Chapter 443: Chapter 76: Ancient Heaven-Devouring Python Shocks the Celestial Spirit
As Dang Xiangjun’s thoughts raced, he noticed that over on Spirit Nurturing Peak, several Spirit Nurturing Masters had strange expressions on their faces. They looked shocked, yet there was a hint of pleasant surprise.
He paused. Instead of immediately asking about the Technique, he said, "The little one?"
Elder Huang chuckled. "Hah, just a troublesome beast I’ve raised for a few years. It just refuses to grow."
As he spoke, a small, jade-green snake slithered out from his sleeve.
Its body was as thick as a faucet pipe and about two feet long. It was a translucent, brilliant green, like a piece of jade, and it radiated the aura of a Primordial Alien Species.
The little snake slithered out of the sleeve, wound its way up Elder Huang’s arm, and came to rest on his shoulder. It coiled its body, raised its head to look at Dang Xiangjun, flicked its forked tongue, and then spoke in a human voice.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose. I’m still little, so I can’t suppress my aura. As soon as I leave my master’s sleeve, it just comes out like this."
The voice was clear and crisp, like that of an eight or nine-year-old child, and tinged with a faint frustration. It gave the distinct impression of a young kid.
Elder Huang glanced dotingly at the little snake on his shoulder and shook his head helplessly. "You, always causing trouble for this old man."
Dang Xiangjun stared at the little snake for a moment, then said in astonishment, "An Ancient Heaven-Devouring Python? But its size...?"
Elder Huang smiled. "Xiaoqing is the offspring of an Ancient Heaven-Devouring Python and a Jade Ruyi Python."
A glint appeared in Dang Xiangjun’s eyes. "My friend, you’ve truly taken in a fine Disciple. But it isn’t proper for us to continue chatting out in the open like this. Why don’t you accompany me to my Cave Mansion for a proper conversation?"
Elder Huang smiled. "Perhaps another day. My old friend originally intended to live quietly in your esteemed Sect. I am already at fault for what happened today, so I won’t continue to be a nuisance.
When we have another chance, I will be sure to offer a proper apology. For now, let’s leave it at that.
If this goes on any longer, we’ll likely attract unwanted attention, and that could lead to even more trouble."
With that, Elder Huang waved his sleeve, and the little jade snake zipped straight back inside.
His entire figure then reverted to an Energy Body before dissolving into a sky full of Spiritual Light, vanishing from above Spirit Nurturing Peak.
Watching the Spiritual Light dissipate, Dang Xiangjun frowned slightly. He glanced at the Jade Disc in his hand and hesitated, but in the end, he decided not to give chase. With a wave of his hand, the Jade Disc vanished.
He then glanced around at the onlookers and said, "Don’t just stand around gawking. Disperse."
The many surrounding Peak Masters and Elders all bowed respectfully before descending in unison.
However, after speaking, Dang Xiangjun didn’t return to the rear mountain. Instead, he took a single step and appeared before the Spirit Nurturing Three Elders.
The three elders of Spirit Nurturing Peak bowed in unison to Dang Xiangjun. "Greetings, Master Dang!"
Gu Liancai, in particular, clamped his mouth shut and didn’t say a word. The sight of Dang Xiangjun seemed to bring back some unpleasant memories—or perhaps even some cringeworthy moments from his past.
Despite his current level of Cultivation, Dang Xiangjun was still very polite to the three elders. He nodded and said, "It seems to me that the three of you know something about what happened today?"
The three of them stiffened. Gu Liancai and Gan Zili eventually turned to look at Yue Mengsheng. After a moment of hesitation, Yue Mengsheng said, "If this Disciple’s guess is correct, then today’s events are likely related to the other Peak Master of our peak."
"Another Peak Master? I’ve been in seclusion for less than five years. When did Spirit Nurturing Peak get another Peak Master? And how is it that I was never informed?
Wait a minute...
A Tier Four celebration? Could it be..."
Dang Xiangjun’s words trailed off as he looked at Yue Mengsheng, his face a mixture of delighted surprise and eager anticipation.
Yue Mengsheng nodded. "Barring any unforeseen circumstances, that should be it. The matter of the Law-Level Spirit Nurturer."
"Is it true?" Dang Xiangjun asked, overjoyed.
Yue Mengsheng paused for a moment. "This Disciple isn’t entirely sure either. However, I observed that his strength is close to returning to the Duality realm. If he truly manages to reach Tier Four, we should know for certain very soon. After all, with Duality Cultivation, one can use Law-Level Techniques."
Dang Xiangjun looked confused for a moment. "What’s going on? Explain everything to me in detail."
Yue Mengsheng looked at Dang Xiangjun and said, "Master Dang, why don’t we head back to our place? We can talk things over there."
Dang Xiangjun nodded. "Alright. Explain as we go."
The group of four flew down toward the Cloud Pool on Spirit Nurturing Peak. Yue Mengsheng began to explain, "It all started twenty years ago, when this Disciple acted on a sudden whim..."
...
Inside the Flying Spring Waterfall Tower, Zhang Deming’s mind snapped back to his body, and he quickly separated the Bloodline Runes in his Dantian.
’Nope, can’t mess with that! Definitely can’t mess with that!’
’The Dragon and Snake Rune and Sleeve Qiankun make an Ancient Heaven-Devouring Python. So if the Powerful Ape Rune combines with the Ruyi Vine, which contains the Wishing Size Skill, wouldn’t that create a Long-Armed Ape?’
’The aura of an Ancient Great Demon like that would be enough to send the entire Celestial Spirit Sect into an uproar, right? After all, it would be appearing right inside the Sect, within the Sect Protection Array.’
’Hmm... then again, it seems the Sect is already in an uproar today!’
After undoing the Rune combination, Zhang Deming quickly cleaned everything up. He left the Magic Cultivation Room, went out into the small courtyard, and with a wave of his hand, conjured a tea set, striking the pose of a lazy bum enjoying a quiet cup of tea.
A moment later, Song Huidong came rushing over. Seeing Zhang Deming leisurely sipping his tea, he stopped short. "Junior Brother Zhang, you can still find the mood to drink tea?"
Zhang Deming set down his cup and smiled. "Senior Brother Song, what do you mean by that?"
Song Huidong said, "Didn’t you notice what just happened, Junior Brother Zhang?"
Zhang Deming chuckled. "A scene with all the Sect’s Elders showing up at once... I’m not blind, Senior Brother, of course I noticed. But it’s not like we can do anything to help in a situation like that, so what’s the point in worrying?"
