Chapter 147: Chapter 90: Forbidden Zone
"Why are you so fixated on feet!"
"Well, it’s not like you’d let me be interested in any other parts..."
"???"
"Ahem."
Sean cleared his throat and said, "What I mean is, the ’autophagy’ part might be referring to ourselves."
Just as he had eaten the cactus in the desert, Elvire was now his cactus.
Elvire had far more experience with Meditation than Sean, so she knew it was a definite possibility.
But!
She was a girl, after all. How could she just let someone take a bite out of her?
"If there’s any biting to be done, I’ll be the one biting you," Elvire said.
Sean: "Oh? You want to bite my feet?"
"You should’ve just said so."
He immediately lifted his foot, making a move to take off his shoe.
Elvire: "???"
"No, wait!"
"I’m talking about your hand!"
’Who would want to bite this guy’s stinky feet? It’s not like I’m a pervert!’
"Oh, a hand," Sean nodded. "That works too."
He nonchalantly rolled up his sleeve and stuck his pale, tender-looking arm right in front of Elvire. "Go on. Don’t spare me."
Elvire: "...?"
Because he rarely went outside—spending 360 of 365 days a year cooped up at home—Sean hardly ever saw the sun. As a result, his skin was very pale. Even Elvire, a girl, had to admit he looked rather tender and delicious. ’He probably wouldn’t even get stuck in my teeth.’
’But whether he’d get stuck in her teeth or not, why wasn’t he hesitating at all?’
He just offered it up without a second thought.
"Aren’t you afraid of the pain?" Elvire asked, confused.
Sean put on a sincere expression. "It’s okay. We’re in the Meditation World, so it’s not like I’ll actually lose a limb. A little pain is nothing. As long as it makes you happy, I’m fine with anything. What’s one arm?"
Elvire: "..."
’What’s with this cloying act?’
Normally, she’d stay far away from someone like Sean—she hated guys who played these games the most. But when she was the one being served this "tea," she suddenly found it wasn’t entirely unpleasant.
"Don’t say I didn’t warn you," Elvire said, looking at Sean seriously. "I’m very strong."
"We’ll have to see after you bite," Sean said, unafraid. ’She’s just a delicate girl,’ he thought. ’How strong could she possibly be? As long as she doesn’t use Magic Power, it should be fine.’
However, in the very next second, Elvire showed Sean just what she was capable of.
’She’d been wanting to bite this guy for ages!’
Elvire grabbed Sean’s arm, brought it to her lips, opened her delicate mouth, and bit down hard!
"Hss—!" Sean sucked in a sharp breath.
"Ow, ow, ow!"
"It’s gonna break! It’s gonna break!"
A second later, Elvire let go. A neat row of teeth marks was imprinted on Sean’s arm, with tiny, dark red beads of blood oozing from the wound.
"You told me to," Elvire said, her small tongue darting out to lick the blood from her lips. ’Why is his blood sweet?’ she thought. ’Not metallic at all. How strange...’
Sean, meanwhile, was grimacing, his face contorted in pain. Still, he powered through it and asked, "How did it feel?"
Elvire shook her head. "I didn’t feel anything."
Clearly, that wasn’t the right method.
High-tier Wizards have a keen perception of Magic Power. If this paired Meditation required them to bite one another, she should have felt a surge of Magic Power the moment any part of Sean’s body—like his blood—entered hers. Since she felt nothing, the method had to be wrong.
"Of course I know it wasn’t right."
’I’m a Tier Three Wizard, not some rookie just starting out in Mysticism. And this is a brand new version of the paired Meditation. How could it possibly be that simple? I proposed that idea on purpose.’
"My question was, have you let off some steam?" he asked.
Elvire was stunned. "What do you mean?"
"You think I’m always picking on you, right? And you’re mad at me for it," Sean said with a wink. "I was giving you a chance to get your revenge."
’If I had just asked Elvire to hit me, she definitely wouldn’t have done it. After all, she was a proud girl who didn’t see herself as a childish brat. She wouldn’t do something so petty. She’d just bottle it all up. So I had to find a reasonable excuse—or at least, one that seemed reasonable on the surface.’
Elvire: "..."
Winking is supposed to be a charming gesture, but since Sean couldn’t quite control his facial muscles due to the pain, it just looked bizarre.
’So he let me bite him on purpose, just so I could let off some steam?’
’I have to admit, it was very effective.’
Elvire fell silent. She never expected Sean to be so considerate. He had managed to protect her pride while giving her an outlet for her frustrations. A pang of guilt struck her. She really had bitten him harder than necessary just to get "revenge." She always insisted she wasn’t one for petty tantrums, yet here she was, settling a personal score under a plausible pretext...
Elvire looked at the bite mark she’d left on Sean’s arm, her eyes filling with concern. "Does it hurt a lot?" she asked.
"It’s bearable," Sean said through the pain. "Just go a little easier next time."
Elvire: "Don’t move. I’ll heal it for you."
She took Sean’s arm with her left hand. A soft glow of Holy Light bloomed in her right palm, and she gently swept it over the wound.
Sean instantly felt a sacred, cooling sensation wash over him—like a Nun in a swimsuit. Most of the pain vanished. He exclaimed in surprise, "You know Holy Light Magic?"
With just a single touch from her, the wound on his arm healed without a scar, leaving only a faint red mark. It was impossible to tell that blood had been oozing from it just moments ago.
"A little," Elvire replied. "I can only heal minor injuries."
That was just how High-tier Wizards were. They learned a little of every type of Magic so they could handle things on their own without needing to ask for help over every trivial matter. But for more serious problems, they were out of their depth. For instance, when Sean had been injured at Holkaydo Hospital, she had been powerless to help, able to do nothing more than carry him back to Alola Town as fast as she could.
