Chapter 988: Chapter 454: Everyone Should Change Their Profile Picture When They Get Into a Relationship
Wu Min was cleaning the trash with great effort.
Lin Li, being the biggest piece of trash, found the cleaning rather painful.
However, Lin Li soon remembered that he was an invincible Cultivator, so he simply used his "Hardening" technique, and instantly it didn’t hurt anymore.
Perhaps, that’s the true meaning of Cultivation.
"Mom, I think the old-fashioned feather duster should be retired. It doesn’t belong in our home. We should get a robot vacuum instead."
Once Wu Min got tired from cleaning, Lin Li laughed while stroking the feathers of the duster.
Even though Lin Li had money, he really hadn’t bought any robot vacuum.
After all, robot vacuums are like standard M models; they crawl on the floor, can release water, and then lick up their own spills.
But Lin Li didn’t have that kind of XP, so he didn’t like them and didn’t want such obscene machines to sully his home.
Too vulgar.
But now, if something could replace the feather duster, perhaps it wouldn’t be unacceptable.
Hearing this, Wu Min hesitated: "That... would it hurt if I hit you with it?"
Speaking of which, Wu Min made a swinging motion with both hands as if wielding a pie-shaped robot, then added, "And I’d still get tired from hitting. Ugh, forget it."
Lin Li: "(๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧"
A mother is like her son.
So, the first consideration after getting a robot vacuum is whether it’s convenient to hit her son with it! Brilliant!
But seeing that Wu Min really started helping clean his room, Lin Li just lazily lay on the bed, propping his chin up and curiously asked, "So mom, what kind of party is Aunt Xu throwing tomorrow?"
"A housewarming party."
"What kind of party is that?" Lin Li was slightly puzzled.
"When she bought her house before, she had a moving-in party. Now that the renovations are done, she’s planning another one." Speaking of this, Wu Min clearly didn’t have much good to say, annoyingly continued, "I reckon she’ll have another housewarming party after living there for half a year."
Lin Li shrugged.
Another one of those meaningless parties aside from weddings and funerals.
These days, there certainly are a lot of reasons to throw a party: birthdays, schooling advancements, baby month celebrations, first birthdays, bringing luck, being discharged from the hospital, and so on.
But most are truly unnecessary.
According to their logic, Lin Li would have to throw a party every day—
After all, even moving up from primary to middle school was a reason for a party in their eyes, and Lin Li was coincidentally making that transition daily, wouldn’t he be throwing parties every day?
"I see, then we’re not going, right?" So Lin Li agreed with Wu Min’s choice.
"Definitely not going. I just want to lay around at home tomorrow," Wu Min nodded but then remembered something and added to Lin Li, "But Lin Li, on the first, your cousin is getting engaged, and that is a must-attend event. Can you go that day? In the evening, do you need to ask for leave?"
"I can go. Asking for leave is simple." Lin Li nodded.
Though there’s no adjustment in schedule, and there’s evening class at Nansang Middle School on New Year’s Day.
But if Xue Jian knew he was taking a leave just to attend a banquet and not for some anti-vice campaign or something, Lin Li believed he’d not only not refuse, he’d be delighted.
"By the way, where’s your driver’s license?"
It shows that Lin Li didn’t live a messy life usually. His room seemed clean, and Wu Min, after a short while, switched to asking about the driver’s license.
Though he didn’t come home often, Wu Min still had a fixed calling time every week to stay informed about Lin Li’s situation.
"Here it is." Lin Li wiggled over to the bedside table, rummaged around, and handed Wu Min the driver’s license he got someone to fetch for him on Monday.
"Tsk tsk," looking at the genuine driver’s license, Wu Min shook her head with some emotion, "You really got it."
"My coach said with my driving skills, it’d be best for the family to buy me a road, mom, what do you think..."
"Your mom can’t bear to look," Wu Min replied with mock disgust, then turned to Lin Li with a bit of teasing, "Lin Li, aren’t you going out with Yu Ying tomorrow? Why not take the family car?"
"Next time, there’s not much traveling tomorrow, driving would be a hassle."
Tomorrow night is just a simple outing with friends, nothing too grand, so Lin Li waved it off but took the opportunity to ask since Wu Min brought it up:
"But mom, do we have a spare car key? If yes, give me one. If not, leave yours with me first. You can report to borrow it when you need the car."
"You, you," Wu Min, who was less than pleased, walked over and gave Lin Li a couple of flicks on the forehead, "Can’t let it go to your head, you start taking people for granted right away."
Today he dared to ask her to borrow the car key, tomorrow he’d be saying, "Wu, go park the car for me."
"Hehe." Lin Li only acted up to receive this little flick.
"There is a spare key, it’s no problem leaving it with you. I’ll give it to you after dinner, but since you just got your license, you must put a ’Practice’ sticker on the back before you drive out, don’t forget that."
Seeing Lin Li’s ingratiating smile, Wu Min’s feigned anger naturally dissipated, but she still reminded him.
"I’ve already got it."
However, Lin Li had already prepared. He smiled softly, reached into his pocket, and indeed pulled out a yellow sticker with red lettering.
Wu Min: "Looks like you really were early—"
"..."
Wu Min went silent.
This wasn’t a ’Practice’ sticker.
This damn thing said ’Strength’.
Suddenly she wasn’t too sure about leaving the car with Lin Li, if Lin Li met with an accident, he could heal himself, but if the car was gone, it was truly gone.
