Just then, a palace maid at the door said with a smile, "Miss Rong, Nanny asks you to pack your belongings for a room change."
Rong Yuan was elated, "Really?"
"Did the Imperial Concubine say something?"
The palace maid only smiled, "I don’t know, it’s all according to Nanny’s orders."
She then told another girl in the room, "Miss Liu, you can change rooms too, quickly pack your belongings."
Rong Yuan and Miss Liu both happily directed their maids to pack up.
Since the room was small and many belongings hadn’t been unpacked, packing was fast.
Before long, Rong Yuan’s maid came out carrying two large bundles, and upon coming out noticed many were already in the courtyard, maids with bundles, and girls with smiles on their faces.
Nanny Liu carefully surveyed the courtyard, then said softly, "Nanny Xu, everyone is here."
Nanny Xu nodded expressionlessly, then told the girls in the courtyard, "I heard you find the rooms small and uncomfortable, so the Empress, being compassionate, has instructed you to go home."
Some girls were still smiling, but the slightly smarter ones turned pale; going home, doesn’t that mean they’ve been disqualified?
