Chapter 973: Chapter 449: Ultimate Nepotism in Werewolf Game

Tuesday, Christmas Eve.

A little after five in the afternoon, before evening self-study.

"When phlegm is in your throat, it’s continuous, which reflects the continuity of material motion. Once you spit it out, it becomes a ’point’ with definite mass, energy, and momentum, which reflects the discreteness of material motion.

And the fact that it can simultaneously display wave-like and particle-like behavior may prove that... old phlegm has wave–particle duality.

I feel like I’ve discovered something earth-shattering. So quantum mechanics is actually closely related to our daily lives..."

Bai Bufan and Lin Li were leaning against the railing in the corridor, watching a teacher downstairs spit into a trash can. Bai Bufan muttered as his expression shifted over and over, then he finally couldn’t help looking at Lin Li:

"Lin Li, I might be about to win the Nobel Prize..."

Lin Li chuckled.

Li Bai could spit half a flourishing Great Tang from his poetic mouth, and Bufan was even more badass than Li Bai—one bark from his dog mouth and you get the entire Great Tang.

With Bai Bufan’s merits, at the very least Nobel himself would have to come hand him the prize.

"Bufan, if you really have that much phlegm, I suggest you eat lemons. They help relieve phlegm buildup. We call this effect ’food-induced reduction of viscous phlegm’. Oh, and make sure it’s domestic lemons. The ones from Japan don’t work," Lin Li said with a smile.

"Such an ancient meme, but that day’s spitting, spit it all out~" The dead memes began to attack Bai Bufan’s mind. His mouth was full of disdain, but his body was very honest.

He felt that Lin Li’s discovery was also pretty shocking. His own Nobel Prize suddenly seemed a bit shaky.

Before the two could continue elegantly discussing phlegm, Chen Yu Ying and Ding Sihan’s voices drifted over from the stairwell.

Lin Li turned his head, and sure enough, accompanying the voices was the appearance of the "three of them."

"Go deliver your apple, I’m gonna go pee."

Bai Bufan snapped his fingers and strolled leisurely toward the restroom.

"Monitor," at this point Lin Li couldn’t really talk about being shy anymore. He waved openly at Chen Yu Ying and then stepped forward to strike up a conversation: "Do you know what Christmas Eve means?"

"It means tomorrow is Christmas?" Chen Yu Ying tilted her head slightly, smiling as she countered.

"It means someone’s gonna give you an apple," Ding Sihan and Qu Wanqiu teased with a laugh. "You obviously know but pretend you don’t say it out loud—is that the little couple’s special flavor of fun?"

Lin Li: "You’re both wrong. It means the witch used the antidote or the guard successfully blocked the kill. Of course, there’s also the possibility that it’s a room where empty kills are allowed, and the werewolves, in order to confuse everyone that night, chose to swing at thin air."

Chen Yu Ying, Ding Sihan, Qu Wanqiu: "..."

So this is that kind of Christmas Eve?

However, Chen Yu Ying felt that Jesus was probably really good at Werewolf.

After all, even if he covered his eyes with his hands, his vision wouldn’t be limited at all; whether you were a villager or a werewolf making night moves, nothing could escape him. Plus, the moderator is God—his old man—he’s literally a nepotism hire, so of course God would indulge him.

Chen Yu Ying: ">︵<!"

Eh eh eh.

What on earth was she thinking! Why did her subconscious jump straight to that...

Hmm...

Chen Yu Ying carefully replayed it in her head: tomorrow is Christmas, normal people would think of Jesus. Lin Li mentioned Christmas Eve in Werewolf, normal people would think of the nighttime mechanics of the game. Mhm mhm, so her having this association was totally normal!

Not her fault.

If something has to be "not normal," then blame Jesus and Lin Li!

Lin Li did notice that Chen Yu Ying’s face was a bit flushed at the moment, but he just assumed it was because of Ding Sihan and Qu Wanqiu’s teasing. He had no idea her life might already be ruined forever.

Over the Old Chen Family ancestral grave, the smoke that rose was even greener now, but for some reason that green had a faint hint of black in it.

Seeing that Chen Yu Ying lowered her head without speaking, while Ding Sihan and Qu Wanqiu rolled their eyes at him, Lin Li laughed and walked into the classroom:

"Okay, Dingzi and Jiujiu are right. It does also mean I’m going to give you an apple."

Back at his seat, he took a gift box out of the drawer, then walked to the front row and set it on Chen Yu Ying’s desk—she had already returned to the classroom as well.

"Didn’t I say you don’t have to? But this apple... doesn’t look like a real fruit?"

Through the transparent window on the front of the box, noticing that the "apple" inside had a size, sheen, and texture that all seemed off, Chen Yu Ying asked curiously.

"Yeah, it’s a dessert cake. I pre-ordered it, but it was just finished, so I went out this afternoon to pick it up," Lin Li nodded with a smile. "You just ate dinner, you definitely can’t eat much now. Take it back to the dorm tonight and have it there."

"Okay," Chen Yu Ying didn’t stand on ceremony; she nodded with a smile. "Thanks~"

"Tsk tsk tsk—" Qu Wanqiu and Ding Sihan stood to the side, pretending they couldn’t bear to look as they frowned and shook their heads, their eyes full of teasing laughter. "It’s not even an ordinary apple~ oh my, oh my~"

"Alright, knock it off. I got some for you two as well."

Finding their completely expected reaction a bit funny, Lin Li turned back toward his seat:

"I’ll go grab them for you."

"Relax, Dingzi, Jiujiu. You two are at least my closest female friends; how could I let you have no apple cake to eat on Christmas Eve and lose face like that?"

Ding Sihan OVO: "Good kid, you didn’t let down all the poop and pee I fed you with when you were little. So filial."

Qu Wanqiu OVO: "Lin Li, honestly, back when I first came into Class 4 in Grade 1, I already felt like you and Yu Ying were a match made in heaven."

Hearing that they actually had a share too, Ding Sihan and Qu Wanqiu immediately switched faces, looking at Lin Li with fawning flattery, eyes filled with a little hopeful expectation.
