Chapter 264: Chapter 264: Clash of the Titans
Right at the epicenter of the chaotic battlefield, the high-ranking commanders of both factions clashed tearing the environment apart. The firefight here no longer looked like a standard urban skirmish; it resembled a high-budget science fiction film. Heavy, customized rifles similar to the specialized weaponry Marcus utilized—discharged high-frequency volleys that sliced through concrete barriers, steel beams, and armored vehicles as if they were nothing but paper. The barrels of the weapons glowed a menacing, molten red, proving that nothing in the sector could offer protection against their devastating payload.
The elite agents moved across the pavement like distorted blurs, leaping over debris and firing from impossible angles while maintaining a supernatural speed.
A figure burst from the rooftop of a five-story warehouse. Stephen plummeted into the open void, his trench coat snapping against the wind as he spun mid-air, discharging his glowing rifle in all directions like a falling, destructive star. Just moments before impacting the hard asphalt, he kicked off the vertical brick facade of an adjacent structure, redirecting his momentum into a fierce, forward charge toward a massive figure.
Standing well over two meters tall Big Black—waited for him below, tightening his massive fist and swinging it forward to meet the descent.
BOOM!
The sheer, kinetic force of their physical collision generated a shockwave that tore across the intersection, sending several parked sedans and SUVs flying through the air like toys before they smashed upside down onto the pavement.
"You’ve gotten stronger, brat," said Big Black, his deep, rumbling voice easily cutting through the smoke as he maintained his ground against the younger commander. "But it’s still not enough to challenge me. Tell me, why the fuck have you come to cause so many problems in this specific sector? Don’t you know this is my territory? I know someone handed you your own ass not too long ago, but it wasn’t me. If you want to bring your war here, you better be ready to die."
"You’re still as tough as ever, old man," said Stephen, his breathing steady despite the immense strain, his glowing rifle humming aggressively between his hands. "But you better hand over that goddamn idiot right now, or I won’t show you a single shred of mercy."
"Who the hell are you talking about?" asked Big Black, his eyes narrowing into cold slits.
"You know exactly who I’m talking about," said Stephen, his gaze unyielding.
"Hehe... even if I wanted to hand that brat over to you, unfortunately, I have a binding contract with TMC," said Big Black, letting out a low, amused chuckle that vibrated through his massive chest. "Nobody passes through this zone alive while I am standing here. You better pack up your little boys and get the fuck out. If I have to start taking this fight seriously, I won’t leave a single one of you breathing."
"Damn it!" cursed Big Black, slamming his massive fist into the cracked asphalt, causing the ground beneath their feet to splinter. He glared at Stephen with a mixture of rage and bitter recognition. "You know he doesn’t deserve your protection, old man! You’re a fucking idiot, Stephen! You chose the wrong side of history. They will discard you the exact same way they discarded me. You know they don’t deserve an ounce of loyalty. TMC is a piece of shit!"
"You might be right about that," said Stephen, his expression blank as he lowered his glowing rifle slightly. "But I still have my honor. And nobody is crossing this line today."
"Fine, old man," said Big Black, taking a step back as his massive chest heaved, his eyes locking onto Stephen with a cold, mutual respect. "Out of respect for you, I won’t press any further today. But the next time I show up, I won’t be alone. And that imbecile is going to be torn apart limb from limb by my men."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, blackie," said Stephen, waving his hand dismissively. "Just get the fuck out of here before I change my mind."
"Retreat!" roared Big Black, his booming voice echoing across the entire block.
Within seconds, the underground attackers began to scramble back into their modified trucks and tuners, tearing away from the battlefield in a cloud of burning rubber. Watching them flee, handsome young man with white hair stepped out from the shadows of a nearby doorway, his face twisting into an expression of pure, arrogant fury as he looked at the retreating vehicles.
"Pursue them!" commanded the white-haired youth, pointing a finger down the street. "Kill every single one of them right now!"
Stephen let out a dry, mocking laugh, turning his back on the young man and starting to walk away.
"I am talking to you!" yelled the youth, his voice cracking with rage. "This is a direct—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Stephen vanished from his spot, reappearing in front of the white-haired man like a blur. His hand shot out, wrapping around the youth’s throat with a crushing grip and lifting his feet off the ground.
"Listen to me very carefully, you little piece of shit," said Stephen, his voice dropping into a freezing whisper as he stared into the young man’s wide, panicked eyes. "You better watch your fucking tone with me. The only reason I protected you today is because I owe TMC a favor. If you keep pushing your luck and annoy me, I will personally snap every single one of your limbs and hand you over to Big Black myself. I don’t take orders from a fucking brat. Is that clear?"
"C-clear... as... water..." gasped the youth, his face turning a deep shade of purple as he struggled to find a single pocket of air.
Stephen released his grip, letting the young man collapse heavily onto the asphalt, coughing and clutching his neck. Without giving him another glance, Stephen turned back toward the smoke-filled intersection, his voice booming over the ruined street.
"Treat the wounded!" shouted Stephen to the surrounding agents. "Get them to the medical center!"
