion was breaking.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Another explosion echoed across the Oasis District, this one louder and more visible. A pillar of water and darkness erupted into the skies from the Silver Sand Inn. The entire district froze. Everyone realized something was horribly wrong.
...
Back at the collapsing inn, Bahamut burst through the debris like a missile. He exploded through the roof and landed atop the shattered remains of the building while darkness swirled around him violently. His blindfold had partially torn apart now, with golden draconic eyes glowing beneath it with murderous fury.
Below him, Derek slowly emerged from the rubble, bleeding and smiling maniacally. He was completely insane.
"Hah..." His face was flushed deeply. "You’re even better than I imagined..."
...
Elder Silvia was in her residence, drinking tea as usual, when her left antennae glowed with a deep blue light.
"I knew it! That idiot!" she cursed as she stood immediately, placed the goblet down, and disappeared from her room.
...
Elder Iset was going through some books in preparation for Exildra’s official training when Elder Silvia’s voice entered her head.
"He really did it. Inform the Chief Elder."
"Noted!"
Iset placed the book down and rushed out of the room.
