Chapter 93: 160 (4)

"Scales, hold down Acro’s wrist and ankle." I commanded, and black thick shackles appeared around where I ordered for them to go.

As the water entered Acro’s mouth, he began convulsing.

Holding Acro down by the shoulder, Alleus held him down by the stomach.

"I need to hurry this up." Vertere whispered.

"So what’s wrong with Acro?" Alleus asked with a worried face.

"Something must have gotten into his lungs, if It isn’t cleared now then it will slip into his blood and his vein will get blocked." Vertere then closed his eyes, "Now, don’t bother me any longer because I’ll need to concentrate on the flow of mana."

Nodding, I pinched my mouth together.

He must be using his mana sense skill and mana control, but even with his experience as a mage, it’s mainly combat experience.

Any medical stuff other than the stuff he took notes on about casting a healing barrier is foreign to him.

A single mistake could leave acro with permenent damage or maybe even death in the worst case senario.

Vertere’s face grew ever more serious as every second passed.

Jolting, Acro started to shake his head.

Grabbing him by the jaw and the top of his temple, I stopped him from shaking.

Thing’s don’t seem to be going so well... come on Vertere if anyone can do this then it’s you.

The water mage who has comprehended the light.

The gentle flow of water then paused, and Vertere slowly began making the water flow out of his mouth, dropping it off into the side.

Looking at the water, there was small specs of dirt in them.

Alleus was correct with her worry that dirt gotten into his lungs, I’m just glad that it didn’t happen to me or anyone else out of all of us.

Soon, all of the water that had flowed into Acro’s mouth had been put away.

Opening his eyes, Vertere wiped the sweat off of his face.

"I’m not done yet, there’s still the process of healing his lungs from the damage done from the water I forced into his lungs." Vertere placed his wand over Acro’s chest, "Healing light..!"

A healing barrier had appeared in Acro’s upper body, starting from his upper abdomen.

"How come you aren’t healing his whole body?" Alleus asked.

"If I concentrated the area of effect of the healing area, then I can minimize the expense of mana and maximize the effects of healing." Vertere then concentrated his eyes on Acro, "I cleaned one lung before moving onto another but the side effects of having limited air circulating through his respiratory system could have damaged his mind, which is why I’m not just healing his lungs but also his brain."

Vertere paused for a moment, before continuing:

"But for now, shut up for me and stay quite."

As Vertere continued healing Acro, I couldn’t see if his condition was actually improving or not because it was all internal.

But Vertere’s expression seemed to be filled with gladness.

If I had a skill like mana sense then I would be able to know what’s going on but mana isn’t something I’m good with.

"His lungs have finished healing." Vertere then lessened the size of the healing barrier and shifted it’s size to only heal Acro’s head.

After a brief pause, Vertere continued:

"The brain is a very intricate thing to heal, the healers from when Jansoara told me that the side effects of healing include a slight loss of memory and at the worst case scenario, his mental state could revert back to a toddler’s... so I have the strategy is to not fully heal the brain but stop right at the point before it does so."

Nodding, Alleus and I stopped asking questions as Vertere continued healing Acro.

Soon, he dispersed the healing barrier.

"It’s finished, now we just have to leave it to him to bearing through it. This battle is something that only he can fight." Vertere sighed, before summoning water to hydrate himself.

Taking off her pouch, Alleus had placed it under Acro’s head, serving as a pillow.

"Scales, come back to me." I ordered, the shackles made of dragon scales went back into the cloak.

Laying back down, I looked up at the crimson sky as the supreme brute demon and Queen Evecles with her water serpent fought.

Queen Evecles unleashed a blast of water through the serpent’s mouth, pushing the supreme demon brute back.

Because of his incredible mass, the supreme demon didnt bother blocking but instead through a punch which slowly accelerated in the air.

Whipping the water serpent’s tail, the both of them clashed and a gush of wind blew out in all direction, the impact was so strong that I have to readjust my position just so that I wouldn’t fall off the castle wall.

Grabbing Acro by the leg who was about to roll off the castle wall, I pulled him towards me.

"That was a close one." I scoffed, "Stick close to me."

"Scales, latch us all together and claw into the castle wall, prevent us from flying away." The dragon scales armor then wrapped around everyone before latching deep into the surface of the castle wall.

"Scales, give all of us except Incus breathing mask."

It’s never a bad thing to be extra careful, and have another incident such as this is something that should only happen once.

If this was to occur to someone during the midst of battle then they would have to be left in combat... sure we could carry them and heal them later but the events in this novel is very unpredictable.

Continuing to watch the battle, I was on the edge of my seat.

Because this is the first time or might be the only time I’ll get to watch an immortal battle.

I suspected that her battle strength was lower compared to everyone else’s but this is just an amazing spectacle.

With the two ends of my lips curling up, I concentrated on their battle.
