Chapter 130: Chapter 83: Confession
Sean’s audacity was, without a doubt, far beyond Sabeck’s expectations.
He had already held Sean in high regard. Daring to come to New Eldo proved Sean had real guts, but he never thought those guts were *this* big—brazenly robbing a bank in broad daylight...
And not only that, Sean’s performance was quite professional.
The moment he drew his gun, he used some sort of Stocking Magic to cover his head.
Through the hazy black silk woven from Magic Power, the handsome contours of Sean’s face were faintly visible, but his true features were obscured. It was like looking at the statues outside the Hall of Truth—a kind of blurry beauty.
The same went for Elvire.
The two of them quickly got the situation under control. After all, they were armed, and the bank was full of wealthy people who valued their lives. After a brief moment of panic, they forced themselves to calm down and obediently shuffled to the corner as the young female robber instructed.
No one was willing to test whether Sean and Elvire would actually treat them to a bullet.
Cherish life, stay away from gambling.
It was actually a very standard robbery, the kind you see in movies. But Sabeck knew all too well that watching someone do this sort of thing was one thing, and doing it yourself was another entirely.
Take killing, for example.
The first time he hunted a Wizard, he thought he could be cold-blooded about it—that killing was just a matter of firing a few shots. But when it came down to it, he had to struggle to convince himself to finish off the poor, defenseless target. He even missed a few shots, failing to hit any vital spots and causing the target to die in agony.

Sabeck remembered the incident vividly to this day. Recalling it now, the target’s face, contorted in pain, was still fresh in his mind. He had always felt deeply guilty about it. If he could do it over, he would definitely go for a headshot to give them a quick death.
It wasn’t that his marksmanship was bad back then. It was just the unavoidable nerves of a first-timer. The simplest actions and words become distorted by tension in the heat of the moment.
But Sean and Elvire were as steady as two career criminals. It made Sabeck wonder if there was something wrong with them. ’Why are they so damn skilled at this?’
It was then that he finally understood why Sean had gone out of his way to buy a city map, and why he’d been dragging around a huge, empty suitcase...
After all this, it was to fucking fill it with money!
’This guy planned it all from the start!’
And the most crucial point—
Sean had waited in line for a long time.
He’d waited for hours, from noon until the afternoon.
’You’re here to rob a bank, so what the hell are you waiting in line for?!’
Sabeck screamed internally.
Of course, he didn’t understand. This was called being polite.

Even while robbing a bank, Sean Black wished to maintain his proper elegance and style.
On the other hand, he was also waiting for the armored truck.
If you’re going to rob, you might as well rob big.
Sabeck had another question as well.
Elvire’s title, "Flame Crow," was well-known in Witch Hunter circles. Her striking looks were only part of the reason; it was mostly due to the young woman’s kindness.
The Dawn Conference action team, led by Flame Crow, had saved countless Junior Wizards. As a result, her "bounty" in their circles kept rising. The last time Sabeck checked, the girl’s head was already worth several million, and if she pulled off something else, it would probably break ten million.
All of this was why Sabeck was here today.
He just never imagined that this beautiful, kind-hearted girl would one day be doing something so bad. This was completely different from the Flame Crow he knew. He really wanted to know how Sean had convinced Elvire to join him in his dirty work.
Or could it be that her so-called kindness had always been just a facade?
Unfortunately, no one was there to answer him.
Sean was busy right now.
Seeing that Elvire had the hostages under control, he picked up the suitcase, opened it, and politely said to the terrified, trembling teller behind the counter, "Please put all the money in here. Thank you."
As he spoke, he deliberately waggled the weapon in his hand.

The teller hastily agreed, "O-Okay, I’ll get it for you. Please, just don’t shoot..."
Politeness is a two-way street. Since Sean was being so polite, she had to be polite in return.
To work at a bank in New Elderidge, one had to undergo professional training. Even though the city’s surface-level crime rate had long been zero, employees still had to memorize emergency procedures for all sorts of situations, including how to handle a robbery.
The manager himself had personally taught the relevant training course. So, as she turned to get the money, with her back to Sean, she secretly glanced at her manager, asking with her eyes if she should really give the money to the robbers. She remembered that she was supposed to pretend to agree while secretly calling for help...
But who would have known that the manager was standing ramrod straight with his hands raised in surrender, nodding frantically at her.
Training was training, but reality was reality.
Didn’t you see they had a real weapon?
’For the pittance they pay us a month, is it really worth risking our lives?’
Especially when he realized that despite his excellent eyesight, he couldn’t see the two robbers’ faces clearly at all. He knew then that they weren’t ordinary robbers. They were not someone mere mortals like them could deal with. Obedience was the best option.
Besides, it wasn’t their money being stolen, nor was it the customers’ money. In the end, the Florist Family would cover all the losses. As employees, the worst that could happen was getting fired. Compared to losing his life, the manager was more than willing to lose his job.
However, the guards in charge of the bank’s security outside knew none of this.
Pistols raised, they had already crept silently to the entrance. As it happened, both robbers had their backs to them at that very moment.
