Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Vanishing into the Void
The two days passed very quickly. Kaelen spent an extra day guiding the Bramble tribe on how to plant potatoes, reclaim more land, and build trellises in preparation for planting grapes.
The Crimson merchant caravan stayed at Bramble for one night, and early the next morning hurriedly bid them farewell, setting off for the Fang tribe.
The Bramble clan members were incredibly reluctant to part, especially Rowan.
This young Sub-Beast had practically become a loyal follower of Kaelen. The day the merchant caravan departed, Rowan clung to Kaelen’s legs, crying a river. Kaelen grabbed his waistband, trying his best but unable to pull his legs out no matter what. In the end, it was Sane who grabbed the back of Rowan’s shirt and lifted him up like a chicken, only then did the High Priest escape the scene of having his pants pulled down by a fan in front of everyone.
"Alright, everyone doesn’t need to see us off anymore, quickly go back to finish planting the potatoes. In a few days, about ten days, an agricultural production squad and a handicraft squad will come to help everyone."
After Kaelen finished speaking, holding his pants and running faster than a rabbit, in a flash he was sitting firmly on the ox cart. Sane, Aaron, and a few guards also bowed in farewell and quickly departed.
"Yah!"
The sound urging the oxen to move rang out; the Crimson merchant caravan officially set off, and in about half an hour had left the Bramble tribe’s territory. After traveling for another twenty minutes, the sound of sobbing suddenly came from the children’s nest in the back.
Kaelen and Sane simultaneously turned their heads, searching for the source of the crying. They only saw that Finnick and Oliver were both sitting up, still a bit groggy and not fully awake. But the two children were perfectly normal; the person crying was the usually carefree mouse cub, Ryder.
Sane hurriedly picked Ryder up, coaxing him softly: "What’s wrong, little one? Why are you crying like this?"
Ryder hiccuped aloud: "Vanished... vanished..."
Kaelen pulled Oliver and Finnick onto his lap, asking doubtfully: "What vanished?"

Finnick rubbed his eyes, saying: "I don’t know, when we were in the resonance space he suddenly said Papa was about to vanish, then right before we woke up, he just kept crying."
Kaelen was slightly stunned, secretly thinking perhaps the boy had a nightmare?
He hurriedly took the mouse cub, pressed the small body against his shoulder, and gently patted the boy’s back: "Good Ryder, I am still here. You see, I am still very healthy, still hugging you right here~"
The mouse cub choked back sobs: "No... not you... An existence... like you... vanished... vanished... Wahhh. Papa! I’m so scared!"
Ryder cried louder and louder, so much so that the whole group unconsciously stopped, turning their heads to look at the boy with full concern. Kaelen and Sane took turns coaxing Ryder; even Finnick, Oliver, and Chloe tried all sorts of tricks, gifting him the items they had hoarded, but Ryder just kept crying non-stop.
Sharing the same sorrowful atmosphere with Ryder, in the underground chamber beneath the Temple in the distant Beast City, Wofu was also suppressing a choked sob. One of the two people who had kept him company throughout this time had just vanished.
Not a physical death, but turning into fine dust, vanishing into the air, forever unable to enter reincarnation again.
The Snow Wolf clan beastman beside him seemed a bit calmer. The rims of his eyes were only slightly red, his lips pursed tightly. He had witnessed such vanishings far too many times; his already calloused heart now surged with an indescribable sorrow.
A kind-hearted Sub-Beast, who always properly fulfilled his duty as the God’s Messenger, simply vanished before finding a way out for this continent.
The Snow Wolf beastman was thinner than before, weaker than before, slowly raising his face with its deeply sunken eye sockets, tilting his head to look at the white tiger cub on the central altar. He said hoarsely:
"Conserve your strength, try to hold on until the end. Your bloodline is purer than ours; if you give up, that guy’s true body will immediately revive. That time will be the doomsday of the Beastman Continent."
Wofu hiccuped slightly, saying choked with emotion:
"I can’t do it. Every time I want to break the seal in my body, the spiritual energy is drained dry. Perhaps the next person to vanish will be me, not you."
The beastman shook his head, saying: "No, don’t be so pessimistic. We have no one left to rely on, but you are different; you still have hope." He paused, panting heavily for a while, before continuing: "Early this morning before that guy left, I saw the tail of that little snake cub slightly open its eyes."
Wofu took a deep breath, looking at the Snow Wolf beastman, and asked: "You mean the boy has regained consciousness?"
The Snow Wolf beastman coughed violently, coughing up a mouthful of blood, which was immediately absorbed by the stone floor beneath his feet. He forced himself to swallow the blood back down, saying hoarsely:
"That guy’s methods are extremely vicious; those struck by his charming technique all fall into a coma. But perhaps that snake cub’s body naturally generated an energy to resist the charming technique, which is why the boy showed signs of waking up halfway. Although he hasn’t completely woken up yet, I firmly believe that with just one or two more times, that Evil God’s charming technique will no longer have any effect on him."
Speaking such a long string of words, the beastman was also exhausted, but he forced out one more sentence:
"Now... we can only hope... your little friend... is smart enough..."
Wofu’s tiger claws curled slightly, affirming with certainty: "He is very smart, exactly like his two fathers!"
However, this time, no one answered Wofu anymore. The Snow Wolf beastman had fallen into a coma; his current state was exactly like the late Temple Lord’s. Wofu bitterly closed his eyes, desperately absorbing the surrounding spiritual energy, trying to shatter the barrier in his sea of consciousness.

