Chapter 252: Chapter 252: Hellfire Protocol

The gang leader was secured to a heavy metal chair, thick steel wire cutting into his chest and arms to ensure he couldn’t move an inch.

"Well, it’s time to play," said Marcus, his voice chillingly calm as he stepped up to the prisoner, a small glass vial filled with a viscous, bubbling black liquid resting in his gloved hand.

The man groaned, his eyelids fluttering open as his consciousness finally returned, his terrified gaze locking onto the strange compound.

"You know, while I was breaking down and analyzing Stephen’s official super-potion formulation, I realized something fascinating," said Marcus, turning the vial slowly under the harsh overhead bulb. "We humans actually know remarkably little about the true potential of our own biology, nature, or the world around us. Isn’t that wild?"

"What... what the fuck is that?" rasped the leader, his voice cracking as he desperately tried to pull away from the metal frame.

"Through a bit of trial and error in my spare time, I managed to synthesize this solution," said Marcus, a dark chuckle escaping his lips. "I call it Hellfire. Heh."

Before the man could scream, Marcus snapped his jaw open with a brutal, crushing grip and forced the dark fluid straight down his throat.

Almost instantly a horrific, choking gasp echoed through the room. A thick, greyish smoke began to billow from the man’s mouth, nose, and even through the pores of his skin, carrying the nauseating smell of burning copper and melting flesh.

The mechanism behind the Hellfire compound was brilliant, biological sadistic. The moment the solution breached the mucosal lining of the stomach, its hyper-reactive chemical markers triggered an catastrophic transformation within the vascular system.

The liquid mixed with the blood, it acted as a molecular catalyst, instantly converting the body’s natural O2 transport proteins into a highly concentrated, corrosive sulfuric acid derivative.

"Watch closely Alex" said Marcus, pointing a scalpel at the man’s bulging veins. "The compound utilizes the body’s own natural arterial pressure to distribute itself. As the blood turns acid, the cellular walls of the vascular lining collapse simultaneously, dissolving the body from the inside out."

The leader’s veins turned a violent, bruised black beneath his skin, throbbing frantically as the liquefied tissue began to eat through his muscular structure. He screamed, a bubbling, wet sound as the chemical burn destroyed his vocal cords, his body dissolving into a horrific, smoking mass right before their eyes.

"Talk!" yelled Marcus, leaning in so close that the rising chemical smoke brushed against his protective goggles. "Where is my mother?! Who gave the order?!"

The man’s body violently convulsed, his hands clawing uselessly at the steel wires binding him. The agonizing torture was so absolute that the concept of loyalty disintegrated in his mind. The only mercy left in the universe was a quick death, and he knew Marcus was the only one who could grant it.

"The... the old sector!" choked out the leader, blood and black bile leaking from his lips as his voice rattled like broken glass. "The abandoned water treatment facility near the south border... they have her there... they’re using her to pull you out into the open... please... just kill me..."

Alexander stood frozen a few steps back, his face pale as his stomach violently churned. He had seen massacres, torn limbs apart with his bare hands, and watched people die in horrific firefights, believing he was desensitized to the brutality of this world. But watching this... it was different. This wasn’t combat. It was cold scientific slaughter.

A sudden, uncontrollable wave of nausea hit Alexander’s throat. He spun around, stumbled toward a rusted metal trash bin in the corner, and violently vomited, his shoulders shaking as he emptied his stomach.

Wiping his mouth with the back of his sleeve, Alexander turned back around, staring at his friend with a newfound sense of dread. He finally understood it now. Marcus didn’t carry the operational alias of Reaper just because he was a highly efficient killer for the organization. The man was truly, fundamentally demented—a bloodthirsty monster wrapped in the skin of a calculated tactician.

"The water treatment facility," muttered Marcus ignoring Alexander’s reaction as he casually tossed the empty glass vial into the sink. He reached into his vest, pulled out a heavy-caliber pistol, and casually fired a single round directly into the center of the weeping leader’s forehead, instantly silencing his agonizing screams.

Bang!

"We have a location," said Marcus, turning his cold, dead eyes toward Alexander as he racked the slide of his weapon. "Let’s go hunt."

His voice flat, devoid of any human emotion as he walked past the smoking corpse without a second glance.

Alexander wiped his mouth once more, his heart hammering against his ribs as he followed Marcus back into the main warehouse floor. Marcus marched straight toward his black Dodge Hellcat, his boots snapping against the concrete. He hit a button on his key fob, and the heavy trunk popped open with a click.

Instead of grabbing a standard assault rifle or a shotgun, Marcus reached deep into a hidden, foam-lined compartment at the base of the trunk. He hauled out a weapon that made Alexander freeze in his tracks. It had the general silhouette of a rifle, but it was unlike anything Alexander had ever seen in any military catalog.

Running along the barrel and the receiver were translucent, organic-looking channels that pulsed with a faint, bioluminescent glow, looking less like machinery and more like living veins.

The moment Marcus wrapped his massive hand around the weapon’s tactical grip, the pulsing veins instantly responded, flaring into a brilliant, angry crimson light that illuminated the dark corners of the warehouse.

"Those miserable sons of bitches..." muttered Marcus, his voice dropping into a low, terrifying vibration that didn’t even sound human anymore. "How the fuck do they dare?!"

Every person on this earth, no matter how cold, ruthless, or detached they claimed to be, had a definitive breaking point—a hidden line in the sand that could never be crossed. If anyone was foolish enough to step over that line, the facade vanished, leaving behind nothing but an unyielding storm of pure destruction where mercy, truce, and negotiations ceased to exist.

For Marcus, his mother and his sister were placed far beyond those sacred limits. And now, the entire city was about to burn for it.
