Chapter 157: Chapter 95: Hand of the Church Court

The Void Technique Space is actually a Spiritual World created by imitating the Consciousness Riverbed.

Back then, Blake studied the Consciousness Riverbed day and night. Besides the Void Technique Space, he also made progress on the Path of Divinity.

However, that was something for after Tier Ten, which was far too distant for them now. How to break through Tier Seven was an unsolvable problem, let alone Tier Ten.

Right now, Sean was only concerned about one thing—

"If the New World is the Consciousness Riverbed, formed from the consciousness of all living beings and not dependent on us as individuals, doesn’t that mean everything it manifests should be extremely similar to the Real World?"

In other words, it was another Real World on the level of spirit and soul.

"You could say that," Sopea said, nodding.

Since all the consciousnesses came from the Real World, its appearance was naturally similar.

"That makes things easier," Sean said. "As long as we determine Kovri City’s location in the New World, we can find the real Kovri."

Elvire’s eyes lit up. ’Her idea was right after all!’

"The logic is sound, but where are we supposed to find Kovri?" Kate asked.

They didn’t know Kovri’s location in the real world, so it was no different in the New World, was it?

Sean: "..."

’It’s hopeless. This Light Attendant doesn’t seem too bright.’

He gave Kate a strange look, as if staring at an idiot, and said, "This *is* Kovri. You didn’t know?"

To help Kate understand, Sean even pointed at the ground beneath his feet, indicating that "here" meant the city.

Kate’s eyes widened. "This is Kovri??"

Sopea was also astonished. "Is that true?"

"What else could it be?" Sean beckoned. "Come on. I’ll show you, and then you’ll understand."

Elvire glanced at Klintor and his soldiers, who were sleeping soundly in the room, and asked, "What do we do with them?"

"Just leave them here for now. They’ve got hands and feet; they won’t starve to death," Sean said.

At the moment, it didn’t seem like there was any deep-seated hatred between them—not enough to warrant killing anyone.

Klintor thought he had been brainwashed by the Hall of Truth, and likewise, Sean believed Klintor had been brainwashed by the Church Court. One of them had to be wrong.

Besides, Klintor was a noble who had been granted the title of Knight, making him an insider within the Church Court’s system. Keeping him alive could be useful later. It would also make it all the more satisfying when the day came for Sean to "clear his name." He would rub it right in this guy’s face and make this so-called Knight open his eyes wide and see who was truly mired in sin.

"Let’s go." Sean pushed the door open and walked out.

The group left the basement and headed for the Holy Sanctuary.

It seemed that this was the only squad of soldiers patrolling the Kovri Ruins today. They didn’t run into anyone else along the way. Sean remembered the path and soon led Sopea and Kate to the ruins of the Holy Sanctuary where he and Elvire had "been born."

The sight of broken walls and rubble everywhere stung Sopea’s eyes.

The moment he stepped into the Holy Sanctuary, his breathing became heavy.

If Sean hadn’t told him, and if he hadn’t seen with his own eyes the Holy Sanctuary’s stone tablet in the desolate, dried-up fountain, along with the statue whose features were blurred, Sopea would never have believed that the Hall of Truth—once considered a Holy Land by all Wizards—could have fallen into such a state.

He walked up to the collapsed library.

Looking at the fragmented books scattered on the ground, covered in filth and dust, Sopea felt a sharp pang in his heart.

This place was once his home.

An image surfaced in his mind of himself peacefully reading in the library in days past.

He remembered other students, as quiet and diligent as he was.

The library had the most studious atmosphere in the entire Holy Sanctuary. Everyone strove to enter the higher levels and become a Grand Mage. They would skip meals and sleep, burning the midnight oil, immersing themselves in an ocean of knowledge, filled with aspirations and ambitions for their lives.

Until a pair of great hands suddenly reached down from the sky and tore this beautiful, peaceful scene in two.

Everything shattered like a mirror struck by a heavy blow. These fragmented mirror shards, carrying fragmented memories, transformed into beams of light that flooded into Sopea’s mind, forever remaining in the depths of his soul.

Now that he was back in the Hall of Truth, Sopea’s memories returned.

Not completely, but enough for him to guess what had happened all these years.

At the same time, Kate, whose memories also seemed to be partially reawakening, shouted in anger.

"Who the fuck did this?!"

’And don’t give me that crap about a natural disaster.’

’The Hall of Truth was full of Grand Mages. What kind of natural disaster could possibly destroy a Holy Sanctuary they were guarding?’

’And even if there *was* some unstoppable cataclysm, why was only the Hall of Truth destroyed? Why only Kovri?’

’The highway right next to it is completely fine!’

’This absolutely wasn’t a natural disaster. It was man-made!’

"The Church Court."

Sopea spoke, his voice tight with suppressed rage.

Sean seemed to understand something. "Your memories are back?"

Sopea nodded. "Some of them have returned."

These memories contained no details or clues about who destroyed the Holy Sanctuary—only a pair of hands.

But logic told him it had to be the Church Court. It could *only* be the Church Court.

As the true masters of the Empire, only they had the power to contend with the Hall of Truth at that time.

The pair of hands that reached down from the sky most likely belonged to the Pope.

"The Pope?"

Sean’s eyes narrowed. "Couldn’t even Lord Blake defeat him?"

"No, the Pope is absolutely no match for Lord Blake." Sopea stated with conviction.

The Pope was merely Tier Ten, whereas Lord Blake had already surpassed Tier Ten and embarked upon the Path of Divinity. He wasn’t just boasting; even if every single Tier Ten Grand Mage from the Church Court had been present, they likely couldn’t have laid a finger on the Hall of Truth.