As long as he could shatter it, he could enter the inheritance.
Right above the secret chamber, Edward was also lying on his bed in a daze. He kept feeling like he had gone somewhere, but couldn’t remember anything. Furthermore, Ryder’s sorrow near dawn made him even more anxious.
Could it be that something had happened to Papa?
His heart was in a tangled mess; he immediately skipped breakfast, entered the library, and turned everything upside down. All ordinary techniques; to normal beastmen, they might be considered precious, but to him, they were absolutely of no use whatsoever.
Edward irritably whipped his tail wildly at the pile of books he had thrown everywhere, a bold decision etching itself into his heart. He had to break into the living quarters of the High-level Beastmen and steal their cultivation techniques!
Edward’s irritable smashing behavior was quickly reported to the Temple Lord, who merely waved his hand and said:
"A child locked up for a long time being irritable is normal. Just let him vent his anger. Bring him a few more novel toys and that’s it."
After speaking, he stood up and stretched, lightly stomped his foot once, and vanished from the bedchamber. The next second, he appeared again in front of the towering ancient tree. The Temple Lord touched the tree trunk, smiling:
"A full meal yesterday temporarily stabilized the core. But later on, where am I supposed to find Wood-attribute Demigod bloodline again... The spiritual energy source I sensed a few times all vanished halfway; I didn’t even have time to investigate the specific direction. Tsk, truly troublesome."
The ancient tree’s foliage quivered slightly, as if answering.
The Temple Lord spoke again: "Not yet, wait until you finish absorbing the Divine Blood in that tiger, only then can you touch it. Right now, if you just touch it, who knows who will be the one devoured. Be a bit obedient."
The Temple Lord patted the tree trunk twice, and the ancient tree immediately fell silent, making no more sounds.
The person the Temple Lord missed day and night was currently busy coaxing his child, completely unaware that he had been spied upon.
Kaelen shuddered slightly, a chill rising from his spine straight to the top of his head, causing his face to turn pale in an instant. Sane anxiously hugged his mate, asking pressingly:
"What’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable somewhere?"
Kaelen originally intended to shake his head, then unconsciously recalled the hair-raising sensation just now, and said somewhat fearfully: "I keep feeling like I was being stared at by a vicious gaze..."
Sane’s pupils contracted, hugging his mate tighter. The mouse cub Ryder sniffled, crying softly:
"Papa, I don’t want you to vanish. Please don’t vanish..."
Even though he didn’t know if Ryder had a near-prophetic ability like Ian, it didn’t lessen the fear in Sane’s heart. He took a deep breath, grabbed Kaelen’s shoulders, forcing Kaelen to look straight at him: "Kaelen, you must return to the tribe immediately. I will have someone escort you back; you stay put in the tribe and don’t go anywhere!"
"What about you? What about our son?"
"I will still go to the Northern Continent to find our son." Sane rubbed Kaelen’s cheek, placing a kiss on his forehead: "You take Finnick and Oliver back first, I will take Ryder along with me. I will find a way to rescue our son..."

"No!" Kaelen decisively cut him off: "If we go, we go together; if we return, we return together! I don’t want to lose you too before even finding our son. If we have to die, we must die together!"
Oliver immediately used his chubby hands to cover Papa’s mouth, his face scrunching into a ball, his small mouth spitting saliva "phì phì". Finnick also said:
"Papa, don’t jinx it. You will be fine, and Daddy and us will be fine too!"
The Crimson clan members all gripped their weapons tightly, raising them above their heads: "Chief, High Priest, we swear to protect you to the death! Damn Beast City, damn Temple, we aren’t afraid of anyone!"
"Um... well... did I hear something I shouldn’t have..."
Everyone simultaneously snapped their heads toward the voice. The Fang tribe’s Chief immediately shrank back like a quail. Under the murderous gazes of the Crimson warriors, he broke out in a cold sweat, gulping as he said:
"I didn’t mean to eavesdrop... I just came to welcome you all, and seeing everyone suddenly stop by the road, I wanted to come up and ask. I didn’t expect everyone to be busy, so you didn’t notice me."
The young Chief scratched his nose, saying: "Well... in my tribe, there are also quite a few people who escaped from the Northern Continent, or know a bit about the Beast City and the Temple, perhaps they can help you..."
Half an hour later, the Fang tribe’s Chief and his warriors were sitting on the ox cart with miserable expressions, flanked on each side by a Crimson tribe warrior.
The Fang tribe warriors looked resentfully at their Chief’s back, wishing they could go back to half an hour ago, knock the Chief out, and carry him away.
They had clearly exhausted their words advising against it, why didn’t he listen?!
This time, they didn’t know if they would survive the disaster or become plant fertilizer. Boohoo!
