Chapter 88: 159 (2)
Thrusting multiple of it’s arms at me, I was sent flying back.
Surprisingly, I didn’t feel a thing.
Looking down, the force armor had expanded into a full set of armor, except for a helmet.
’The time you have has been decreased to three minutes, a full set armor consumes pent up rage at a much higher rate so you must end this as soon as possible!’ The force armor shouted with wariness.
"Don’t worry about that, I needed to end this soon enough anyways." Standing up, I couldn’t help but notice something in my perifular vision.
An army of multiple towering demons were marching towards the camp... the entire base camp was completely surrounded by them.
Furthermore, Alleus and Vertere were slowly running towards my way with Ita being carried on Alleus’ back.
I need to kill these demons before they come near here, even with their support I don’t know their current situation, they might’ve been caught in a dire situation so they ran away.
"What’s with that blank face, has it finally dawned on you that you’ll die today!" The skin demon laughed, leaping at me as if it was a fish jumping up and diving down into water.
"Excaliburn!" Swinging blade horizontally, I expanded my mana then quickly compressing it, "Wind blade."
"Argh!" Being pushed back the skin demon got caught on fire.
It doesn’t have an exoskeleton so the demon is highly flammable.
With a wide grin across my face, revealing a set of teeth that had mud and moist blood.
Leaping at the skin demon, I released a relentless barrage of sword slashes.
Writhing in pain the skin demon began begging for help.
"Please I yield, stop this now!" The skin demon reverted back to the flat blob it once was, "Damn it spider demon, hurry up and help me!"
Screetching, the Spider demon had pushed through the dragon scales.
"Scales—!" Before I could fully form a sentence, multiple legs shot at me in jagged lines.
"Helmet!" I shouted, as the force armor expanded to protect my head.
Raising my arms to block in a boxed stance, I absorbed the attacks of the spider demon.
Just like earlier, I didn’t feel a thing.
This force armor is really overpowered, if I only knew of this earlier then I would have been able to protect Lieur and Ulna from dying.
...No, now isn’t the time of dwelling and beating myself up over the past.
Lowering my guard, the attacks had stopped.
Taking the chance, I jumped forward at the spider demon.
"Scales, block anything that comes near me." Swirling around me, the dragon scales became my shield.
Screeching, the spider demon changed the trajectory of it’s legs to aim at me.
But it was too late, my sword had pierced through the bastard’s chest.
"Excaliburn!" Because I didn’t swing the sword, the flame exploded.
Being blown away by the impact, I landed back down to the ground.
I couldnt exactly say the same thing for the spider demon because multiple chunks of it was landing on the ground.
"Nooo!" The skin demon shouted in agony as it began melting.
Retracting back to it’s original form, the force armor turned back into a simple chest piece.
’You’ve finished the battle with just thirty seconds left to spar, it seems that the battle won’t end any time soon so use the full body suit wisely.’ The force armor then grew quite.
"Ring!" Alleus shouted seemingly out of breath, "Thank goodness you’re okay."
"Scales, compass to Incus." Forming an arrow in front of me, I followed the arrow, "Come, and explain the current situation."
"We ran around looking for you, we thought that you had died." Said Alleus, "That was until we saw the arcs of flames shooting around in the air, and since Incus was battling the giant demons we knew that it was you... why did you use Excaliburn, you could’ve put the people in danger."
"I’ve evacuated most of them to a safe place and if a tent did catch on fire, the people inside of them had enough time on their hands to run away, but it looks like I’ve evacuated everyone in this area so it was fine." I nodded, gesturing for them to continue.
"Things, have gotten dire..." Vertere winced, "Incus and the army is currently on a stalemate against the army of giants, so for the demons that got through the cracks didn’t have much people to aid in killing them."
Looking down at Ita, I patted her head before shifting my attention back to Alleus and Vertere.
Just as I took another step, my body collapsed harshly into the ground.
Damn it... I the adrenaline wore off.
"Ring!" Alleus shouted, the sound of her voice growing weaker as my vision grew dim:
"Ring..!"
"...Ring..."
....
...
...
Waking up, I tried sitting up but was quickly shouted at.
"Don’t move!" Vertere and the young timid man who healed Incus shouted.
Looking around, everyone’s worried face of everyone that I had saved had a slight tint of yellow bright mana over them.
"They’re healing your wounds right now, so focus on resting up." Alleus said, her face full of worry.
"Thank you for saving us, Acro had told us that this tent is a safe place where the demons won’t attack, at first we were skeptical but its because of you we were able to live another day." Said an old woman, clasping her hands together.
After taking a closer look at her, she was the grandma who was from that family with the angry father.
"Don’t worry, anyone would have done the same." I chuckled in pain.
"Shut up and stop talking so much you..." Vertere leaned in closer and whispered:
"...Rotten bastard..."
"You’ve grown a lot Ring, back then you didn’t care about the lives of others but now you do." Alleus then smiled, her beauty illuminated by the hole made in the top of the tent by the spider demon, "I’m really proud of you."
"You’re a hero..!" Said a voice in the back.
